First of all, you might want to use the white filter. There isn't any rolloff and is the purest form of reproduction from the Qutest. As presented using the green filter " Designed for purists in mind, who playback high sample rate PCM recordings, this option has an ultra linear frequency response with a high frequency filter past 20kHz to remove HF distortion and noise from these recordings. This includes a 16FS to 256FS WTA2 filter with the HF filter enabled" while it might be very slight...any removal of frequencies will change the tonal reproduction of the playback. I also notice you are using the "optical" input (also green LED) of the inputs available on the Qutest..which is the most limiting. I don't know the resolution of the source material..but the USB or either of the two (BNC) coaxial inputs have a wider range of decoding. I also agree that there is an imbalance between output levels which makes things more difficult to judge. Also...I will presume that both the Mytek and Qutest had been used long enough to eliminate that new "burn in" harness that exists. The Qutest does have a harsh midrange push which until burnt out..which can be a little off putting sonically. But based on existing parameters....I found the Mytek was slightly more open, detailed and "analog" in it's playback. The violins..especially were more rich and vibrant. Interesting analysis.
@@AUDIO.and.SCOTCH more than acceptable. No two people hear the same thing the same way anyway. Both are solid DACs ..each has strengths and weaknesses. I was referring to the input into the Qutest. The color was green so I presumed you were using the digital input. Of course it was rca out..that is the only way it can be done as there aren't any rca inputs.
I'm using a $10 coaxial cable with the mytek Liberty. it is a hobby, and will always try to be as fair as possible. both the mytek and the qutest have different connection, I was able to use the same interconnects (cables)
@@AUDIO.and.SCOTCH I'm glad to hear Qutest is warm and smooth but I doubt Liberty has more separation & detail. Qutest measurements are SOTA! I think they both have as much detail & separation but Qutest is warmer and smoother!😀
Dynamic range and balance seem very similar. Chord puts everything forward in a slightly smaller space. Mytek spreads the instruments out a bit. Chord creates music in the way we are used to from radio and old time records, holistic and gutsy. Mytek dissects the music, but is enjoyable in a more cerebral way, shedding light in hidden areas of the music. It's nice to have choices.
Mytek for the win !!! (More body to the sound, less listener fatigue also.)
Thanks for watching.
Qutest ! What a Beautiful sound.
Mytek number one!!!!!! 100000000000%

An actually useful video about audio needs no talking. Thanks.
Thank you for watching.
Thanks for watching.
wich do you preefer in terms of 3D soundstage, separation and imaging?
I prefer the liberty. It is jut my opinion. But the Qutest has different filters.
use a linear power supply for Liberty. Much is better than the impulse power supply of the IFI. The output for headphones is not good for Liberty ...
Try using a portable power pack used for recharging a mobile phone to power the Qutest.
What power setting do you select on start up ?
Mytek 👌

pjones8404 thanks for your feed back, tried the white filter but did not sound better to me. RCAs were used in this test.

To my ears, the two don't sound level-matched. The Liberty sounded louder.
cablebrain thank for your feedback.
Mytek Liberty !👍
So which do you prefer?
The qutest is warm and smooth, while the Liberty is more detail . I prefer the Liberty .
And between Chord and Topping D70?

Frank Wong thanks for your feed back.
Why to many Qutest is bright and to some it is warm ?
I would like more comparisons with Liberty
Check my other videos. Thanks for watching.
power supply ifi worth money?
It is good if you can’t afford the $300 one.
Mytek for the win!
Mytek sounds better... more fun to listen to music
Thank you for watching 🗽👌.

qutest has lot more inner details without any brightness.
mytek играет четче!
Quttest sound more airly on my ears, and its hard to judge other things cuze quality this record bad, almost mono
