From WC, USA, If you think that the Germans couldn’t handle this fighter any better than the U.S. fighter pilots, then you don’t know the Germans! Or at least the ones from the 60’s and 70’s as I can’t speak for the current crop of German fighter pilots!
So about 2000 pilots were trained on the Starfighter Jet in Germany. Many had flown the 104 over 2000h, or even well over 3000h flight hours. The German pilots wanted to fly exactly this jet and loved it. The JaboG34 in Memmingen had 242785h flight hours on F-104 in the squadron. Only one of 11 operational units of the German Air Force at that time with Starfighter. Without the flight hours of the German pilots during the training in Luke AFB/USA. I don't think that so many flight hours were flown in the USA on the 104 in the US.................

Nannte man auch Witwenmacher.
Too advanced plane for Germany. Pilots couldn't handle these hot rods.
