- PANIPAT is set in 1761, when the Maratha Empire had reached its zenith and their grip on Hindostan reigned supreme with no-one to challenge them until an invader set his eyes on the throne of Hindostan. That’s when Sadashiv Rao Bhau (Arjun Kapoor), the Commander-in-Chief of the Maratha army led a northern expedition in order to repel the invading forces of Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt), the King of Afghanistan. This War epic entails the events that led to the Third Battle of Panipat, watch it in cinemas on 6th December.

Sadashiv Rao Bhau and Entire Maratha force I salute to them for their bravery and courage .
Ibrahim Khan gardi and his weaponry proved an asset as well .
One thing I would like to say : We lacked unity as Indians back then and we still are the same .
Panipat battle was not Maratha's responsiblity Deccan was their terrain still they took the responsibility anyhow and they continued fighting and took over Red Fort later (dream of Shivaji Maharaj fulfilled ) a great moment

Well after panipat...the Najib Khan's grandson gulam kadar attacked delhi and imprisoned the emperor...mahadji shinde went to delhi and killed gulam kadar at khosgad near panipat....and after freeing the emperor...the mughal emperor shah alam 2 gave marathas right to put the saffron flag on laal killa.....from 1788 to 1803 till britishers overcomed....the 'bhagwa' (saffron flag) of marathas was there on lal killa ie 15 years....ultimately it shows marathas rule the nation ...and guard the mughals.....that's the victory of maratha empire.
