Egypt are not as poor as people think. I hear some say, they dont have oil, just tourism. But they also have a huge income from the Suez canal. It costs each cargo vessel around $550,000 dollars to go through. In 2024 Egypt earned over $12 billion from the canal alone
Billy, I started watching your channel and subscribed a couple of months ago. I liked it due to your nuanced, considered approach to everything you might see or encounter. You tell it how it is, and in a plausible, sensitive way. 2 days ago an interview came up on my UA-cam home screen with you, I was like, hold on, didn't think the channel was so big, so quickly, it will be our kid though. So I watched and learnt about your story, the book, and upcoming book and the fucking movie. Mate! Had to write something to show you firstly an acknowledgement of your colourful life, and secondly that you're here to do great things, carry on. The autistic realisation that you spoke briefly about touched something in my life too. I'll shut up now 😊

On the face of it those people look poor in comparison to people in the slums of the UK, but it's not relative. I guarantee that these people are happier than most of us, and they understand worth. We're a materialistic throw away society who values the wrong things. I've spoken to quite a few foreigners who thought coming to England would be great, and at first it was, but they soon came to realise it has made them a lot more unhappy than they were in poor conditions in their respective countries. I've met some amazing people who have nothing. And I've met some truly horrible people who have everything.
I totally agree with you. UK was voted the second most miserable country in the world which proves that wealth and cash doesn't lead to a happier life. If community is dead, as it is in many places in UK, and spiritual need goes unrecognized, as is the case in UK, and the weather is too cold and rainy, like the UK......then people won't make up for those things with any amount of material advantage
I was saying the same thing when I saw the 2 boys @9:05. Their eyes, despite the squalid conditions they're living in, did not show any sadness, the eyes are usually a big giveaway. They have nothing materialistic, but look so much happier than a lot of kids you see today in the UK that have the materialistic stuff. All the kids in that area seem to know each other which is good, so that must play a big role in the community spirit and togetherness.
@@AJ-xv7oh These slums are poorer than comparators in the UK. But, if they are worried about where their next meal comes from, please can you explain why none of them look worried? There is too much you don't about Egypt to make a sound conclusion. Over there, a man can marry up to 4 wives. It's very common, that these men have other wives to make them and their kids meals, as well as the tourists that help them out. Unless you've lived in Egypt, you cannot make judgements about how life is there. You don't have enough information to do that.

Hi Billy, I hope your holiday is going well. PLEASE PLEASE do an audit around silverdale st5. Pj and dj did one there last year. The community are NOT HAPPY with the smell from the landfill. It will make an epic audit.
The main thing about any place is the people. Those Egyptians all seem friendly and, fair enough, they are on the blag, but even when you dont buy from them they will still leave you with a smile and jokey banter. I know cos Ive been to Egypt. If you compare with some of the reactions here in Britain, "stop filmin me" "you arent allowed to film" etc. I think Id be happier in that society. Money and possessions arent everything. What matters is spiritual richness which is internal, as well as been around people that love and cherish each other as a close community. They are things worth far more than anything money can buy
Weathers looking nice in Manchester today 😊 to be honest you see worse in the Philippines slums.. the friendliest people in the world can be the poorest. They are gracious... not entitled like some of ours. You have a big heart Billy ❤

It's very common, that these men have other wives to make them and their kids meals, as well as the tourists that help them out. Unless you've lived in Egypt, you cannot make judgements about how life is there. You don't have enough information to do that.
Great video Billy enjoy holiday thank you 🙏 for great video xxx
You've got the right idea lad. Minus 7.5 here and it looks lovely and warm there.
I believe you would absolutely like el gouna. You may give three corners ocean view elgouna a try.I wish you a happy upcoming week to make you forget what you have walked through.Greatings from egypt.I am a big fan.
Egypt had an Empire once too…

No matter where you go billy , you’re always helping out ❤such a good heart . Enjoy your holiday with your family ❤
Weathers looking nice in Manchester today 😊 to be honest you see worse in the Philippines slums.. the friendliest people in the world can be the poorest. They are gracious... not entitled like some of ours. You have a big heart Billy ❤

Slum life tips , take local driver with you for 30 mins walk around.
You are safer in the slums with a local than a foreigner alone.
I am familiar with Manila slums barangay 105 tondo.
Stay safe Billy can be dangerous walking in to slums alone as a foreigner .
That boy suddenly stopped, stared up and looked as if he'd just seen an alien 👽 😂

It's the temples and the pyramids. Ancient Egypt was a society very advanced for it's time in history. Many are fascinated by the mysteries of ancient Egypt. It will always draw in many tourists

Been to Egypt many times for work, and the in-your-face begging strategy is amongst the best in the world, lol - ''tipy, tipy, tipy and more tipy''. Amazing place for a holiday though, including best scuba diving spots in the world!
Poor things in them slums makes our poor estates look like palaces x

it puts everything in perspective doesn't it, we need to watch more of this sort of thing to level our heads, we think we have it bad when there are people living so much worse but the thing is, look at how much happier they are.
