Just started watching this, can't wait to watch it all. Congrats on getting RD on the Show, it certainly adds another layer of credibility to your Show (not that you needed it for anyone who has been watching your podcasts from day one). What you guys are trying to achieve, which includes honesty and transparency for the genuine and knowledgeable fans of Supercars, is really appreciated by those of us who have felt as though we have been left in the dark about a lot of things going on behind the scenes in Supercars. It's great for us to have an opportunity to share our thoughts here, as it's always nice to know that others share the same concerns we might have. It feels like we are not alone, so THANK YOU.
Appreciate the message! Glad you’re enjoying the podcast and we’re stoked to hear you’re feeling heard! It’s certainly something we’re very passionate about and the feedback we receive is what will help steer the pod into the right direction in the future.

They don't have to be someone you know or someone who is directly involved in your day to day life" I had to think long and hard about it and RD came to mind. When this man speaks.. You listen. He speaks with authority, He never gets into petty things, He never speaks on things he knows little about and he backs what he says. I would've loved to have grown up around this man and used him as a guide to conduct myself as a person. Great interview guys. You need to get him in the studio. Keep up the great work.

Bloody excellent guys, agreed with everything and enjoyed the whole 2 hours.. my only suggestion is your next pod has to make up for the lack of sound checks.. 😅 100% agree with live streaming on youtube. The only sport I watch is supercars and kayo charges me $35 a month which is a bloody rip off. Unfortunately I can't afford to watch any more races after Bathurst which sucks.
Agree. I've only watched Bathurst for at least a decade. Costs about 400 bucks for Sky subscription here in NZ. NASCAR is on free TV here now every weekend so that's my new motorsports fix.
@michaelcrane2475 this year Ive discovered the Goodwood Festival in the UK and Lemans was live on UA-cam aswell. Was excellent. Wouldn't have watched it otherwise.
Regarding Roland's answer about making Supercars more accessible to overseas viewers. I think the UA-cam idea is a good one. Shane's appearance in Nascar has made millions of Americans curious to see more Supercars. Here in NZ we have every Xfinity and Cup race on free TV now and to be honest, other than Bathurst I don't watch Supercars any more because I can't justify 400 bucks a year for a Sky TV subscription. That's why Supercars viewership has dropped off over the last decade. Your average yobbo hasn't got truck loads of money to throw around.
I like Roland after he's retired, but as a competitor and at the head of 888 he contributed to where we are now in a negative way with the sport. Where all engineering is almost out of it because noone could keep up. They crushed everyone by just being better, as a result we have teams wanting more control parts to remove that issue. Can't hate the man, absolutely respect him but by his own admission teams shouldn't be in a position to be so influential. That was the beauty of tony cochrane, one authority who was only in it for better of the sport/product.
Promoter could try a Summer Series with Euro spec Nascar and/or TA1 to match Speedway series could get some OS drivers and Supercars drivers run some night races at local tracks not used by Supercars...
What a year the 2006 Bathurst was... Lowndes and Whincup win the Peter Brock trophy and do it three times in a row, first for a Ford since 98 and first for T8, but also sadly fellow Kiwi Mark Porter, and co-driver for BJR at the time passed away on the Sunday from a support race crash on the Friday. Ohh and Skaife didn't make it up mountain straight from P1...
As the other commenter said, whatever RD said about SuperView is already there in the Supercars UA-cam channel (paywall aside) and it works. Only thing I wish it has is 50 or 60fps
He said it should be free with international commentary think it would be better with local option separate channel with just qualifying and race rather than buying full foxtel or kayo package just for fans of Supercars...
The biggest issue I have with commentary of Supercars is its intrinsic link to the "owner" of the sport. Commentators must be independent of the sport. There needs to be criticism and other opinions over how the sport is being managed. Using commentary teams to talk up rule changes or to nullify criticism by drivers in off the cuff comments is awful IMHO. Sandown had Larko talking up the "main drivers starting" issue and Skaife being subtely chided by Crompton for veiled criticism of the FCY situation illustrates this very issue. Both those rule changes are or were controversial at best and deserving of analysis by a very experienced commentary team. Alas, however, they are part of the corporate monster that is Supercars.
