It's not about education, but culture. And more than that the law of the land treats everyone equally. You are talking about cricketers, even Aus. PM has to stand in line. There is no VIP treatment. The day VIP mentality goes away in India from politics, bollywood, cricketers, govt. officers, that day we will see change in culture. And that will happen only when the law treats everyone equally.

@@GabruPehlwan that's not accurate. In a country of 1.4 Billion, people who rarely get to have what they want throughout their life are bound to idolize and almost deify players like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. The Indian Media is to be blamed for that to a large extent. It has nothing to do with getting VIP treatment at airports. People in India are just not well educated. Most of them simply don't understand body language or non-verbal cues.

As an Australian, we don’t treat our sportsman in a ‘god’ like way. We appreciate the game and the players like humans. I could walk past a famous Aussie athlete down the street and wouldn’t bat an eye. No big deal. We are respectful towards them and just appreciate the game😃

As an Indian in Australia, the main reason is the amazing Aussie culture is all about giving respect and space to everyone. You will notice this everywhere, during driving, during grocery shopping, getting off the train etc, each and everyone will wait patiently, giving others space. Even at work they prioritise wellbeing first, and they will never invade others space. Even if they see a celebrity, they wont bother them, and if they want a selfie, they will first ask if its alright. I was in coffee club with my Aussie colleague and Michael Hussey was having his coffee, my friend said hey its Mr. cricket, I asked him should we ask for a selfie? He said nah, let the man enjoy his morning coffee. Massive respect

This is one of the major reasons for their success in cricket. No extra pressure from public. No overhype if they do well and no put them down the drain if they do bad. Invariably it helps a player to be normal and perform without any pressure.

We don't as well ,some of them do but not all Indians, 1.4 billion Indians with > 90-95% access to high speed internet ,yet no of views on this will tell you a story, do not generalize, we follow field hockey, kabbadi , Badminton Chess and others as well other than cricket ,for eg at Chessbase India the views is in millions for world championship matches with each match around 5-6 hr between Gukesh( India) vs Ding Liren( China) >>> BGT if you take chinese counterparts and global viewership as well. I haven't followed bgt but have followed 14 rounds of FIDE world chess championship held at Singapore . Tests are boring and time consuming as well its my personal opinion. Even a micro-minority of 1.4 B following any sports passionately is a huge no hence the illusion.

Good observation. Generally, that’s typical of western cultures. Work, play, family - each has its time and space and everything is viewed with equanimity. Private space is highly respected. The players don’t crave publicity and as a result the public/media too don’t oblige. Something to be emulated. Unlike the mania in other cultures. 🤷🏻

💯 Not just players, all public figures. Never understood why Indians go crazy on sighting them. Our people need to learn self respect first and also respecting other people’s space.

They dnt care. I living in Australia from 10 years. Best thing which i like about 1st world countries is, everyone is treated like same. No vip culture. No privacy breaches of anyone, it doesn’t matter what and who u r… even I saw Ricky pointing apni car mai khud fuel bharwa raha thha. Mere ik dost ne shane Warne ko dekha thha, khud k ghar k nature strip pe apna grass cut kr raha thha.. so that’s why this countries r 400 years ahead from us… and every 3rd worlder like to live in this countries

Ham fans ko bhi ye baat smjhni chahiye ki wo koi bhagwan nahi h jo ham unhe apne life m itna importance dete hai jitna importance ham unhe dete hai utna hamey khud ko aur khud k career ko banane m dena chahiye naaki inn sabko.

I myself live in Sydney , and I am born from a Indian family but have a Aus passport. People here understand privacy and have common sense , I have literally seen professional cricketers day in and day out , more or less here ppl care about the game than players. In India it is the polar opposite , you know its horrendous that your best player doesn't even live in the country , he literally flies there just to play cricket. Unfortunately my Indian relatives shows off when they get pics with these famous celebs. No famous ppl come to India because of this issue.

    The actual question is WHY?
Why do many if not all Indians act such a way which is rather uncivilized.
What made us worship( very different than being a fan of someone or something) these fellow rich Sports person/ Film actors.
All this boils down to one specific thing IMO.
Civic sense and responsibility towards society which is a thing to be taught from very beginning of school life.
