Black 2.0 or water effect or a combo under the rusty grate would look pretty cool too.

I agree, both are great options 🙂👍🏻

The large iron grate was my favorite. Could be used for the partys "Plan B" escape path/entrance or an oubliette. Lots of utility. 👍

They all look great, but the idea I'm definitely going to steal is the smaller, round grating -- it looks like a drain. I think it's just interesting enough that I could use that tile in the middle of a dungeon to make it look more interesting, but not so interesting that the players obsess about it. :D

Great tutorial video. Kudos for ideas to improve bland and boring dungeon tiles. I liked the ones with water the best. Don't forget that gloss Mod Podge works well for shallow water and wet effects. Cheers, --Bo

Quick question. I plan to make a few out of foam board (5mm thick) as XPS foam is pretty much not available where I live. You didn't use any backing on the standard tiles, as far as I saw, but how have these tiles held up over time? Looking at the material, it seems a bit light an flimsy. Do they damage easily? Or are they still going strong?

Mine are 10mm thick, and as such are fairly durable, 5mm thick may struggle a bit especially when you're essentially scoring details into them, creating weaker points. Mine have held up fine so far without any backing. 🙂👍🏻

I don't play any tabletop games and will probably never make a dungeon tile, but I do make dioramas for figure collectors and terrain to sell to gamers because it's fun. You have a lot of cool ideas I can use in dios for action figures. I just have to scale them up. I just got some of the large column templates from Shifting Lands and your ruined temple build has me itching to make something similar using my new toys. Problem is I also just got the Military Compound Terrain Crate from Mantic and I'm itching to use some of those bits to make a sci-fi dio that would work with Star Wars or Predator or Alien or any other dark and dirty space themed figures.
Hope you don't take this in a negative way, but I kinda feel like I'm watching Sargon of Akkad building terrain when I watch your videos.
    Keep up the great work.

Sargon?... as in the ancient mesopotamian ruler? 😅 Well I guess that's the weirdest compliment I've had so far, but I'll take it 😬
Thanks for watching, I'm glad you get some use out of the videos despite not being a gamer, best of luck with your scaled up dioramas.

Sargon as in Carl Benjamin the youtube personality. You sound like you're from the same part of jolly old. You even look like you came from the same clan. You can pretend I meant the original Sargon if you prefer.

Hi. Do you have a link for where you get your xps from ? I've shopped around and can't find easily specifically what I want. I'm after A3 or A4 sheets 10mm thick.
