Geothermal energy doesn't have to compete with solar PV but rather nuclear power. Geothermal is fully dispatchable and can therefore backstop the variability of solar and wind and thus fully replace oil & gas for energy generation.
Hydrogen was pushed by the fossil fuel industry because they currently make hydrogen from hydrocarbons (i.e. “natural” gas). In reality, a hydrogen economy would be cost prohibitive and inevitable hydrogen leaks would combine with oxygen in the atmosphere to increase water vapor which would make climate change worse. It may have a small role to play but it’s not the future; the future is solar. ☀️…and the future is today. Solar is already growing exponentially; outpacing every other energy type in terms of new installations.
@ carbon dioxide is also a very minor greenhouse gas but when it heats the atmosphere slightly, it causes an increase in water vapor which is the main driver of climate change.
@@tmharperjr human activities barely have an impact on amount of water vapor in the atmosphere. And besides the amount of water formed during leaks would be completely dwarfed by what other parts of the water cycle produce like plants for example. My point is that unlike CO2 water vapor is not a long term greenhouse gas.
@ultimately, it’s the methane leaked during the production of the hydrogen that poses the greatest risk. Once all hydrogen is green hydrogen, I’ll happily jump on the bandwagon again but for now, blue hydrogen produced from methane is our primary source of the stuff. That’s why the fossil fuel industry keeps promoting it.
A little more disruptive? More than 1%? Disruptive means revolutionary; 300% 10,000%. Pluvicopia is 100% disruptive. Do numerical modeling for that and make a real revolution. But, no, academia just muddles and mumbles along.
Hahaha! You're such an awesome, cool, funny person! It's comments like these that show everyone how amazing you are! I hope you feel great having made fun of those less fortunate than yourself so we all know just how much better you are than them!
I love to hear that people are rediscovering geothermal energy.
Awesome video & great info, cheers
Whoa I didn't remember Nagi was out in Oregon now!!

waveenergi is expensive energi ?
I hope all the folks in this video can proceed without federal assistance. Trump and Musk are in power now.

water vapour is a very minor greenhouse gas because it quickly condenses.

H2 a refinery coproduct. Whats the coproducts of solar panel production?
COW FARTZ!!!! Feed the cows Beano then there will 'be-no' cow fartz!

If Portland heated their sidewalks we'd never get rid of the homeless people.
