Thanks for getting to this video so quick! Great content. I would also love to see a video on your interior workflow. I haven't been able to find a good rhythm yet. Your input is priceless to me and so many others!
Hi Luke, could you provide an update on this info, as to how Square has been working out for you since this video was released? Are there any, newer/more effective payment methods? Thank you for your insights!
Tipping can be a touchy subject. I understanding tipping for an employee of a company but if this is your own business and you are the only employee I can understand when people do not tip. Even though a driver for Uber or Lift are their own employee and they use their own car but they have to share their income with the ride service company so that is why I tip them just like a barber they have to share that income with the person that owns the shop. If I charge $400.00 for a car I don’t expect a tip because they know all that money goes to me.
Im 21, and really I got into it when I was about 13, and honestly I just have always had an entrepreunerial spirit, I think its just something I've always been, not really something I thought about becoming or doing, so car detailing just naturally followed that
Do you have a business bank account that is connected to the square trade app? Have you had any trouble not getting paid using the app? I like the idea but want to protect myself as well. Great video!
I would get a separate business bank account, but not necessarily for the square, but just when you open an LLC or sole proprieter, you kind of have to have a separate bank account for your business.... but no I have never had any trouble getting paid through square
Hi Wilson i have problems un the time to pay cuz everybody Love's my job but Say it's so expensive bit my full detail it's for less the 100 and I need go down for that now 25,30 ,45 still is too much , what u think and tips pliss
Hey Luke, DCAutoWorkz here! I have square but don’t use it very often. Can you use it for scheduled washes to automatically come out every month or how ever scheduled?
That’s a great question, I will have to look into the automated charge thing, I know that you can log customers into the square so you can have monthly customers that you charge a certain amount, and rather than adding it all up every month you can just click their name, swipe the card, and your done. But I will check into the automation!
Hey Luke John from Carefree Auto Detailing in LongIsland NY how does square work with state sales tax. Is there a quarterly printout they make available or do you need to keep track
You can actually include sales tax in the square payment, just go to settings, and you can input the percent so that it automatically charges sales tax with each transaction, does that answer your question?
Wilson Auto Detailing thanks but I wasn't clear enough. Does square provide you with a quarterly printable statement of taxes that you can just give to your accountant. If you can and have time you can call me at 631-942-6282 to much gets lost in this texting stuff
Yes I think I understand now, as far as tax records, square keeps analytics and records for all of those things, so I basically do exactly what you just said, I keep my quarterly statements for that purpose exactly, square keeps all of that for me
I totally understand!!! Paypal is good too, only thing being your customer may say "thanks Ill pay pal you in an hour" and then they forget, and it is awkward having to stay on top of customers and keep asking them to pay you...
Thank you for explaining square.
I just had my first “contactless” transaction yesterday. Seamless, & Stress Free! The future is bright for us detailers!
Great advice
Thanks man!
GET THAT MONEY, GOOD STUFF
YAA!!

Just like any other sole proprietor or LLC, quarterly or annually generally speaking
Wilson Auto Detailing how do I file my taxes If I do a mobile detailing and I use the square app and is connected with my personal checking card ?
Can square up be used outside of the US?
Great question! I am assuming so but I cannot say for sure, I bet a quick google search will answer that
I'm in Australia and run a detailing business. Use it daily and works great
Have you ever used PayPal?
Actually yes!! But my fiance HATES it!!!!
fiance?
How did you set up that catalog on ur square
It’s on the catalog section, you can just keep hitting the add button, put in the price and job, then keep saving it

Yep I agree, tipping is not a frequent thing in my world because of my prices, but they still make their way in sometimes
Its a service. Services are subject to tips. Run a business and your outlook will change. Taxes & Business expenses
You said you have been in this business for 7 years. How old are you and what made you get into car detailing?
Im 21, and really I got into it when I was about 13, and honestly I just have always had an entrepreunerial spirit, I think its just something I've always been, not really something I thought about becoming or doing, so car detailing just naturally followed that
@@wilsonautodetailing God bless you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Accept checks but for your safety try to go to their bank and cash the check there, you won't have to worry about the checks getting bounced
Good advice!
