I'll say what I always tell the content makers I follow on YT, and that's you should do what you want with your channel. It's your time and effort put into creating stuff for us to enjoy, but you should also enjoy making it, or what's the point really? If you decide you want to mix up your schedule, and types of videos you create, go for it. I know I'll be here for whatever you end up choosing.

I feel so much better after watching this, I was feeling so behind and guilty about all my plants that I’ve not got round to putting in the ground yet!! Glad to see it’s not just me

It’s all coming along. The thing with gardening is that it teaches us that we all get there in the end. Sometimes we are ahead, sometimes we feel behind. Some things work, some don’t flourish. But there is always a harvest in the end, as long as we keep going.
By the way, I love your jumper. How cute is that bird?!

I agree with others encouraging you to create the content you want to create and what feels most relevant for what’s going on in your garden as opposed to being constrained by a strict topic regimen.

Apart from a few nice days it’s been the worst spring for many years, cool , wet and windy, most people are way behind.
    Hopefully a better summer.

My plot is so new and still being built out and needing beds, I’m so glad to see someone else’s polytunnel still growing things that are desperate to be planted 😅.
As a side note, I’m very much an advocate for, it’s your channel to do as you want/need 🫶🏼 x

Always a treat to see what happening in your plot. I haven’t planted anything other than annals. Our weather seem go from rain, hot, cold,to rain again. We are excepting a beautiful rest of the week, so planting for us is on a small scale. Wishing you much success with your garden. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍❤️🙂

I love the variety of plants you have in your greenhouse. They are all looking really great. I often plant too many seeds and end up with a greenhouse full of seedlings with no space to plant them. 😄 This season I am determined to plant out all of my seedlings. I am nearly there, just beetroot left I think. 😊 Also, I know what you mean about putting pressure on yourself when it comes to creating content. I am slowly learning to go with the flow too, as a new content creator, and just creating videos that are fun and will hopefully help others in the garden. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks, Kelly 😊🌱🌻

It is an odd year here in the Northwest of the US. End of May and we still have frost warnings! Garden is planted, so lots of covering plants and uncovering plants. Love your poly tunnel, messy or not! A place of productivity and life. 🙂

I always use pots for growing tomatoes and they grow really well. I have many different varieties and keep some indoors in the glasshouse and some are kept outdoors, so both ways are very successful.

So heartening to hear that so many are struggling this year. I thought it was me and somehow I had lost my touch. So disheartening. Germination has been so poor and really, really struggling with peat free compost. I am on my third sowing of sweetcorn. Really reluctant to put anything on the allotment as it is so wet, cold and choked with weeds which seem to spring up overnight! They say it is going to be warmer and drier next week. So fearful for my lovingly raised plants!

I'm a beginner and I don't understand the peat free business, I've seen some videos where people use peat to help the plants but feel like they need to apologise or have done a dirty thing. Is it part of the climate change agenda?

I really enjoy your videos, real life gardening :D. My plot is coming along, I'm about an hour south of you and it's also been cold after all the wet, so the tender stuff hasn't moved at all. My onions are in but way behind. On the sweetcorn seeds, I've found they dont like it too wet or cold and turn to mush really easily, so indoors in early May tends to work best for me. I'm trying Black Beauty tomatoes too this year, they sound great! Happy gardening.

Good luck with all of the tomatoes...Mine are still in 9cm pots! Going out this weekend... if it isn't wet again.🌧

For the first time I’ve brought tomato, pepper and chilli plants from a nursery because I have struggled so badly this year 😢 Since you mentioned it I now wonder if it is the compost, but some seedlings (mostly flower seedlings and one courgette…) have done fine 🤔
I’ve never struggled with slugs until this year either🙈 Your video has made me feel better though!

I’ve had terrible germination rates and then weak seedlings. Last year was my first ever gardening year and tomatoes, sunflowers and courgettes did so well, this year I’ve learned a lot more but they’ve done so badly. I’ve been re sowing and re sowing. I’d spent quite a lot on what I thought would be good compost this year too.

Kevin from Michigan here, I too am having difficulty with my corn seedlings🌱, some i planted in trays and some I planted in the ground, the ones in the trays are 2 weeks old and nothing comes up ,and the ones I planted in the ground the (toads ) 🐸are eating the tops off ,so I had a bunch of Styrofoam cups I cut the bottoms off to make a little teepee to keep the toads away so will see how that works out 🙏🙏zucchini and summer squash are doing well and cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are doing fabulous, good luck with ten thousand tomatoes you are going to have pretty soon 😁😁😁snap peas and carrots and lettuce 👌👍and how are the fish doing ?still alive ? Anyway best wishes Katrina 👋👋

In answer to your first question: slugs are a major problem this year. Seriously damaged my emerging Dahlias whilst I was working away, however luckily I have just had a potting shed installed so rapidly moved them inside and they seem to have recovered.
Aside from that all is well.
I've invested in some snazzy Pelargoniums, but being plug plants I'm not convinced they'll amount to much this year.
Tomato wise I've cheated and bought 2 varieties from a nursery as the potting shed was delayed and I've been really busy with work. Interesting to see your growing Tigerella as it's one of my favorites. Looking forward to seeing your heritage varieties. I've a fondness for growing tomatoes.

The super hot chillies always take longer than their milder counterparts. I always try and get them as much light as possible. Find the bhut jolokia a bit poor on flavour when I've grown them. Tend to stick with the Trinidad moruga scorpion for the similar heat.

Its crazy this year for me in nottingham but I do whinge about the weather alot! Everything is so slow this year. Constant grey clouds no direct sunshine im growing alot of chillies and they need this! and they are in my house to at least get some warnth. My garlic has all gone thin and just hating thisnyear for some reason. Lettuces are lovely though. For some reason this year is the year of rhe radish for me. One self seeded and got into my home made compost. Every pot, plot and even in the greenhouse in between the tomatoes. But they taste great.

  • @kristinpagan2361
    @kristinpagan2361 Місяць тому

Looks like your going to be busy planting soon! That's also alot of tomatoes! My garden space is a lot smaller but I tend to go for 3 or 4 tomatoes and mine grew well this past southern hemisphere summer.
The weather has been quite odd. El Nino wasn't quite in full effect and was a bit broken this year making things cooler but much drier and with winter knocking on the door here, we don't normally get as many frosty mornings below -4C (24.5 degrees) but we've already had 4 days where it's been -6C (21 degrees) before "warming" up. So this years winter might be a bit more "brutal".

My Crimson Crush tomatoes are already 2ft high and thriving in the greenhouse, and the peppers, sown at the same time as the tomatoes, are about 3 inches high :( and struggling so far. New potatoes should be ready by the end of June. Runner beans are scrambling up their hazel poles whereas their climbing bean competitors don't know where the starting line is, and the apple trees look like they're going to have a spectacular year.

Hi, thanks for the new video. Now since you mentioned those onions, it looks like we all have that "one" crop. for instance I had a problem with carrots all the time. bad seed? not enough water? bad soil, too dense? I really don't know. but carrots don't seem to like me :D. Nice diverse selection of plants you got there as well. I really hope you don't get the same slug damage as we did. My Hokkaido squash bed was decimated by slugs.

It's only my second season of growing and I think ignorance was on my side because I just planted stuff out at the usual months irrespective of the weather. I've struggled with slugs, but I've already had 4kg of salad, radish, early sprouting broccoli and spring onions. I've done a TON of resowing and replanting though because of the wet and the slugs. As I say I feel like either pure stubborness, luck, or just ignorance has been helpful to me here in my garden in Merseyside.
