Everything about this is spot on. The weird hobbies, the philosophical thoughts, the realization that no one cares anymore because they are busy taking care of other humans...
Plus the reality that parents get completely engulfed with "being parents" and turn into lifeless zombies who you don't even recognize anymore. Before baby is born they're so convinced they can live the same life they did prior to being a parent and reality hits them *hard* until all they have left is a screaming, stinking, annoying child that's attached to them 24/7/365. Hence why most parents nowadays just plop their kid in front of a screen and ignore them for hours on end
@Kitsudoku I've seen you in a few comments on this video and I get a strong impression you're convincing yourself kids aren't worth it with extremely negative views. Not a healthy look, man. People can be happy with or without kids. Having my kid run across the school parking lot into my arms after a school day is one of the greatest feelings ever. My best friend lost her father years ago. Because her parents were divorced, her father lived alone and it was her father's employer that noticed something was wrong when he didn't show up for work. It's because of them that his body was found promptly. I've always been glad that someone paid attention and cared enough to make sure he didn't go unaccounted for. My friend took it, understandably, hard, but it gave her some comfort, I think, to know that her father's employer recognized something was wrong so quickly.
I'm only an auntie and I agree! Or the bathroom door swinging wide open when you are taking a shower and the door nob stopped locking because it is too wiggly/loose from the kids constantly wiggling it.😳🙄
A family in knew as a kid had a mandatory 1 hour nap rule for everyone in the house from birth to highschool graduation. When i was a kid I thought it was so the toddler wouldn't be woken from his nap by other kids playing and running; now I know the parents just needed that hour. Some of the best parents I knew. Especially if you're an introverted parent, raise your kids with your own limitations in mind. They needed an hour a day, and we loved them.
It was called "quiet time" in my house. I didn't have to take a nap per se, but I had to either read or play quietly in my room. Didn't bother me one bit lol. Kids need their own time to themselves too sometimes...it helps them to be more independent and creative imo.

They're tough as nails. Dad just turned 60 and is just starting to slow down. I've gotten my head bashed in multiple times and was completely healed less than a month later. I've had broken bones, fractures, burns, cuts deep enough to land me in the ER, and even a concussion and a bone bruise at one point...completely healed all of it in less than a month without even slowing down...the men in my family are built different. The women too. And I'm the most unique in my family by far.
Yeah, all the upsides of having kids with none of the downsides. Nothing's better than being the cool uncle/aunt, and when the kids start getting on your nerves you can just return them to their parents.
@TokyoXtreme Yeah, that sounds great and all but that doesn't happen to everyone. If it did, you wouldn't have parents out there who have shaken, beaten, abused and straight up killed their children because their brains didn't change.
Spot on. However, there’s nothing wrong with having kids if you can be a good parent. There’s these weird “anti natalist” people that think having kids is wrong. And you see these weird subreddits of single people lashing out at couples with kids, that’s not me.
Even those with large families, have died alone. I see this all the time in nursing homes. Some kids live in different states and hardly check on their parents. Ofcourse, even those who live close, don't care either unless they want to remain in the will.
Yeah the difference between being single and being married is that being single isn't exactly as easy as it used to be and the assumption that it is gives a lot of people a pass to look down on you. My boss thinks because I'm single that my time is unlimited so he's constantly abusing my time, my parents think I don't need help with anything financially during this economic downturn because I don't have kids and that's the only expensive thing in society, I don't get promotions even though I work harder as a result of my free time being "available" because the people with kids need the money more and are trying to grow their career, and the zeitgeist is against me because once people figure out I'm not married that I'm somehow a man child. Mix all that in with the existential dread and depression of being alone all the time that it pushes anyone that is potentially available in their 30s away because they see you as a downer or "alone for a reason". But it's cool because I can drink to offset all of that and stay up late with the TV volume louder than 3.

Sounds like you work too much and pay rent and that's hard man those two things alone plus utilities is hard for anyone, I don't think we should have to pay for utilities personally I think it should be payed by tax dollars of anyone who makes over 2 mil a year and 300,000 be put into it and it benefits them as well because it would cover there utility's, and the state would have to be held responsible to make sure that money given goes into utilities. But nope according to them we're robbing them I get how they feel but no wer not they owe it by making more they have what can help us and they live off our resources just as much as we do there's.
In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth. He created humans too to have a relationship with Him. That's our purpose as humans that have a relationship with God. Sin, however, messed that up because it made us imperfect and imperfect creatures cannot have a relationship with a perfect and holy God. That's why we so oftentimes feel empty, unsatisfied and unaccomplished because we're not in relationship with the God we were created to be in a relationship with. But that's where Jesus comes in. Jesus is God's son and He came down to earth in human form to live the same life we do yet unlike us He never sinned. Jesus is perfect. Yet despite the fact He is perfect He died on the cross for our sins and sacrifice Himself for us. The punishment for our sins is death but because Jesus took that punishment for us if we put our faith in Him and receive Him as Lord and savior we can be reconciled to God and be restored to that relationship we were created to have. And we can be sure that Jesus is the Son of God because on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and in that He defeated death and the grave, proving that He can do the same for us if we put our faith in trust in Him. That's how you get to Heaven. That's how you become full in your heart. That's how you become reconciled to the God who created you.

No way I did not meet the man I married till my friends all had kids. Enjoy your single life spouses have opinions!

But nope according to them we're robbing them I get how they feel but no wer not they owe it by making more they have what can help us and they live off our resources just as much as we do there's.
This is literally a conversation between my dad and my uncle 😂
Which one has kids?
Frankly, I’m good dying alone.
I'm sorry to hear that

Most of these people were super social and constantly hung out with other families and friends, but they went home every night to loneliness and depression with nobody of their own. I say you either make a family, or get ready to die alone. As a former paramedic, and currently a Nurse, I can say for a FACT that dying alone is a terrible thing.
Oh man i have been repeating that last part for so dang long. My sister is really envious of my easy life but the crushing realization that there won't be anyone to visit me if I get old is starting to get to me.
Tell me you regret having kids, without telling me you regret having kids. The most accurate thing with the smile on his face when he says he’ll die alone, I smile when I say that too.
“I mean even if climate change doesn’t kill us the robots will!” 😂😂😂 I DIED
The thing about living like that is both statements are true. Doesn't change how much anxiety I have on a daily basis, but I definitely have it way easier than my friends who are actually competent & productive people
Damn that end is relatable
