  • First I want to apologize if this video is a little confusing. I just threw it together. So let me explain. Plugging the old hole seemed easier than trying to fish out the old broken off threads, especially since I already had the spark plug tap handy. I originally moved the hose to the plug on top of the water pump, but realized that it wasn't an outlet, so I moved it to the front of the intake. I did flush the system after threading the hole and I also ended up with a kink in the hose in its new position, that I fixed with a piece of Unicoil, which is just a piece of spring that fits snug over the hose to keep it round while in a sharp bend. This was a quick and cheap fix, but I mean really, what was the point of this stupid "quick" connect anyways?? The whole idea is absurd, cause it doesn't get much quicker than a screw clamp!!! Engineers tick me off!

My 96 Chevy c1500 truck has a after market radiator just like in your video. (Oil cooler lines, and also the plug we're you put the red hose in). My heater core quick connect coupler hose broke inside the intake manifold. I put a plug in the intake manifold too stop the coolant from leaking out. (Used a brass fitting) . So my idea is too run a hose too the radiator too the heater core. (The red hose in your video) . My question is will this temp solution make my heater inside the truck work on hott heat.

If you want heat, the coolant flow has to exit the motor to the heater core, then exit core to dump into the radiator. Thats where I messed up the first time. The hole on the top of the water pump was not an outlet, thats why I moved it. Im sorry I didnt do a better job explaining in this video.

We're does that red hose go into? your video it looks like it connects to the radiator too the heater core. Does it blow hott air when you turn on the heater?

The antifreeze originally came out the back of the intake went into the heater core then came out of the heater core through the red hose and dumped into the radiator. I just move the outlet from the back of the intake to the front of the intake in a different hole. Because the other hole had broken threads still in it.

What I I plug the radiator in stead of putting it back in the intake , dose the intake really need coolant?

I did the same thing after wondering why no brain engineers would stoop to using an idea stolen from ford
