That's what I have been doing with my 8 y/o, and got him a little 1/24 crawler also as that really helps teach control.

Good advice on the RC cars. I bought a hobby grade FTX for my son, with plenty of spares and upgrades available, for the same price as a toy that couldn't be easily fixed once broken.
I can second Traxxas. I got a Truck called the Rustler at the age of 12 myself. They still make it, and its much faster now. Should also have many parts for it
Traditional jbweld with submerged paperclips is what I'd use to fix that plastic suspension. Jbweld both between the parts and externally with a flexible reinforcement like ziptie or paperclip is usually by far the strongest route and it bonds perfectly so long as you rough up the plastics and ziptie a bit.
It's annual. Should be perennial for what you're wanting. People plant annual rye grass in their gardens before winter to be turned under in the spring for great nutrients for the soil.
I moved into a 4 year old house in 1989 and the first year, rye sprouted in my backyard. I never planted it and it’s adjacent to the native vegetation that has still never been cleared, so I assume that the original owner seeded the area. I never mow it and it dies back in our hot summers but 33 years later it is still coming back every winter. While it is annual, it will reseed itself.

If the epoxy does not work then mix CA glue (super glue) and baking soda together. It creates a solid that is really hard and will hold. Had to do the same thing to my son's about 10 years ago.
Graphite works great too. I use it on my guitar nut grooves to raise a low string. It works better than baking soda because it allows the string to slide better. ..If you’re into that stuff :-)

Matt, the cheap Hosim RC cars off Amazon are great! You can get one for about $80 and you can get replacement parts as well as upgrade the diff to all metal gears plus you can get oil filled shocks for it. It'll also do around 35mph
Annual ryegrass doesn't grow back after winter. Yes it will seed some at end of winter for spring, but it's annual, not perennial. It's also a bigger grass than annual. 13 years on a grass seed farm.
For rc cars Definitely say look into traxxas or aarma. They have good brushless options you can turn down or gear down. Parts are readily available at local hobby stores. They also have great support from the companies.

One tip for the RC car; Get a Traxxas Rustler XL-5. There should be a function called training mode on the remote witch limits the speed till he doesn't crash. Another thing with the Traxxas rc cars is that there is spare parts for everything. So if something breaks, you can just get a new part.
Hopefully that you will be able to get the other property that you are trying to get matt. If you do end up selling the river property can't wait to see what the other property is.

Traxxas rc cars have the ability to limit the throttle so they don't go too fast for beginners plus the ability to upgrade and unlock the full potential later on
Get him a Traxxas RC! They have a ton of models (including slower ones), are hobby grade (very well made), and Traxxas is based in DFW so parts are very easy to get. They sell every little part that could break individually. Great brand for him to get into and well supported here in the US.
While spreading seed “works”. I have found in my area disturbing the soil with a rake, drag… or better yet putting the seed just under the soil with a grain drill it takes less seed for better results. But if you had rain coming it should be fine. That is a nice looking piece of property.

Hey Matt get link a Traxxas XRT or a sledge you can gear it to the perfect speed for him and they are hard to break very good bash trucks parts are reasonable if you do break it it would take a lot to break tho
I don’t know how much luck you had gluing the RC truck, and I’m not sure how well it would work in your particular instance, but Surehold makes a super glue for plastics that kinda “bites” into plastic sorta like pvc glue does. It is called “Plastic Surgery Gel”. I’ve had pretty good luck with it in the past.
On the Rc truck that plastic binder won’t hold for long. You’re best bet is to go to a local hobby shop and usually they can get you the single part or the parts kit for cheaper. I fly rc planes and race rc trucks. Just speaking from experience.
That's the dummy one he bought to have on there when he's not using the gun. He only has the real one on there when he's going to be shooting it. Like in the latest Demo Ranch video.
Matt, get him some Traxxas cars. They have tons of parts available and are easy to fix. They also have tons of after market upgraded parts to make the RC car stronger. Had an E-Revo and TMaxx 3.3 as a kid. Loved those cars and I beat them to hell without issue
Just got to say, there is nothing suspicious about a man parking in Home Depot with a machine gun mounted on the rollbar and wearing a backpack entering the store. Then buying a bunch of grass........I mean grass seed. 😉
GET LINCOLN A TRAXXAS. Parts are readily available and you can buy single parts. Plus you can limit them till he gets some more experience then turn it up when he's ready. Perfect backyard basher.
Matt , here in Iowa... if you seed hard packed ground like that looks to be... you dont get one blade up... ya got to brake the crust to get any growth
The tough part is that annual rye is a one and done (and maybe hope it reseeds itself). Note it says temporary on the bag. Good starter for perennial grasses though!

The best place to run them is in a sand pit or an open field around your house anywhere there is curbs or trees you just going to smash into them, even a grown up playing with these things ends up hitting something so you need open space less chance of breaking them but if you flip them a lot depending on the types of rims you have the rims can break as well from rolling and bouncing and flopping when you lose control

Matt if ya happen to have a 3D printer in the shop you could print the replacement part…
He would have to design it as I doubt there are files for a cheap rc car. Also I don't think he knows and cad as that is something he would have shown by now if he did
@@benthebuilder6934 Mere could design it in like an hour, then send the file to a printer.
@The Elegant Artist I thought about that but I'm not sure if she does cad or just 2d stuff at this point
Get Link the Redcat Volcano 16. Very durable truck. We often challenge people to try and break it by driving it. No one has... Yet...!
Hey Matt get link a Traxxas XRT or a sledge you can gear it to the perfect speed for him and they are hard to break very good bash trucks parts are reasonable if you do break it it would take a lot to break tho
👍👍
I would start with a Rustler. Way more affordable and his level, but still capable of upgrading later on.
Matt is definitely buying a whole town😅
I said "renovating an abandoned town?"!!
San antonio is now his 🤣🤣🤣
@@jordancardona9221 I'm betting its a large ranch in Montana...
Either that or the Alamo.
Nope he's buying Disney out!.....lol...
So happy to hear about the family that won the truck!
ooooh.... hopefully you found an abandoned ghost town... aka bunkertown
Bunkertown is a GREAT name!!!!!
@@OffTheRanch i would drop the w and call it "Bunkerton"
@@OffTheRanch that many !!!! Says everything we need to know!!!!!!
😂🤣😂
On the Rc truck that plastic binder won’t hold for long. You’re best bet is to go to a local hobby shop and usually they can get you the single part or the parts kit for cheaper. I fly rc planes and race rc trucks. Just speaking from experience.
Matt sporting the M2 canon on the truck at Home Depot!!! 😂😂
Is that tree outlet up to code @13:24 ? Lol ⚡☠
I have that same RC truck. You can get aluminum hop up parts for cheap and they are way stronger
can anyone say MONTANA GHOST TOWN??? LOL... love the vids bro. Happy new year!
That's what I said as well..lol
We have faith in you my Man. Get some you are the leader of the demolitia
Great job feeding the birds! Jk, I hope the rye takes.
We will see you next time!
I love that Mere laughs when she bouncing the impala!
Just got to say, there is nothing suspicious about a man parking in Home Depot with a machine gun mounted on the rollbar and wearing a backpack entering the store. Then buying a bunch of grass........I mean grass seed. 😉
Fertilizer, now...that would have set off alarms.....i would hope! :)
He is from Texas!! You can do stuff like that in Texas and not be looked at as strange.
GET LINCOLN A TRAXXAS. Parts are readily available and you can buy single parts. Plus you can limit them till he gets some more experience then turn it up when he's ready. Perfect backyard basher.
Side note: mere never watches the episodes, so she'll never know what Matt wants for Christmas 😂😂😂
Matt , here in Iowa... if you seed hard packed ground like that looks to be... you dont get one blade up... ya got to brake the crust to get any growth
Matt pretending his name is Carlos just proves he’s my biggest fan.
The plastic bonder definitely works. My son broke his toy the same way. I fixed it using the same technique and it hasn't failed.
The truck winner story just warms my heart
The tough part is that annual rye is a one and done (and maybe hope it reseeds itself). Note it says temporary on the bag. Good starter for perennial grasses though!
How much will you sell the land for? Would definitely be interested.
Judging by the size of the property and having well and electric and an out building I'm sure over 50k
He won't read your comment - need to check put his website & contact him that way.
@@wrenchaholic_ I do not know, but I would guess about 300K.
@@wrenchaholic_ Definitely way more than 50k. You'd be lucky to find any property near any towns that have utilities, amenities and natural landmarks for anything less than 500k.
Matt I hope that you make it there and fulfill your dreams about what ever is coming up
@OffTheRanch_1.... ?
Praying for you!
Lol Matt's buying a ghost town isn't he
