As soon as Lee accused Noah of hitting Elle, I was really hoping they'd go into Noah's past and expose him of abusing an ex or something. Not because I wanted him to be that guy, but because I wanted the backstory for his behavior and I always thought Lee knew something about Flynn that he couldn't tell Elle, and that's why he made the rule that they couldn't date. I realize that was expecting too much from this movie, but it would have been a really interesting turn.

-Noah is a senior, he is older than lee, so he is probably a junior, because for some reason everybody in high school movies is a junior. But then why is their prom "our senior year", like what?
- In the end Elle says that "this" never would have happened if it wasn't for the kissing booth. But actually, she already had a crush on him and they would have gotten together one way or another.
- Why does elle sleep in noahs room. She could have easily slept where noah slept or with lee.
- Was that super short skirt literally the only piece of leg clothing in the house, like weren't there any form of pyjama pants or sport pants from her, her brother or her father.

The skirt thing is really problematic, even for a fictional setting. She could have worn literally pj pants and explained to the school of her situation; they would have either given her a day (or two) to get a new pair of pants, or maybe had some spare clothes for situations where a student is in need of them, or even told her to wear gym clothes for the day.
It really was bad writing. For a fanfic, yah, maybe I can see why the writer chose to do something like that cause it would be funny, but still. Lol.

This movie reminded me a lot of Fifty Shades of Grey. It's trying to romanticize an abusive relationship. The characters who are supposedly "in love" are only ever shown fighting, f*cking, or riding around the city. It has terrible writing. The main guy is a very violent person, and overly possessive to the point it's borderline abusive. At some point the writers realize how terrible their character is so they write in a worse character to make the main character look better.
I also didn’t know it was a wattpad movie but the “FORCED to go to class in my super short mini skirt that shows my underwear but I’m so shy and quirky I don’t even realize why people are staring and then my crush has to get in a physical fight about it” physically body slammed me back to my middle school reading habits and I knew in my heart

He doesn’t even act like a friend. He is such a jerk to Elle. He’s selfish when he demands she deny her feelings for Noah, he ditches her to hang out with his girlfriend (not inherently bad but it’s hypocritical of him), he ignores the rule they made up about giving an ice cream to your best friend and they can’t be mad anymore (and he ignores her sincere apology more importantly), and he doesn’t care that his rule is causing Elle so much pain. Oh and he let her strip at a party, which could have led to her being assaulted, or to pictures of her in her underwear being spread around the school. Lee is not her friend, he is the antagonist.

Bina G I disagree. Noah is definitely an asshole but he does things that are meant to protect Elle. They may be the wrong things but his attitude towards her is protective and caring. He may have toxic attitudes but he actually cares what happens to Elle. Lee doesn’t give off that attitude at all. He doesn’t seem to care about Elle’s emotions or feelings, or her well being. He seems like he just wants to have fun with her and spend time with her only for the enjoyment he gains from her company and without any regard for reciprocity. That one line he says after his fight with Noah really encapsulates his nonchalance towards Elle’s feelings, “I finally had something he didn’t: you.” He doesn’t care about her at all. She was just a trophy for him that represented a long-desired ‘win’ against Noah. Maybe it wasn’t supposed to come off this way and this coldness is just a byproduct of the author wanting to make sure people didn’t ship lee and Elle, but it had the effect of completely shitting all over the feelings of friendship Lee should have had towards Elle.

I went wtf at the reveal that Noah got accepted to Harvard of all colleges because the movie makes no indication of his intelligence. All i got from his character is that he's a basic white rich bad boy type but why he was a bad boy was never fleshed out. But yeah whatever i have a love hate relationship with this movie too.

I've been waiting on this video for some time, and it did not disappoint! One thing that irritated me about this movie was how Elle is treated by the guys in her life. Firstly, she actually accepts a date with the dude who assaulted her, yet neither the school principal or the movie seems to take it seriously (with Elle even saying "Dude touched my lady bum"!) Then there's the trope that's been done to death, where the "bad boy" is redeemed through his love for the female lead, despite him being controlling, possessive and hot tempered, yet he's still treated as "dreamy" because he's the love interest. It just got old how the movie contrived to have Elle end up in various states of undress.
Still, I liked that they didn't try to force a love triangle situation between Elle, Noah and Lee, and just made Elle and Lee's relationship platonic, although even he tries to control Elle by forbidding her to date his brother. He even states that he would willingly break up with his own girlfriend if Elle didn't like her?!😮
Despite the movie's MANY problems, it still has a certain sort of charm about it!

squeakyshoes Agree with you on both counts. Noah is established as being the quintessential "bad boy" with a heart of gold and anger issues. In one scene, he admits that he needs to get help dealing with his temper, but it's never brought up again after that. Apparently, he's intelligent enough to get accepted into Harvard, of all schools, despite him missing God knows how many classes towards the end of school. The skirt issue bugged me as well, as Elle gets the same punishment as her assaulter, despite her being the clear victim! But all is forgiven when he dons a skirt himself as part of his lame apology.
