One of my biggest pet peeves about this season is that Bloom was the one who defeated tritanus whilst Aisha was put on the sidelines because HeR pOwErS gOt StOlEn. It would of made so much more sense for Blooms powers to be taken as she has the dragon flame and for Aisha to defeat Tritanus since the storyline was personal to her. I think it also would have been nice to see how the environment of being underwater would affect the power status of the girls (like when some of the winx couldn’t go to downland in s2). It would have been nice to see Aisha, Flora, Musa, and Tecna be the stronger ones in the group this season or handling more of the underwater/ offensive missions due to Bloom and Stella’s magic not being as effective as the others underwater because of their power sources. This also could have been a good way to see Stella show off more of her moon powers underwater and keep her sun magic for when she’s on land.
Yeah, like Aisha is stronger because she is surrounded by water (obviously), Flora with all the underwater plants, Musa with sound - since the sound is like, more effective and can travel further than upon land i think, and Tecna maybe using some electricity since I think we all know what happens when some electrical cord or something touches the water...
@@LisaFevral Yeah sadly. It’s definitely a big part as to why the girls all feel the same in the later seasons. In the older seasons they all had their own strengths and weaknesses that balanced them out as group but now it’s like any of them could be replaced by any old fairy because of how generic and one dimensional they and their powers have become. They lost what made each member useful and unique to the club.
It honestly just feels like the writers saw how much people liked enchantix and just started pumping out different transformations to keep people interested without even taking the time to realize what made enchantix so iconic
@@LisaFevral And Straffi wanted to give Winx Club a second chance in a English speaking markets and lowered the target age demographic due to the animation audience shifting younger.
I think we have a mystery to solve. Who killed the Winx Club revival Suspects: - Iginio Straffi - Viacom(Paramount Global) - Nickelodeon Executives - [ ] - Rainbow S.p.A - American Writers - [ ] Janice Burgess - [ ] Sascha Paladino - [ ] Adam Peltzman - [ ] Carin Greenburg - Fans of the show Clues - Straffi requested minor changes to the script to make the dialogue more suitable for younger audiences. - Nickelodeon moves some cartoons to NickToons, which requires extra payment for some cable providers, Dish Network requiring the highest priced package, affecting the shows ratings. Ex: Harvey Beaks, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Welcome to the Wayne - Straffi set the age demographic to ages 4-8 because “the animation audience has skewed younger” - Straffi can’t monitor Nickelodeon 24/7, and Nickelodeon used the soft reboot for lazy plot development, profit from a successful franchise, and demoted Stella into nothing but a fashion freak. - -
The sad part is they managed to make the transformation sequences and music really good! They just couldn't transfer that magic into the rest of everything.
Why are people thinking that it was the writers who make the decisions on the show and not the executives of Nickelodeon or even Iginio Straffi himself?
@@nailinthefashion Maybe people should do some research on who was the main reason for the changes for the Nickelodeon revival and who makes the decisions on the storytelling. The source of the problems came from when Straffi decided to lower the target age demographic in 2010, because of the “younger skewering” audiences while making a deal with Nickelodeon to coproduce more seasons and give Winx Club the “Smurfs” treatment when more effort was spent into the celebrities and advertising than the script and storytelling.
Omg yes respect to those Sailor outfits. Whoever designed them must have had to have extensive physiotherapy for their broken back because of how much they carried this entire season.
stella's fashion designer plotline made me so excited at first but then i saw the outfits for most of the stuff and was like girl where your magic gone
I'm noticing some of the major plot holes just now. Tbh, at first I really liked the idea of Tritannus being poisoned by the oil spill - it points to the very real and existing threat of humans hurting sealife with their egoistic choices and consumer behavior. But then I was like - wait a minute, this happened near the beach of Gardenia, how tf is the oil supposed to suddenly find its way to Andros and especially right to that prison cell? Also, why is Gardenia suddenly located by the beach? Does anyone remember how Bloom used to be ridiculed by Mitzie in season 1 for spending every summer with her parents at the beach abroad? Why would they even spend their holiday at the beach when there's a beach right where they live all year round?
Season five was around when I stopped watching as a kid because even then something didn’t feel right. I couldn’t verbalize what was wrong because I was like 9 or something, and my family just told me “oh, it just means you’re growing up” BUT FINALLY I KNOW WHY I FELT SO NEGATIVE ABOUT THE SEASON! Thank you for this video, being able to actually hear about the show getting dumbed down by the Blues Clues writing team was an “Ah-ha!” moment for me, and how just so much just didn’t feel right when I watched it as a kid.
@@eatatjoes6751 These writers aren’t guys with experience with serialized, let alone, magical girl-inspired cartoons. These are writers for Nick Jr. shows such as Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, and Oobi. Yet, people trusted them that they could turn Winx Club into the next Barbie, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Wars, My Little Pony, Monster High, Scooby-Doo?
@@eatatjoes6751 Maybe it wasn’t their fault, maybe it was the executive demands. For example: If you think Butch Hartman wrote a lazy script for Doogal, the infamous American dub of The Magic Roundabout movie, then here’s the irony, But Hartman had to rewrite the script for the movie for American audiences. The most difficult task to do was match the lips of the characters talking. However, in a lawsuit, Hartman claimed that Harvey Weinstein, the biggest monster mogul of the entertainment industry, only used 3% of Hartman’s script, and filled the entire movie with nothing but pop culture references. You see, sometimes the writers have worked really hard, writing good scripts for movies and tv shows, but the executives would meddle with the project to their liking, and the entire thing turns into a big disaster.
All the characters literally became caricatures of themselves…winx was my all time favorite show when I was growing up and it makes me sad to see what it has become. Also I totally agree with you on the 3D animation like wtf was that…it was so bad I HATED how they looked in 3D. And the worst part is for the later seasons the 3D kept getting worse and worse. Actually the animation in general was just so…bad
@@LisaFevral Good thing is that Season 7 doesn’t use CGI, mainly because of the budgetary cuts that the team had to make because of the box office failure of Gladiators of Rome. If they kept using CGI, they’ll have to use the cheapest method of CGI possible and the result will make the CGI segments look like…….FoodFight!
@@LisaFevral Speaking of the bad 3D animation, have you heard of Foodfight? It was infamously considered to be one of the worst animated movies of all time with its broken plot that doesn’t know what to tell, disgusting character designs which can sometimes be grotesque(not in a good way), unfinished backgrounds, unwatchable effects, disgusting sexual innuendos, food puns as comedy, and characters that are not only forgettable but have a special trait that makes then unbearable.
I'm so glad everyone else seems to dislike the seasons after 3 and 4 as much as I do. In my opinion, the worst thing isn't even the plot. It's the childish language. In the first seasons, the Winx were talking very similarly to how actual teenagers would talk, insults like idiot etc and minor curse words were being used in basically every episode. They got completely rid of that because Nickelodeon wanted the show to be suitable for...idk, toddlers I guess? The new way of talking sounds so fake and the constant "YES!" "GREAT!" "WOW!" "WE GOT THIS!" "WOHOO!" whenever one of the Winx says something is so annoying. Not all five of the other Winx have to SAY something - just let one of them say something and have the rest of them nod in unison. It's not that hard.
Actually, it was Straffi who wanted the dialogue to be more suitable for younger audiences. And speaking of the constant dialogue, Animat reviewed Walking with Dinosaurs and discussed about the most realistic animation to authentically depict the actual life of dinosaurs, only for an executive at 20th Century Fox to demand voice overs at the last minute, hoping to connect to its audience, and it made the 4 main characters talk for 98% of the movie, and it just is too childish and annoying even for kids.
Don’t believe me, here’s an interview from Straffi from 2019 explaining why the seasons 5-7 were considered childish: “In the last 10 years, the animation audience has skewed younger. Nowadays, it is very difficult to get a 10-year-old to watch cartoons. When your target audience is ages 4-8, you cannot have the same level of complexity as the previous seasons, which had lots of layers……… The fans on social media say that the new seasons are childish, but they didn’t know we had to do that.”
To be fair, the early seasons almost never shows Stella's lunar side. I can only remember her saying that she's the fairy of the sun and moon in the 1st ep, and at the s3 ending, when she makes a moon shield. So the og seasons only touched her sun powers. At least now its more clear. But I think they could've had her explore her lunar side in s4, because that could show her maturing in terms of her powers.
Yeah, the writers missed a big opportunity for Stella's fairy forms in S5. Both are based on the ocean, but what's responsible for moving the ocean's tides? The moon. They could've given more focus to the moon side by giving her more moon based spells.Hell, maybe even give Stella an interesting reason as to why she never used them much before now.Instead of getting rid of it,just put more focus on it.
Indeed, also I think that she could also conjure and use the power of the stars, just like her classmate Amaryl, hence her name meaning “star” in Italian and Latin. Also as combining her father’s solar powers and her mother’s lunar ones - she in turn being a combination of both and her own discovery of astral powers. Also I just hate it how they changed her from S5 onwards to the “Fairy of the Shining Sun” - excuse me?!? At least in the German and French dubs they kept her as “The Fairy of the Sun and the Moon” so they did her justice.
The thing with S5 is that you can *tell* it was the first season where the age of the target audience lowered and that the writers were swapped with people who had experience writing shows for pre-schoolers rather than older children and tweens. Much of the dialogue is repetitive, certain aspects and details are mentioned a lot and the concept of "show, don't tell" is very rarely used because a lot of plot points are verbally explained rather than letting the audience figure them out from what had happened until a certain point. That is something that is very popular in cartoons for young children. It irks me not only because the quality of the show dropped but also because you could tell that, especially for the first 3 seasons, Winx Club was more the likes of a "passion project" of Iginio Straffi and Rainbow but from its partnership with Nick onwards, it's obvious that it became a cash cow more than anything. It wasn't about making a nice, enjoyable cartoon anymore, it was about how many toys they could sell, hence the double fairy form upgrades every season.
It was all Straffi’s decision, because the animation audience has skewed younger and if the cartoon’s target audience is ages 4-8, it cannot have the same level of complexity as the previous seasons, which had lots of layers of different stories.
It became a cash cow by season 4, the fairy pets, the 2 extra transformations and the special wings. It's all made to sell toys and we're blinded by nostalgia for season 4 because it's the last hand drawn season.
@@soarixchannel5265 Just because the show became a cash cow, doesn’t mean that the extra transformations and fairy pets are to sell toys. The new transformations are to give something new and fresh to the franchise.
And Winx Club became a cash cow before partnership with Nickelodeon, which means that it was a huge success before the revival ever came. If Nickelodeon never partnered with Rainbow to co-produce new seasons of the show, would it still keep the same age demographic and stay the same show we know in love? No. Because the show would still suffer from terrible writing, making the characters forgettable, gimmicky transformations that are redundantly pointless whenever previous transformations can do the same thing just fine, and a constantly changing target age demographic, following the alleged age shift in the animation audience. What makes you think it was Nickelodeon who destroyed Winx Club and not just Rainbow or the show’s creator himself, Iginio Straffi?
@@robinsordahl8947 I am aware that Rainbow is at fault for the way that the franchise turned out too, I am not absolving them of the blame at all and honestly, I am not the biggest fan of season 4, I actually consider it the first season in which the quality started to drop with the messy writing, needless plot points and wonky animation. But the reason why I mean that Nick contributed to the downfall is because Nick writers were involved in the scripts for seasons 5-6, writers that had previously worked on shows like Blue's Clues which target a preschool demographic. Of course though they worked alongside writers from Rainbow with the concepts that they were given and I do understand that it was Rainbow's choice to work with those writers. The thing with season 5 onwards is that it feels like Winx Club started being less about the potential that the show had and more about how popular they could make it with a demographic that is most likely to contribute to toy sales. For me, it's more of a way of using it as a means to pinpoint a time when Winx Club downgraded rather than putting the whole blame for the drop in writing quality on Nick.
Also, yeah for Layla’s test being more heartbreaking than the others. It reminds me of Musa in s3. Everyone else’s wasn’t so bad on deciding what to sacrifice in order to save the world. Stella’s was makeup. While Musa’s was literally CHOOSING BETWEEN BRINGING HER MOTHER BACK TO LIFE AND SAVING THE WORLD. I remember that scene vividly. It still hurts to this day. Like Musa had the biggest decision to make while the others were so easy. Musa had to decide on bringing her dead mother back to life ( which hurts more realizing that really was her mom :( ). Musa and Layla seems to have had the most cruel and heartbreaking scenes. Musa’s sacrifice and Layla’s self confidence.
I think season 3 had it more balanced the scene that stood out the most for me was stella losing her "beauty" but she doesn't become "ugly" in the common sense she literally lost her EYES and MOUTH this episode really scared me because of this i didnt like stella very much as a kid but i felt so bad for her in this episode
@@luma4902 yeah you’re right :0. I just rewatched it and hh yeah that did freak me out XD. ( I would love to edit my comment to now say better for Stella but for some reason my UA-cam won’t let me :( ). I wanna say, Stella’s is honestly sure not as bad as Musa where she doesn’t have to worry about losing anyone. But I can see her losing her beauty being heartbreaking. Considering Stella has always felt ugly without makeup and heck, she was cursed turning into a sea monster. And thought Brandon would hate her for it. But she learned ( along with Brandon telling her ) that she’s beautiful not for her looks, but for how she is as a person to others. Her sacrificing her beauty is pretty cool. For she’s now fully realizing she’s beautiful inward than just outward. And that the fate of the world is more important than a few beauty products.
I think the choice for Tecna was just as dirty as Musa's. I don't believe Arcadia was a great or good honest fairy. She doesn't feel friendly even with her apology she at best reminds me of the shady Spirit of World of Dreams from World of Winx honestly.
Ah Yes, let the salt flow. As a Techna fan, I hate how feminine she gets from here on. It just underlines the idea that girls with a masculine-ish style, "grow out of it into proper ladies". I felt *so* betrayed since I loved her aesthetic with occasional dressing up but otherwise keeping it practical. Her miniskirt and bob hair this season is still on theme and I like it a lot, but it's only downhill from here. High femme everyday looks have to fit the character and she was the one who even refused to get into beachwear in season 2. Also, Harmonix looks like wedding gowns and I can't unsee it.
Winx was supposed to have ended at s3, that's why enchantix was referred to "the final form a fairy could achieve"; but since it was so popular, they made s4 and believix (which still made sense to me bc it was something fairies could only achieve in a very specific condition), and they were already adults and begun teaching (and bloom was getting married in the s4 movie, which was supposed to close everything up). S5 forward, for me, just doesn't make sense... they kept going bc it still made a lot of success, so, why stop? Still, it doesn't make sense for them to keep going to school to "study", even though they graduated, and the plots became empty, most of times... just more of the same I consider it ended on s4 in order to preserve my good memories of the show that marked my childhood so damn much
Musa or Aisha should have brakedanced while using that leg-unnamed-blast. That would have added at least some flavour to Sirenix spells and individualised at least unnamed spells a little bit.
One of the reason why I absolutely hate the revived series (seasons 5-8) is because they cloned each girl by having literally the personality and Roxy being kicked out of the club when in every interview the creators talked about the girls finding the 7th MEMBER THAT WILL JOIN THEIR CLUB!
even as the biggest diehard bloom fan, it was messed up that she destroyed tritanus and not layla. yeah he might've kept daphne captive or whatever, but layla and him are literally cousins? they have more of a rivalry then bloom and tritanus. big mess up on the producers.
I was 18. After growing out of my beloved childhood show, after years, I heard there are more seasons and more transformations and Sirenix is like, supposed to be super epic one for the whole season. I looked it up. Still perfectly remembering the graceful, beautiful, exquisite Enchantix transformation I saw Sirenix sequence and then watched it become 3D. The farting sound was all that played in my mind after that
none of the later designs hold a candle to Enchantix, which is supposed to be weaker so that's kinda weird to me, idk, it's just personal preference but I love how detailed and glittery Enchantix is
Believix was pretty nice, and I could accept it cuz it was only a “earth” power. But then this season they start off with it while they’re on earth. Which undermined why it worked lol
personally, season 5 was still watchable but DEFINITELY had its flaws. i agree with literally everything you said. i mean, if they were going to bring daphne back, couldn't they STILL keep her in her nymph form? literally every time i see daphne in her nymph form i get so stunned because of how majestic and ethereal looking she is, and then in season 5 they decided to bring her back (which makes zero sense) AND GIVE HER A NORMAL ASS LOOK? she looks so generic, it's sickening. i also feel like it'd be cool if they had mermaid tails for sirenix (or at least something that resembled a mermaid tail). the sirenix song ROCKED, it's my favourite transformation song. but those outfits really needed stellas help. i found them so tacky looking, and those leggings... ew. the selkies are knock off versions of the pixies (they are pretty cute but gosh they were just created to replace the pixies lmao). one of the only outfits i loved in s5 were those sailor outfits! yeah, they were still a teeny tiny bit uniform, they were still great! the way they changed up stellas powers? she's the fairy of both the sun AND moon. it irks me how much her moon side is forgotten, both by the winx fandom and the show itself?! anyways, i LOVE UR OUTFIT AAAAAH, you manage to amaze us everytime! cant wait for your next winx video
oh this season is definitely not as bad as 6, idk about the rest yet, but I watched 6 bc I'm working on the review rn and 6 is definitely worse😭 also thank you!!🥰🥰
Thank you they completely forgot about Stella being the fairy of the sun te moon and the stars if anything she probably would of been the 2nd most powerful out of all the girls besides bloom if they would of kept that part of her powers
@@Sam.0202 I don't remember this being outright said in the other seasons, but it's always been implied that Daphne was killed by the Ancestral Witches, enraged that she had sent Bloom away before they could get to her and she wouldn't say where she had hidden her. To have her become a "disembodied spirit" and able to come back to life felt not only like a cheap attempt at using Daphne as a plot device to get the story moving (since she had broad knowledge about the Magical Universe), but also felt unfair to Musa for not being able to bring back her mother.
I always thought they changed Stella to “the fairy of the shining sun” instead of the sun and the moon to like dumb it down a bit or make it really juvenile or kiddie sounding
I'm pretty sure it's because season five is only a Nickelodeon version. 4kids and the Rai version, Stella was always fairy of the shining sun and moon, but the Nick version, Stella was always fairy of the shining sun.
I think its more because even pre-S5,while Stella was the Fairy of the Sun and Moon, she barely used her moon powers and always used her sun/light ones for the most part. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only time I remember her using them is in S3 with a few of her Enchantrix spells. So I can't really blame them too much for cutting out the moon part, even if I think it would've been better to just have her showcase her moon powers more.
That makes sense. I only know Stella as the fairy of the shining sun... I never new she had the powers of the moon in her hands in another dimension. If they had actually invested in that they could have made the story a lot more complex. Maybe they should have given the moon power to Musa because her music power was rarely enough.
Great video! I gotta say I was super disappointed by the fact that Sirenix felt so lackluster.. I mean, this is the transformation that was meant to be on par with Daphne and by this point Daphne almost felt like a legend herself. That being said I really loved how they dwelled a bit deeper into the curse that befell Daphne even if it didn’t make much sense at the end XD Btw Diapason was iconic, wish she would have kept that power. Musa does feel like she’s at her best when summoning magical instruments to help her in battle, just like the flute in Domino.
If it wasn’t for Straffi’s desire to make Winx Club successful in English speaking regions or his decision to lower the target age demographic, none of these problems that you pointed out, would’ve ever mattered. He thought it was a good idea to bring Brian Young to create a live-action adaptation that not only is super dark, but also turned the main characters into completely despicable b**ches. It promises to impress the old fans of Winx, who have grown to be adults, but it felt like a stone hard toe to the nads. Straffi has undoubtedly created the worst cartoon revival of all time!
Winx Club: How to make the worst cartoon revival of all time 1. You should allow a major American Multimedia Mass Conglomerate to offer you a deal for mass distribution of your show. You should be begging for attention among mainstream companies and not realize how expensive and soul-crushing it can be, just to have your show promoted by those people. They should try to own at least a huge percentage of your company, because they found an interest in its most successful show. 2. Realizing that most viewers of cartoons are children under the age of 7, try to lower your age demographic in order to pander to girls of that age demographic, since most girls cartoons are aimed at young girls. They are more into fashion, self-absorption, gossip, and the color pink than to adventure, action, or even danger. 3. Pander to Americans using teen stars from sitcoms on a children’s channel, like Nickelodeon. You should use an all-Star cast of popular actors from that channel as a gimmick to grab your audiences attention, thinking that they will understand the show, when in fact, they will more often than not, feel cringe from the childish tone of your show’s newer seasons. 4. Squander your money, both to revive your cartoon and produce one of your company’s original theatrical films. You should work on so many projects that it makes it harder for you to put effort into the work. You should spend at least $45 million into making an original animated film and over-budget with a recording studio that regularly uses popular movie stars and/or voice actresses, who do regular voice characters in mainstream cartoons, for your show. As a result, you should be losing a lot of money, as a result of your arrogance and high hopes for your original animated movie to succeed, when it made less than 1/4 of the budget spent to make it, leaving you to switch dubbing studios for your show’s 7th season to cut costs in the budget, disappointing fans of the seasons with the California dubbing actors. 5. Congratulations, you wasted your money, trying to get America’s attention. Now rebrand your entire show, by making your main characters students again after they graduated before this revival came, so the story can stretch out as long as possible, leaving it to rot. The writing quality should be going down over time for each season. 6. Rehash the first couple seasons in the form of 4 specials while leaving the other two original seasons to be dubbed. The special involving the 2nd season should skip a lot of insight for specific characters and character development needed to defeat a villain as heroes, leaving them to be forgotten, so the rest of your show will leave the characters lacking in experience of what they learned from their past adventures. 7. Regarding Step 2, make sure you water down the scripts for 2 of the original seasons of the show, to try to be more suitable for the young age demographic. If your modified script isn’t bland, messy, confusing, or childish enough, then try harder. For example, have a proposal scene being changed to asking someone to be their “Forever Girlfriend”. And one of your characters should have their line changed from stating that the antagonist should be punished and sent back to their prison where they belong, to making a snow cone and “I’ll take Raspberry”, while she blast their attack at her. The dialogue should be super cringe, super pandering, and such a huge cash cow, that you’ll be scammed to hearing your characters dialogue, in ways that even preschool shows deem unnecessary. 8. Have several retcons in your show’s storyline. There should be as many changes in interpretation of events and characters as possible, in order to confuse your audience. It should ruin the storyline of your show to the point that it’s broken beyond repair and all the events that happened before were drastically altered for a sake of a reboot. 9. While you have your Hollywood actors, do not let them sing official songs for your show. They’re not in contract with your company to provide singing for your characters in the show, so have an overused singer, such as Elisa Rosselli, and a bunch of other unrecognizable talents to provide the characters’ singing voices. If that song with the characters singing it was played on the radio, an album, or other audio-only methods, your audience should have no idea, which character they’re supposed to hear singing the verses, backup or lead. Also, have at least one of your characters have at least 3 singing voices, so it’s hard for you to recognize her, as she sounds super different in a few songs than others. You should waste the actors’ time by having them to voice the characters, but not allow the actors to give them much singing for the show, so it’s like they did voices for this show for nothing more than speaking voices for the characters. 10. If there are not enough parties or shenanigans in your new seasons, there’s something wrong with you. The storyline is too boring for your young age demographic, so waste that time for well written stories by throwing a bunch of parties and celebrations and random traveling across the galaxy just to fool around and do plot-irrelevant activities, so the kids can play along, while they are diverted from the main focus of the story. 11. After your final co-produced season, you should start lightening the skin tones of two main characters, starting with one of your spin offs onward, without giving a valid explanation whatsoever. There’s already cartoons with POC people and the world is already getting more culturally diverse, so there is absolutely no need to worry about whitewashing any of your characters.
You are the first person I've seen to articulate my feelings about the winx club so well. The first 3 seasons are GOLD in my opinion, i could stand season 4 but something started to feel odd. and then season 5 happened and i just felt like this wasn't the winx anymore. if we could just start the story over starting from the end of season 3 that would be perfect in my opinion.
One of the things that never made sense to me is how the winx never thought to use fairy dust to turn the mutants back like?? Technically the mutants are under a "dark spell" so why not use it? And even if it doesnt revert them back we know fairy dust has healing properties that could also heal them so why???
It makes no sense that they don’t use it! But again, they made winx use Sirenix even above water and believix outside of earth, so they definitely aren’t using logic here at all
I haven't even watched the show but the amount of effort you put into these videos amazes me! They are so detailed and fun to watch. Better than Netflix atm for me
I kind of like that there was a block that was kept up by Sky but the event behind that block and the fact that Bloom can't heal him anymore annoyed me cause that block reminds me of a trauma thing that you probably wouldn't develop over a trinket
yeah season 5 was a bit... chaotic it's also the season where the girls started to act more childish, Stella for example, became immature in the sense she was acting like a '3 year old' and the episode that talks about that the most is actually one where she TURNS INTO a 3 year old
You perfectly put into words why I can rewatch season 1-4 anytime but haven't finished 7 yet while barely remembering what was going on in 5 and 6. It is a shame for the pretty designs that they had poor execution. I loved the design of Bloomix, it could have been a really cool warrior transformation maybe with tribute to the Company of light or so.
THANK YOU 👏🏾! THANK YOU for I am NOT the only one who realizes the transformations themselves are all identical. Like, look at Enchantix, Charmix/Magix, and Believix. Each outfit and accessories of the Winx are unique and different from each other. I can tell whose wings, outfits, and colors belong to who. I once played a Winx dressup game and I was so lost as to who owned what wings and outfits when it came to Sirenix and Harmonix. And the poses are pretty lackluster. I can still think of each Winx transformation pose and know who it was from.
19:14 I agree about Stella, despite her flaws she was still a cool character in earlier seasons and actually got character development and matured a lot from her mistakes, Season 5 however ruined her totally, they made her too childish and immature, her character timeline reminds me a lot of Cat Valentine from Victorious, both started out as bubbly, chatty and kinda naive and ditzy but were still normal then they eventually got infantilized more and more as their shows progressed. I personally love aspiring fashion designer characters like Rarity from MLP, Clawdeen from MH, Evie from Descendants etc but I think these characters were handled much better than Stella in S5, they are portrayed as fully capable, strong and creative individuals never as bratty or childishly immature to the point of parody and their passion is never seen as something to be ridiculed for the sake of comedy in their respective franchises.
That's the thing! Stella has been interested in fashion since forever, it wasn't a new pursuit, and she went from someone who knew a lot about it to an absolutely clueless child
Also I think making Harmonix weaker in exchange for more adaptability in terms of terrain would be a good move. This would've made their quest more difficult and really made the Sirenix quest have a more dangerous vibe.
I'm surprised you didn't talk about Tecna and Timmy in the relationships part. Even as a kid I just found it so weird that suddenly they were so awkward with each other again and apparently had never been on a real date?? It just made it seem like they had just met through tinder or something and had never seen each other in real life which made absolutely 0 sense
oh my god yes, I forgot to talk about it! IT WAS SO WEIRD! like they have been dating for years at that point and they've spent time together face too face ON SCREEN already
They were only one real date Season 2 they had lunch together at Red Fountain Tecna probably meant formal date as that is what the majority of the other girls immediately think about when talking about dates except for Flora. And her first date face to face with Timmy didn't go so well in Season 2.
Exactly!!! The moon controls tides. Stella could become so much powerful using the moon. It could be a good plot, like: she never used the powers from her mother and she has to train plus maybe she has a personal reason why she doesn’t use them often, etc. It could be a very good character development!
this video is public service tbh. thank you for being the spokeswoman of an entire frustrated generation of winx fans. i wish these writters and producers and whatsoever would watch your videos because if i were them i would just quit and give you the job. lisa for president
You'll have to prepare yourself for the next seasons, then, because it only gets worse from here. I wish I never had to say this about my favorite childhood show. Season 8 seems to be made for even younger kids somehow.
@@b.h.4249 Oh i'm not even wasting my time watching any of these seasons lol! I wasted my time watching a few episodes of "Fate", I'm not watching anything other than the nostalgic Winx Club. The new adaptations are horrible!
@@user-ey9uj6vp9s A good decision, really. Word of Winx was kinda good, but then they canceled it.. I heard that they're actually continuing it with season 3 now..? I'm kinda excited, it ended on a really interesting cliffhanger. Otherwise, yeah, Winx Club is pretty much dead creatively. Fate can go die in a fire and the main series is gonna fizzle out one day, too, with nothing to hold it up except toy sales.
Thank you for your video. I was a Winx fan when I was a child and this just brings me back to that nostalgic feeling. I hope you continue with the Winx saga. And it Is quite sad what has become of the series.
yeah I can't believe that this is what happened to it, hopefully it's gonna get fixed somehow in the future(maybe the series will redeem itself, but I doubt it)
I love this winx series, because this is my favourite childhood show and i know everything about it and there's not nearly enough people for me to talk about this seriously, so thank you for that content. Also I was surprised you didn't mention the Daphne fiasco much. I mean she went from this powerful and legendary nimf to some generic character (yes, this change is even more prominent in season 6, but it starts in season 5)
Yeah I decided not to focus on it too much bc that change of lore affected everything and I thought that criticizing season 5 is better when I focus on s5, instead of the previous lore (still salty about it though Ahah)
I completely agree, Winx was my absolute favorite as a kid and I never stopped following the show until season 8 released and I fell off out of sheer boredom. I could talk about the lore and characters for days. There was so much potential after season 4 and they did nothing with it.
@@b.h.4249 girlll same, I wish I just had more people I could talk to about all those small details. And tbh imo Alfea is the superior magic school to Hogwarts
ngl, season 5 has a special place in my heart because it's how i was introduced to the show, but i thoroughly enjoyed every second of this video and i love how you're just going off at it. it's just a very lacking season.
Again - straight to the point! That Flash animation from S5 onwards will haunt me forever! They look so brainless and robot like. Changing Stella’s and Aisha’s source of power, making our favourite Princess of Solaria so infantile and fashion driven, that stupid polemic with Sky’s amnesia, Diaspro wasting her time, Bloom, although I adore her, again being a Mary-Sue, messing up a bit the family of Queen Ligea and Tressa, how generic the mermaids of Andria look, being again stuck in Alfea, the character descending of the Winx and that stupid quest for “Nature’s Key”. I do like bringing back the Alfea Archive, exploring the underworlds of the magical dimension, Harmonix and Sirenix as songs and transformations; Harmonix’ attacks are iconic, especially Musa’s Diapason, Reverberating Notes etc . Oh, and how epic the fight between the Trix and Winx in the Archive was. I love it when then Winx actually have to use logic and sweat to beat the Trix. I also loved the love Stormy and Darcy showed towards Icy, despite the latter being a pain in the butt for them the entire season. The same was in Season 8 - when Icy hugged both of them and they cried actual tears of joy and love (sorry for the spoiler but that scene made me break out in tears! I loved it)
I honestly agree with everything you said about Season 5 and I will pray for your survival when you get to Season 6. If you want a better version of Season 5, watch Unicorn of War’s Season 5 Rewrite as they pretty much rewrote in a way that connects it to the original four seasons.
One gripe I had watching this season is the mutants all look the same. When Titannus was like "say hello to the family", I'm like "how do you know those are your family members? They all look the same." I wish they had a more unique design like Titannus
You really wanna know why my biggest pet peeve of this season is… The selkies give the Winx a power boost, and before the EVER even get to use it, Tritannus escapes. And the selkies never boost the Winx ever again. SO WHAT THE HECK WAS THE POINT OF SHOWING USE THE SELKIES COULD BOOST THE WINX’ POWERS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
@@block8661 I still consider season 7 worse because it has literally 0 plot, it is made for literal toddlers, it is basically a meme, and it has butterflix. The characters act even more like 3 year olds in season 7 than 6 and 5, it also has terrible villains that are really unfunny. I forgot about most of the other characters, except for Roxy and the Winx. This is why I think it's worse than season 6.
The wait is finally over! I deeply appreciate your passion and efforts towards this one! Keep it up, queen! I truly love to see more about your opinions on winx!
Season 5 is one of my favorite seasons because of the graphics and the "new" storyline, but the plotholes and the bloom becoming more of a Mary Sue make me question my decisions lol. I love your videos especially your Winx analysis ones.
I’ve been a fan of Winx for a long while, I watched the 3 first seasons as a child and still remember it as one of the best shows that influenced my childhood. Up to this day I still rewatch some episodes especially from season 2 and 3. Then I watched season 5 and 6 and I felt it was not the real Winx Club I used to love back in time. Also I absolutely love your videos, I watched part 1 entirely it was very entertaining and I love the format with you explaining your point with the pictures and videos of the show on the side, very creative 💖 I wish you the best for your treatment too 🔥 take care 💖
Ok I'm just starting the vid and I already can tell I'm just going to admire your outfit. It's impossible to tell you were super hill not to long ago, btw I hope you're going better.
I havent seen any of the winx but your videos are the shit i love them so much (and your but whyyyye section killed me i was crying with laughter as you revealed your wall)
The Selkie of Earth has the same colors and patterns of Roxy. Not only they made me bad about leaving her out, they even put these things to made me more angry!! Plus, how the group treated Roxy when she was in the background, like she wasn't even there, that made the winx unsympathetic, almost to the point of bully.
Harmonix was kind of a "preevolution state" of sirenix and looked like fancy quinceañera dresses, so I thought their sirenix outfits would be a little more....regal? like Daphne, who was also a sirenix fairy. I did not expect or liked the 'acrobat' look, but it has hands down the best transformation theme.
I have a passing interest in winx. however I am watching all your videos because the looks you have are just so on point. also I like listening to people talk about stuff they like.
I love your deep dive into this series because I loved it so much as kid💕. I do agree the transformation outfits in Sirenix are absolutely atrocious 😭. And I agree with about the 3D version because I remember when I was younger I wouldn’t even watch it because it was kinda creepy in a way. Like you said they looked nothing like themselves. They really could’ve highlighted a lot of the girls powers because they would work better underwater than other like Bloom or Stella. I will say that season 5 has the best soundtrack out of the entire show but it doesn’t offer much more than that. They really dropped the ball 🥲.
I think making bloom weaker under water than usual would've been a GREAT idea, bc it would give room to the other winx to show what they can do while also showing that Bloom is not invincible
@@LisaFevral. I agree! They make it seem like Bloom is invincible and can do anything which I think is kinda horrible for the story because it kinda makes you wonder why the other girls are even there at times. Since Bloom doesn’t really have any weaknesses. It kinda defeats the whole purpose of a team.
I know this season has its problems and that everyone's harmonix outfits look too similar, but good lord its one of my fave transformations from winx bcs that style and aesthetic is personally a big fave
I absolutely hate what they did to Flora this season on. I believe that she's the type of person to be insecure in her relationship, even with a lot of reassurance, but she hasn't been before. And she's just downright MEAN to Helia. It's so out of character.
Thank you so much for making this - from a(n old) Winx fan. I'm looking forward to other videos about other seasons if you're interested in making them 🤭
aisha shouldve been the main character, like what does any of this have to do with bloom, besides the fact they free daphne. there were literally so many main fight scenes that could've been executed to seem bigger instead of unexciting because a ton of stuff happened.
13:48 Sky's not king anymore. That's right. But in the writers' defence, at least they did acknowledge this change by making Sky say in this season's first episode that his father would take over king stuff again, so that Sky could.. continue his training at Red Fountain if I remember correctly? It's still very stupid and it doesn't make much sense. If Sky wasn't ready to become a king, he shouldn't have become one at the end of the first movie in the first place. But yea, at least the dialogue acknowledges this change unlike stuff like the engagement which they're just all quiet about.
I hope this what looks like a reboot of winx/ season 9 actually addresses all these issues because as you go further and further down the line the age demographic they're trying to target is getting younger when us who are the biggest winx fans are getting older. I would assume more older kids would watch winx now but I guess thats why they made FATE which was supposed to appeal to us but they really screwed that up.
@@luma4902 Yes yes yes 100%, after that I would have just accepted the fact that its over. I also hate how they keep making them young again this is how they're ruining it they're creating potholes in the plot nothing is making sense. And then It just leaves us older generations so confused
And what's annoying is if they want to dumb down Winx Clubs story/character/lore continuity so they "don't confuse the kids",they could've went all the way and hard-rebooted the show instead this half-assed soft reboot mess they've been going with since S5. It seems like S9 might be going this route.
I AM LIVING FOR THIS NEW SEGMENT! SLAP THAT WALL QUEEN! That said, I think if season 5 had not been co-produced by Nickelodeon, I think the writing would've been way better. And as Unicorn of War pointed out in his video essays about Winx, I feel like Harmonix was meant to be earned by the Nature's Key not just as a form for them to fight underwater. Though I do feel like Believix wings would be hella useless underwater as they're way too big. And Sirenix as a whole was a pretty good concept, just the execution was not so stellar.
I don’t think that’ll make a difference, Iginio Straffi would still ruin his own show by meddling with the writer’s process of making stories. He was the one who changed the age demographic and rebooted Winx Club for Nickelodeon and the writers were just doing what they’re told to by the executives. Here is something that makes you think that the American writers like Janice Burgess, Sascha Paladino, Adam Peltzman, and Carin Greenberg, have made the show childish and inconsistent. These writers aren’t guys with experience with serialized or magical girl cartoons, they are writers of preschool shows, especially on Nick Jr. Yet, due to the younger age demographic, Viacom hired them to turn Winx Club into the next biggest NickToon since Spongebob SquarePants and Avatar: The Last Airbender?
This season: "They're bonding!" Me quoting Plankton: ALRIGHT I GET IT!! Jokes aside, as a kid, I fell off watching Winx after the 4th season and since moved on to other things, like Johnny Test (which I'm still a big fan of) and so on. And looking back at it now, there were good ideas in concept, but of course Nickelodeon literally threw everything but the kitchen sink out.
I agree so much with everything you say here. This season hurts so much for the fans. Also, I hate the design of Sirenix, its SO UGLY, nothing is okay. They should just have stiked to Harmonix regarding the design of the transformation. The song and secuence for Sirenix its so cool but it gets ruined by the ugly clothes and hair. I also think they should have continued using Enchantix for any battle that was not inside the Infinite Ocean. I recommend you to check out Season 5 rewrite by Thomas Vaccano, they did a great job with that. I wish that was season 5. The original season 5 ruined a lot of stuff. Also loved the last segment of the video haha. Cannot wait to see the season 6 review.
yeah I couldn't believe how ugly Sirenix was to compare to harmonix, it's a damn shame. I was meaning to watch their video, just haven't gotten around to it haha and I'm glad you like it haha
Such a waste of potential. They barely used harmonix and it was over. I can't believe a writing team sat around a table and agreed on that horrid 3d design for sirenix. Embarrassing tbh
@@denimili7659 You thpught the 3D design for Sirenix was horrid, you should watch Foodfight, their CGI was so horrid, it makes the audience either throw up or scream their lungs out.
EXACTLY
yeah, there is no more magic logic or lore, everything functions to make writing easy for the writers and that's it!
Yeah, like Aisha is stronger because she is surrounded by water (obviously), Flora with all the underwater plants, Musa with sound - since the sound is like, more effective and can travel further than upon land i think, and Tecna maybe using some electricity since I think we all know what happens when some electrical cord or something touches the water...
great points right here
@@LisaFevral Yeah sadly.
It honestly just feels like the writers saw how much people liked enchantix and just started pumping out different transformations to keep people interested without even taking the time to realize what made enchantix so iconic
pretty much, they just wanted to sell as many toys as possible and didn't care if any of the story made sense
Yeah like belivix was kinda undervealming but the S5 transformations naaah

- Straffi requested minor changes to the script to make the dialogue more suitable for younger audiences.
- Nickelodeon moves some cartoons to NickToons, which requires extra payment for some cable providers, Dish Network requiring the highest priced package, affecting the shows ratings. Ex: Harvey Beaks, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Welcome to the Wayne
- Straffi set the age demographic to ages 4-8 because “the animation audience has skewed younger”
- Straffi can’t monitor Nickelodeon 24/7, and Nickelodeon used the soft reboot for lazy plot development, profit from a successful franchise, and demoted Stella into nothing but a fashion freak.

The sad part is they managed to make the transformation sequences and music really good! They just couldn't transfer that magic into the rest of everything.
writers: "the audience will get confused if stella has two power sources"
also writers: "yeah so solaria has three suns"
Idk why they thought it would be confusing, it’s just sun and moon, ie light
Why are people thinking that it was the writers who make the decisions on the show and not the executives of Nickelodeon or even Iginio Straffi himself?
@@robinsordahl8947 bc in reality it's all of em 😭
@@nailinthefashion Maybe people should do some research on who was the main reason for the changes for the Nickelodeon revival and who makes the decisions on the storytelling. The source of the problems came from when Straffi decided to lower the target age demographic in 2010, because of the “younger skewering” audiences while making a deal with Nickelodeon to coproduce more seasons and give Winx Club the “Smurfs” treatment when more effort was spent into the celebrities and advertising than the script and storytelling.

Why would they even spend their holiday at the beach when there's a beach right where they live all year round?
yeah that's the thing, these are not bad ideas, but the logic is just not there
I feel like they didn't put much thought into the Gardenia setting since most of the show takes place in the magical dimension.

Maybe it’s because the crew didn’t add the beach next to Gardenia before Season 4.
And ironically, it was because of Straffi’s decision to lower the target age demographic, due to the “animation audience skewing younger”.
The Blue's Clues writing team should ironically know better about children's programming, if that's what they were aiming for.

I don't understand how the animators weren't constantly falling asleep at their desks from boredom while making this season.

I'm literally gonna make a joke about the fake and constant weird comments in the season 6 video
When your target audience is ages 4-8, you cannot have the same level of complexity as the previous seasons, which had lots of layers……… The fans on social media say that the new seasons are childish, but they didn’t know we had to do that.”
i liked the voices and songs for them but they missed a lot of marks

To be fair, the early seasons almost never shows Stella's lunar side. I can only remember her saying that she's the fairy of the sun and moon in the 1st ep, and at the s3 ending, when she makes a moon shield. So the og seasons only touched her sun powers. At least now its more clear. But I think they could've had her explore her lunar side in s4, because that could show her maturing in terms of her powers.
yeah I definitely agree, but I think they should've fixed it by using more of her lunar powers instead of getting rid of them
Yeah, the writers missed a big opportunity for Stella's fairy forms in S5.

Also, Harmonix looks like wedding gowns and I can't unsee it.
yeah they really stripped the girls of their personalities, unfortunately, style included
I just assumed that the tastes of the other girls when it came to clothing rubbed off on her. Either that or she was a tomboy with a girlish streak.
Still, it doesn't make sense for them to keep going to school to "study", even though they graduated, and the plots became empty, most of times... just more of the same
I consider it ended on s4 in order to preserve my good memories of the show that marked my childhood so damn much
oh yeah, the real winx club ended with season 4
The Winx clip: POSITIVE ENERGY 😀
The BetterHelp ad that cut it off: "it's okay to not be okay 😌"
Those cursed "fashion collection" looks unlocked repressed memories. I've forgotten just *how* messy their outfits became during the later seasons
Yeah, I don’t get how it is both plain and terrible at the same time ahahah
The farting sound was all that played in my mind after that
yeah it doesn't compare at all
none of the later designs hold a candle to Enchantix, which is supposed to be weaker so that's kinda weird to me, idk, it's just personal preference but I love how detailed and glittery Enchantix is
It is simply the most iconic and prettiest one.Demonsrates their growth perfectly, while looking great.

Bloomix its outfits coud compete with it and it had potential but the actual transformation fell extremely short
Believix was pretty nice, and I could accept it cuz it was only a “earth” power. But then this season they start off with it while they’re on earth. Which undermined why it worked lol
*not
And sorry wrong season, they used it later
personally, season 5 was still watchable but DEFINITELY had its flaws. i agree with literally everything you said. i mean, if they were going to bring daphne back, couldn't they STILL keep her in her nymph form? literally every time i see daphne in her nymph form i get so stunned because of how majestic and ethereal looking she is, and then in season 5 they decided to bring her back (which makes zero sense) AND GIVE HER A NORMAL ASS LOOK? she looks so generic, it's sickening. i also feel like it'd be cool if they had mermaid tails for sirenix (or at least something that resembled a mermaid tail). the sirenix song ROCKED, it's my favourite transformation song. but those outfits really needed stellas help. i found them so tacky looking, and those leggings... ew. the selkies are knock off versions of the pixies (they are pretty cute but gosh they were just created to replace the pixies lmao). one of the only outfits i loved in s5 were those sailor outfits! yeah, they were still a teeny tiny bit uniform, they were still great! the way they changed up stellas powers? she's the fairy of both the sun AND moon. it irks me how much her moon side is forgotten, both by the winx fandom and the show itself?! anyways, i LOVE UR OUTFIT AAAAAH, you manage to amaze us everytime! cant wait for your next winx video
oh this season is definitely not as bad as 6, idk about the rest yet, but I watched 6 bc I'm working on the review rn and 6 is definitely worse😭
also thank you!!🥰🥰
@@LisaFevral 6 IS DEFINITELY WORSE THAN 5. BUT 7... LETS NOT EVEN START WITH SEASON 7 ONG. ANYWAYS, GREAT VIDEO AS USUAL, REALLY ENJOYED IT
Thank you they completely forgot about Stella being the fairy of the sun te moon and the stars if anything she probably would of been the 2nd most powerful out of all the girls besides bloom if they would of kept that part of her powers
@@onyrizc2262 I'm glad you liked it haha
@Ever After High HQ the more I find out about the production the more shocked I am omfg
40:37 She is. It was stated that "she gave her life to save Bloom". They just changed that to have an excuse to bring her back.
yeah, true😭
Daphne should stay dead and Nabu should be alive.
I think it may have been a way of speaking. She gave her life as she lost her body maybe.
@@floraflowers I’m french so in my dub it’s not exposed like this so idk maybe it’s only in English 🤷♂️
“What is this daytime soap opera ass plot”
I could not 🤣🤣🤣
I always thought they changed Stella to “the fairy of the shining sun” instead of the sun and the moon to like dumb it down a bit or make it really juvenile or kiddie sounding
I think so too, and I think that’s just ridiculous! It’s not that difficult of a concept at all
I'm pretty sure it's because season five is only a Nickelodeon version. 4kids and the Rai version, Stella was always fairy of the shining sun and moon, but the Nick version, Stella was always fairy of the shining sun.
Or it's because the of seasons didn't really flesh out her moon powers. Plus now shining sun sounds and rolls off the tongue better.
The 3D looks even more off and feels even more off when you consider that they probably had access to the models from Movie 1 and 2! It's baffling :(
Great video! I gotta say I was super disappointed by the fact that Sirenix felt so lackluster.. I mean, this is the transformation that was meant to be on par with Daphne and by this point Daphne almost felt like a legend herself. That being said I really loved how they dwelled a bit deeper into the curse that befell Daphne even if it didn’t make much sense at the end XD
Btw Diapason was iconic, wish she would have kept that power. Musa does feel like she’s at her best when summoning magical instruments to help her in battle, just like the flute in Domino.
I honestly felt like sirenix was supposed to look like what daphne wore when she was a ghost, but it’s unfortunately worse🥲
Yeah I wish we got more musical instruments spells from musa, they always look great
@@LisaFevral same. harmonix with a mask and some tweak would be more on brand with daphnes silhouette
@@LisaFevral Even Daphne herself felt like a downgrade once she transformed into Sirenix lol
I love how you can just immediately tell that you do not approve.
Musa's dance move during Sirenix is a twist on the dance move called Coffee Grinding.
I thought so too, but apparently it isn't omg
If it wasn’t for Straffi’s desire to make Winx Club successful in English speaking regions or his decision to lower the target age demographic, none of these problems that you pointed out, would’ve ever mattered. He thought it was a good idea to bring Brian Young to create a live-action adaptation that not only is super dark, but also turned the main characters into completely despicable b**ches. It promises to impress the old fans of Winx, who have grown to be adults, but it felt like a stone hard toe to the nads. Straffi has undoubtedly created the worst cartoon revival of all time!
yeah you are unfortunately right😔
Winx Club: How to make the worst cartoon revival of all time
@@robinsordahl8947 bro you made a literal paragraph
You are the first person I've seen to articulate my feelings about the winx club so well. The first 3 seasons are GOLD in my opinion, i could stand season 4 but something started to feel odd. and then season 5 happened and i just felt like this wasn't the winx anymore. if we could just start the story over starting from the end of season 3 that would be perfect in my opinion.
Yeah same, I wish it could be redone
They went realy downhill after season 6
One of the things that never made sense to me is how the winx never thought to use fairy dust to turn the mutants back like?? Technically the mutants are under a "dark spell" so why not use it? And even if it doesnt revert them back we know fairy dust has healing properties that could also heal them so why???
Exactly!!
It makes no sense that they don’t use it! But again, they made winx use Sirenix even above water and believix outside of earth, so they definitely aren’t using logic here at all
The theatrics, the fit, the pointer, the scalding hot takes, this video is everything
thank you🥰🥰
Harmonix should’ve been the sirenix design tbh. I love that you mention that.
THE BUTTERFLIES IN HER HAIR OH MY-
I haven't even watched the show but the amount of effort you put into these videos amazes me! They are so detailed and fun to watch. Better than Netflix atm for me
omg I'm glad you like it that much💛
yes it wasnt it for me
I kind of like that there was a block that was kept up by Sky but the event behind that block and the fact that Bloom can't heal him anymore annoyed me cause that block reminds me of a trauma thing that you probably wouldn't develop over a trinket
yeah season 5 was a bit... chaotic
it's also the season where the girls started to act more childish, Stella for example, became immature in the sense she was acting like a '3 year old' and the episode that talks about that the most is actually one where she TURNS INTO a 3 year old
justice for Stella! she has the biggest personality of the Winx imo.
You perfectly put into words why I can rewatch season 1-4 anytime but haven't finished 7 yet while barely remembering what was going on in 5 and 6.
It is a shame for the pretty designs that they had poor execution. I loved the design of Bloomix, it could have been a really cool warrior transformation maybe with tribute to the Company of light or so.
yeah, they really dropped the ball on the plot in later seasons
I can only watch 1-3 cause I refuse to watch Nabu die again
THANK YOU 👏🏾! THANK YOU for I am NOT the only one who realizes the transformations themselves are all identical. Like, look at Enchantix, Charmix/Magix, and Believix. Each outfit and accessories of the Winx are unique and different from each other. I can tell whose wings, outfits, and colors belong to who. I once played a Winx dressup game and I was so lost as to who owned what wings and outfits when it came to Sirenix and Harmonix. And the poses are pretty lackluster. I can still think of each Winx transformation pose and know who it was from.
omg yeah, 100%
even the POSES were the same
your edits crack me tf up 😭 i was cackling at "THANKS🤪"
AND it would make sense as to why Sirenix is needed
Ah yes, the clearance rack pixie season.
I am in LOVE with the UGH WHYYEEEE segment and I bet we will see more and more when we go trough later seasons hehe

As a winx club fan myself. *I agree with this whole video.*
The writers fundamentally didn’t understand the characters and the world they were writing for.
OMG in the last part your outfit casts a silhouette kinda like a butterfly wing behind you on the left 🦋
I consider dances more of a hangout not a real date.
Exactly!!! The moon controls tides. Stella could become so much powerful using the moon.
It could be a good plot, like: she never used the powers from her mother and she has to train plus maybe she has a personal reason why she doesn’t use them often, etc. It could be a very good character development!
12:52 That screen triggered a memory ! This is the plot point that made my 10 years old self quit the show !
it's just so ridiculous, I cant
20:26 My fidelity to Nabu is strong but I have to admit you have great taste.
ahahahah my boyyy

I didn't even watch this season but I'm still watching this. Honestly it's a travesty that Winx ended up this way.

@@b.h.4249 Oh i'm not even wasting my time watching any of these seasons lol! I wasted my time watching a few episodes of "Fate", I'm not watching anything other than the nostalgic Winx Club. The new adaptations are horrible!

@@LisaFevral yeah, I absolutely understand. Can’t wait to see your commentaries on the other seasons (although it’s pretty much down hill from here)
@@b.h.4249 girlll same, I wish I just had more people I could talk to about all those small details.
You really wanna know why my biggest pet peeve of this season is…
The selkies give the Winx a power boost, and before the EVER even get to use it, Tritannus escapes. And the selkies never boost the Winx ever again.
SO WHAT THE HECK WAS THE POINT OF SHOWING USE THE SELKIES COULD BOOST THE WINX’ POWERS IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
Patiently waiting for season 6 review, these are so interesting!!

It kinda defeats the whole purpose of a team.
and also makes it pointless for other fairies to exist at all haha
I know this season has its problems and that everyone's harmonix outfits look too similar, but good lord its one of my fave transformations from winx bcs that style and aesthetic is personally a big fave
it is really pretty, thats true
I absolutely hate what they did to Flora this season on. I believe that she's the type of person to be insecure in her relationship, even with a lot of reassurance, but she hasn't been before. And she's just downright MEAN to Helia. It's so out of character.
and she doesn't communicate with him, and that's like their THING

I wish they made a finale for us old fans of the earlier seasons to wrap at least the most important plot points out
honestly its so sad that we didn't get an inventive, creative adaptation, and got the vampire diaries 2.0 instead
@@luma4902 Yes yes yes 100%, after that I would have just accepted the fact that its over. I also hate how they keep making them young again this is how they're ruining it they're creating potholes in the plot nothing is making sense. And then It just leaves us older generations so confused
@@LisaFevral YEah For realll!! 😂😂 it actually hurts my soul
And what's annoying is if they want to dumb down Winx Clubs story/character/lore continuity so they "don't confuse the kids",they could've went all the way and hard-rebooted the show instead this half-assed soft reboot mess they've been going with since S5. It seems like S9 might be going this route.
I wish we got actual mermaid transformations this season, Mermaidix is right there and is so beautiful
THEY'RE BONDING
37:51 I always come back to this video just for this part. The violent smacking with the pointer and smirk makes me evaporate xD
Side note: your outfit is giving me Ice Cream (BLACKPINK & Selena) vibes
omg I've made a make up tutorial in this hat but a different swimsuit for Selena from that mv!
Ahaha. Lisa made a make up tutorial in this here ua-cam.com/video/liDAKYJFH54/v-deo.html
Oh yeah
Omg! you posted. I was craving more Winx Club analysis!!
I really enjoy how unintentionally funny the shots of the charging selkies are, though 😂
This season: "They're bonding!"
Me quoting Plankton: ALRIGHT I GET IT!!
Jokes aside, as a kid, I fell off watching Winx after the 4th season and since moved on to other things, like Johnny Test (which I'm still a big fan of) and so on.
And looking back at it now, there were good ideas in concept, but of course Nickelodeon literally threw everything but the kitchen sink out.
i really wonder what direction the series would’ve gone in if winx had not partnered with nickelodeon.
I honestly think about that a lot too
I agree so much with everything you say here.
I was meaning to watch their video, just haven't gotten around to it haha
and I'm glad you like it haha
Such a waste of potential. They barely used harmonix and it was over. I can't believe a writing team sat around a table and agreed on that horrid 3d design for sirenix. Embarrassing tbh
@@denimili7659 You thpught the 3D design for Sirenix was horrid, you should watch Foodfight, their CGI was so horrid, it makes the audience either throw up or scream their lungs out.
