- A few weeks away from decent pre spawn Bass fishing, I went pike fishing with my buddy Tony. A pretty decent day even though half way through the day we got hammered with a cold slush/hail storm that slowed everything down.

Fish this spot 100 times mainly at night ,I've pulled some nice northern out of there in the fall ,the other side is much better.

I was just up there today fishing the kankakee didn't get anything might be too cold still had couple bites on a rattle trap frost time fishing the kankakee river what beautiful river the pike should be running soon or the walleye soon too
Warm weather is gonna help a lot.
I had no idea there were northerns in Indiana, I lived in WI for a few years and caught them up there. How cool, I am in the Muncie area, I had to move back here to care for my parents. Id love to go fishing up there sometime if you all are still doing it. Bryan

Looking to bring my son out to catch his first Pike. I grew up near the Canadian boarder in Minnesota, I am very familiar with Pike. Anyway he is begging me.. if you could suggest a good spot I would be very grateful.. I live by Kokomo now!! Tight lines
Anywhere on the tippicanoe or kankakee river. Use Google maps 😉.
I fished that spot last year had a big bowfin bust my line I was mad but it put up a good fight you guys caught some good size fish there good catches
It's a great spot if you can get it and it's the right time.

Yeah rivers are high, but I've been chasing those prespawn females in the lakes.
Keep hear of people talking about bowfin and was like “huh” nice to hear ya call em dogfish that’s how I knew them growing up. Good vid I love me some northern can’t believe you guys did all that w/o leaders?
Yeah I'll call em Bowfun occasionally but have always known em as Dogfish really. I'm pretty sure we had steel leaders on.

They are similar, but it was a regular Bowfin.

Tons of places to fish out here man. Kankakee, Yellow River, Tippecanoe River, Wabash River, Bass Lake, Long Lake, Wolf Lake, Lake Michigan.. there are endless fishing opportunities in the area.

Sorry bud, I'm not getting comment notifications lately. We either catch creek chubs or get lucky and get bug shiners at the bait shop.
