Your channel is one of the few recommendations on yt that I'm grateful for!
So glad to see someone give us REAL, practical advice, most creators superficially highlight hustling, the 5 am club, exercising etc. While these are good habits, they don't talk much abt the basic first things - finding the right direction and COMMITTING to it - which you did. I've always wanted instant gratification and struggled to commit to things, but your previous video on 'being stuck' got me back on track. I graduated in July and am now planning to learn data analytics for 3 months; first goal is to study for 21 days; 10/21 done so far since I watched ur video. Also got an accountability diary and taking baby steps in networking, though it intimidates me. There are moments of doubt, but I try to keep going anyways.
Thank you so much for the therapy-like mentoring sessions!

    You’re absolutely right.
I started with a medical career, earned my degree, and thought that was the path I’d follow. But in reality, I ended up choosing something completely different-freelancing in graphic design outsourcing.
Between 2020 and 2023, I tried to learn as many skills as I could because I kept seeing people succeed online while I felt stuck (chasing many things but got nothing)
Over time, I realized that the key isn’t chasing everything at once. It’s about focusing on one skill you’re truly confident in and building on that. Trying to do too much at once just leaves you feeling lost.

Especially when I was younger, I'd get obsessed with any new business idea or lifestyle advice any famous youtuber talked about and would try that half-heartedly, only to later realize that I wasn't even interested in the actual process to begin with. Thank you, Areeb Irshad! Your explanations are truly insightful, and I really appreciate the clarity in your content. I recently watched two of your videos:
    Don’t Chase Everything
The TRUTH Behind UA-cam as a Career
In the first video, I completely relate to your words and thoughts-it resonated with me deeply. As for the second video, it came at the perfect time. For the past week, I’ve been debating whether to start a UA-cam channel to teach software-related content. However, your perspective made me realize that I don’t have a long-term career goal in UA-cam. I was being influenced by the "shiny" side of UA-cam videos.
As a software engineer with multiple years of experience, switching to a UA-cam career would take me away from my current trajectory. Instead, I’ve decided to focus on enhancing my skills and growing further in my field.
By the way, this is my first UA-cam comment-your content inspired me to finally share my thoughts!
Thank you so much for sharing your honest thoughts-it truly helped me gain clarity!, Sorry i know this is comment box not an Email.😅

I realized this when in i was applying for govt job.

I have a advice, don't try do something very different instantly, first of all realize what you are interested in from your childhood and move in that particular interest, as something totally different which you are not introduced to from a young age can easily destroy a lot of your time, try to improve what you are doing from your childhood. Got your video in my feed today. Although I already subscribed. These social media is actually a distraction nothing else. I was also suffering with the same. But this year I focused primarily on my own interests. I'm good in singing. But I don't have opportunities as I'm from a small town. Self improvement is necessary. I left social media, I promised myself that I'll work 100% on my field in a short period of time without getting distracted. I'm getting results as well. Because every person has some possibilities and can win in certain fields. We should understand our own interests. 😊

How came out of failure in UPSC after 5 years if preparation. Hope it may help some of you.
    1. Joined startup whatsapp & telegram groups
    2. Started working for free
    3. Started working with same intensity as I use to prepare.
    4. Early stage startups needs generalist so no need for any specialised skill set, just common sense & hardwork
    5. Within 3 months started regaining confidence.
    6. Within 6 months of joining salary was 50,000
    7. After 3 years now it is INR 2 Lakhs
    8. I regret not clearing UPSC but planning to startup after 2-3 years.
Govt jobs preparation are not end, just a phase, a wrong decision, just move on
Feeling hard to move, join any 10 days free vipassana meditation camp
No one should prepare for govt jobs more than 3 years full time.
    All the best

In 2000 I completed my high school. Being from uneducated family all around but very supportive and some good friends. I copied them and want to become engineer. Though I was good in that. But in between my studies I just lost my internet in studies completely. And after graduation i got married. Due to further very personal circumstances in my
life i didn't focus on my own need. At the age of 40 i have money good home but i am not happy. I discovered very lately that I was
always very creative ,whole school knew that😅 but i didn't focus. Although at that time Creativity was not very valuable. I have many health issues at present due to which I cannot go in any field of my personal interest. See ,what's destiny is i have time, money, opportunity, support and will definitely grow ( in makeup field) but i not fit/healthy. So , pls be careful ...don't waste time in wrong direction and even money and luxury home can't buy u inner piece.

I was mechanical engineer who passed in 2019 and since then even before that i was tending towards UPSC examination, while i was in my engineering i used to read books for UPSC, then after my graduation i started full fledged prepration and settled to the delhi Karol Bhag and joined reputed coching, i was topper in my school days so i was overconfident about my selection, Na di brought all the study material and joined the Optional as well as GS subject since 2019 to 2024 i could't able to clear prelims ,every year i am like i didn't prepare with dedicatedly, so i would like to take one more year to crack this exam, the limelight of this Upsc exam has attracted me such that i couldn't come out from its trap, my uncle ,my cousins used to make me understand that its a good time to come out from this situation, still my propensity was towards UPSC exam, now i am that stage where i have become such a zombie who can only preprare for UPSC , i even can't able to crack another exam because of different pattern of the exam, i am not enough courageous to go back in engineering field as i know that no one will pay more than 18k per month, I have overall invested around 15-20 lakh within 5-6 years and still jobless, Now i am realising that was my biggest mistake ,i hope somebody could have come in life to consoul me ,instruct me about the consequences about this exam prepration, My firends who were not good in academic are doing very well in their life. Now i am leaving this prepration but i know i am too late, So those who are trapped in UPSC exam ,please leave the prepration as soon as possible, you know you can't become UPSC if you have invested that much time , our of 3 lakh only one such student get opportunity to clear this exam.😢😢😢😢😢

One of the best videos I have seen in recent times. Mostly all the influencers on UA-cam have studied well during their early phase. On UA-cam, they prepare videos like how to earn 1lakh in a month etc. For them, UA-cam is a side hustle but many people consider UA-cam as a primary job which is dangerous to society. Importance should be given to education not for earning money during early phases of life. The Shiny Object Syndrome is common in society because nowadays even the most successful people are starting social media channels and giving ideas and influencing people. There is a mistake on both sides.

This post has hit my heart. I am almost 40 now and have a good time of my youth in UPSC preparation. I did land a bank PO job but it was never enough, so I quit that after 2 years to again prepare for the UPSC. Somehow I managed to get my life in order and took entry level jobs and have stuck to it. Yes I have missed a little or a lot from life but at least am happy. Brilliant video.

I didn’t even realize the video had ended. Thank you for highlighting the issue and introducing this term to us.
I’d like to share something personal. Last year, I completed my engineering degree and moved to an unfamiliar environment. Even in the smallest and most seemingly insignificant situations, I felt hesitant and overwhelmed by the fear of being judged. It was deeply frustrating and led me to reflect on my past.
I looked back at 2019, a time before the rise of these so-called influencers and the overwhelming saturation of social media. During my diploma days, I was a confident individual who led groups, spoke freely, and never hesitated to engage with others. It made me wonder-how did I change so drastically?
By late 2020, I started exploring ways to earn money-initially by playing games. (How embarrassing, right? This was influenced by a mix of respected but greedy celebrities and influencers.) Slowly, I found myself trapped in something that today deeply resonates with the concept of “shiny object syndrome.”
Once again, thank you-not just for highlighting this issue but also for explaining practical ways to overcome it.
