In a Chicago hospital during 1991. I was one of those babies fight of life, born at 23 weeks. I was in the hospital total five months. I just wanted to leave a comment saying, they are doing amazing work.

I've said so often that nurses don't get nearly enough credit for the work they do. It was so refreshing to see that things are changing, even if it's just one hospital at a time....they need recognition! (I'm not a nurse, by the way....but I've been a patient far too many times.)👩🏼⚕️👨🏼⚕️🙂

We love Dr. Welty, he saved my daughter's life. If it hadn't been for him our life would be vastly different right now. Texas Children's Hospital is lucky to have him on staff.

My baby was born at 26 weeks and he is almost coming home! He's currently 37 weeks and I couldn't be happier. Because of the experience I'm going through I would LOVE to be a NICU nurse to help others. I appreciate the work of all nurses and doctors especially those involved in the NICU because you have no idea what is preemie baby moms emotionally go through. I'm forever grateful. May God bless all the nurses and doctors and this new preemie mommy appreciates your work!!!

God bless all NICU staff! As a mother to 3 preemies and 2 of them had NICU stays, I can say I couldn't have gotten thru those months w/o them! Those were the hardest months and the hardest was leaving the hospital w/o my babies! So u have no choice but to trust the staff with your precious children!

I'm glad God has blessed preemies these days with better health care. Better medical procedures, doctors and nurses with better training and better equipment for them and I thank God for the dedicated doctors and nurses, all personnel associated with helping the tiny little babies. Been there! It’s the most terrifying yet rewarding experience I’ve ever had to date! My oldest son was born at 27.5 weeks and weighed 836 g (1 lb, 13.5 oz) I’ve never prayed or cried so much in my life than I did the first few days of his life. Then my fight kicked in; he was always a fighter, so I had to match that. It was a long 77 days, but he made it! He’s 25, healthy, strong, and handsome now! 🥰 Thank you to all NICU doctors and nurses! You’re all angels and heroes! ❤
I am a young teen and would LOVE to be a neonatal nurse when I am older! And I think it is very nice that they are not only giving the doctors recognition, but the nurses too! I would love to work at a hospital like this, maybe not this exact hospital because I would like to stay close to home, but I think this is a wonderful hospital facility!

God has really Blessed us in so many ways .I can't see without people in the healthcare profession what would life be like for patients who need and depend on us. I praises you lord. For giving us the strength to do our job that is caring for our patients

oh how i wish my workplace here (nicu too) would as precise as this place. i wish to deliver more for my patients with higher knowledge and better care. i really do. i really love my job as a nurse.

So glad to hear that there are hospitals that actually listen to the nursing staff. This very seldom happens. The nursing staff knows those babies better than what the dr does because they are there for many hours.

At times since I was a childHaving a great childhoodI can't couldn't help but see horrible things horrible people doing horrible things to each otherOr to others, to animals to the planetAnd at times I felt like giving up on people completely since I was a kid mind u I felt this and saw this BUT then we see things like this, and all our hope comes backIt's like starting a new day, feeling positive because we know there are also a LOT of good people out there doing and TRYING hard to do good things, incredible things, it gives me hope again!
We need this simulation test for the main goal of correcting mistakes before you make it to the real baby what a perfect system!

It is my dream to be a doctor at Texas Children's I live in the Houston Metro area so it's not a very crazy thing the only thing is getting to be a doctor this year I'm applying for an Academy High School which is very exciting so are you part way there

says that in Europe the health care system isn’t as good as in the US. In Europe there are excellent doctors that have nothing to envy to the American one. I actually think, for personal experience, that are even better.

What happens if you have no insurance? I bet those children don't get this sort of 5 star treatment.... Thank God I live in the UK where I and my child can free healthcare whenever and wherever.....
Actually, they have a fantastic financial center, they admit everyone who needs care. They have counselors who help with the bills later on.
+leanne1973 I will say as someone who worked there, we didn't care who had money and insurance and who didn't. I don't know how it ends up for all the families in the end financially, but I do know that our care *never* was dependent on the family's ability to pay.
They still take of the child no matter what. If you dont know the hospital, why judge of a video? They dont give up on anybody because of money. Get real.
With babies they rarely focus on money, with adults on the other hands, well......
But of course hospitals with more generous donors can afford all of the high tech equipment which benefits all of the patients on a particular unit.
I work in my state's most funded hospital and there are definitely disparities between who gets what depending on the donors linked to a particular floor.
Every child gets this same treatment, it doesn't matter if the parents are millionaires or homeless. Same exact care. I had no insurance when my first son was born and he needed a more High tech NICU then the one at the hospital he was born at because they weren't expecting any issues. He was transferred to John Hopkins Pediatric Hospitals NICU and they saved his life. My sisters husband is from The U.K. And they lived in the U.K. for a year, yes everyone gets treatment but they hated it, you have to wait long periods to get appointments among many issues they had in the UK healthcare system. They've moved back to the states and have private insurance now where you decide on your care and which doctors, specialists you'd like to go to and don't have to wait weeks/months to get an appointment.
I brought up 3 kids by breast feeding, they did well done in each school.they had over 90 IQ when 7years old , other one challenges mensa . nobody got COVID-19 still very healthy.

The Health care system in the US is disgusting! Is only about money. Doctors are like an untouchable entity. To get to them, you have to go through staff and nurses. However they get paid disgustingly high salaries. Doctors are in touch with patients. I’m from Europe and living in the US since 12 years. There’s no one better than me that can better describe the difference between the system here and the system in Europe. Docs here have rarely compassion an rather driven by profit. In Europe is quite the way around. Patients have direct contacts and access to docs and docs are compassionate. They don’t count and bill the minutes you are with them. You can call them at the phone and they are available to you. Here who is available is the nurse. Could it be that doctors in Europe are as they should be, compassionate, because they are not paid disgusting high salaries? Could it be because they are not money blinded by the system? Yes, I believe so!
