Your channel is one of the few recommendations on yt that I'm grateful for!
So glad to see someone give us REAL, practical advice, most creators superficially highlight hustling, the 5 am club, exercising etc. While these are good habits, they don't talk much abt the basic first things - finding the right direction and COMMITTING to it - which you did. I've always wanted instant gratification and struggled to commit to things, but your previous video on 'being stuck' got me back on track. I graduated in July and am now planning to learn data analytics for 3 months; first goal is to study for 21 days; 10/21 done so far since I watched ur video. Also got an accountability diary and taking baby steps in networking, though it intimidates me. There are moments of doubt, but I try to keep going anyways.
Thank you so much for the therapy-like mentoring sessions!
It's good to know that you are taking actions to clarify your thinking and continuously work towards your goals. All the best!

Appreciate it, glad you found it helpful! 🙏
Reasons for Shiny Object Syndrome:
1) Illusion of progress, novelty, newness
2) Lack of Clarity among youth
3) Peer Pressure
4) Social Media Positive Highlights
5) Democratization of Knowledge,
/ Information, Information Overload
6) FOMO
How to get out Shiny Object Syndrome:
1) Define your North Star (direction) yourself. Not by parents, relatives, peers, colleague, batchmates or anyone.
2) 90 days rule.
Stick with or learn a skill, course for 90 days.
Write all your thoughts and ideas 'bout other things in a diary. Think/Do on them only after 90 days.
3) Mentor Check
The biggest thing is the money problem.....
And Isolation from Social Media during those 90 days are a crucial part also. You need to accept that boredom isn't a curse instead a space where creativity and intelligence kicks in

You’re absolutely right.
I started with a medical career, earned my degree, and thought that was the path I’d follow. But in reality, I ended up choosing something completely different-freelancing in graphic design outsourcing.
Between 2020 and 2023, I tried to learn as many skills as I could because I kept seeing people succeed online while I felt stuck (chasing many things but got nothing)
Over time, I realized that the key isn’t chasing everything at once. It’s about focusing on one skill you’re truly confident in and building on that. Trying to do too much at once just leaves you feeling lost.
Thanks for sharing your story!
Hey, are you still doing graphics designing?

I'm 27F. I could resonate with what you said really well. The information overload on the internet gets me confused at times. Especially when I was younger, I'd get obsessed with any new business idea or lifestyle advice any famous youtuber talked about and would try that half-heartedly, only to later realize that I wasn't even interested in the actual process to begin with. A very important video for the young adults struggling with too many choices.
It’s great that you’ve realized this early on
This video showed up in my feed at exactly 2 AM. I thought you're narrating my journey. This video is an eye - opener. Thank you for dropping by at the right moment ! 🙏
You’re welcome! I’m glad the video was useful.
This video came to me at just the right time. I had been feeling overwhelmed and distracted by various interests, which eventually led to boredom. After quitting my job, there’s now a 3-month gap in my resume. Watching this video gave me so much clarity and truly saved me from making further wrong decisions. I am deeply grateful and sending all my blessings your way! ❤🙏
I'm happy to hear you found clarity - that's what it's all about.
Fifteen years the journey ran,
Seeking truths to guide the man.
In minutes shared, the wisdom grows,
But deeper paths the earth still shows.
Walk with the sun, let forests heal,
Feel the truth the mountains reveal.
Closer to nature, the heart will see,
The soul unbound, forever free.

Thank you, Areeb Irshad! Your explanations are truly insightful, and I really appreciate the clarity in your content. I recently watched two of your videos:
Don’t Chase Everything
The TRUTH Behind UA-cam as a Career
In the first video, I completely relate to your words and thoughts-it resonated with me deeply. As for the second video, it came at the perfect time. For the past week, I’ve been debating whether to start a UA-cam channel to teach software-related content. However, your perspective made me realize that I don’t have a long-term career goal in UA-cam. I was being influenced by the "shiny" side of UA-cam videos.
As a software engineer with multiple years of experience, switching to a UA-cam career would take me away from my current trajectory. Instead, I’ve decided to focus on enhancing my skills and growing further in my field.
By the way, this is my first UA-cam comment-your content inspired me to finally share my thoughts!
Thank you so much for sharing your honest thoughts-it truly helped me gain clarity!, Sorry i know this is comment box not an Email.😅
Everyone knows their inner strength. It is not about hardwork that you put in. It is all about right direction in which you put your hardwork to yield maximum outcome.
I realized this when in i was applying for govt job.
The exam pattern never suited my personality.
I was the kind of person who is not built to solve problem in short time.
I am the kind of person whom you give problem but I take more time untill i understand the problem in depth. Once I get it , nobody can beat me.
I tried software engineering and it suited my personality and today earning 50lpa.
I understood my weakness and did not waste my time.
That’s amazing! Thanks for sharing your story here :)

Glad that you found your strengths. Was there any particular approach that you took to look inside yourself and recognise your strengths? Or did you take any career you selling?
@@Sunshine_here-xo2jk In my college TCS came for hiring. They used to take aptitude, objective and was not able to clear that aptitude. It happened twice in the college.
That was red flag for me. I am not build for these kind of exam.

That is tortoise approach. I realized when i work slow and steady, i am much more efficient than anyone else.

I'm 25, working as a customer service in MNC, it's very depressing job due to its nature. Everyone only rants on you even if it's not your fault. On top of that my company wants me to only listen to customer not solve anything.
I want to earn enough so that I can be financier l financially free from basic needs. 😢 Anything I want to start requires money/time/efforts and I don't have all these due to this pathetic job I'm into. Doing job is my boundation as no one earns in family 😔

Beautifullll video . I About to graduate , Currently in my 4th year of engineering , the hurry to pursue everything to overcome the feeling of FOMO was what , made me take so many wrong decisions in the initial years of engineering ... because down the line, you will eventually loose interest , as some new thing would bring you a FOMO and this keeps on repeating . Glad that even though I learnt it late , but I it would be of great help .

"I don't compare myself with others. I focus on my own journey. I wanna become the best version of myself" put this quote as a video wallpaper on my device lockscreen. Whenever I saw it each time I'll get the new light of hope to do the work what I supposed to do.
No growth if no comparison
@user-dj2yo8qz3p Not always. Sometimes comparing yourself with others fees you depressed.

One of the best videos I have seen in recent times. Mostly all the influencers on UA-cam have studied well during their early phase. On UA-cam, they prepare videos like how to earn 1lakh in a month etc. For them, UA-cam is a side hustle but many people consider UA-cam as a primary job which is dangerous to society. Importance should be given to education not for earning money during early phases of life. The Shiny Object Syndrome is common in society because nowadays even the most successful people are starting social media channels and giving ideas and influencing people. There is a mistake on both sides.
Great Wisdom.... Thanks for the clarity for the youth and comman man ....🎉
This post has hit my heart. I am almost 40 now and have a good time of my youth in UPSC preparation. I did land a bank PO job but it was never enough, so I quit that after 2 years to again prepare for the UPSC. Somehow I managed to get my life in order and took entry level jobs and have stuck to it. Yes I have missed a little or a lot from life but at least am happy. Brilliant video.
Hey brother I'm still only 24 can I talk to you regarding career
Justified to title of video... I am also around a similar age of you and absolutely agree with each and every line. It has given me validation. Thanks.
I’m glad it could help
I didn’t even realize the video had ended. Thank you for highlighting the issue and introducing this term to us.
I’d like to share something personal. Last year, I completed my engineering degree and moved to an unfamiliar environment. Even in the smallest and most seemingly insignificant situations, I felt hesitant and overwhelmed by the fear of being judged. It was deeply frustrating and led me to reflect on my past.
I looked back at 2019, a time before the rise of these so-called influencers and the overwhelming saturation of social media. During my diploma days, I was a confident individual who led groups, spoke freely, and never hesitated to engage with others. It made me wonder-how did I change so drastically?
By late 2020, I started exploring ways to earn money-initially by playing games. (How embarrassing, right? This was influenced by a mix of respected but greedy celebrities and influencers.) Slowly, I found myself trapped in something that today deeply resonates with the concept of “shiny object syndrome.”
Once again, thank you-not just for highlighting this issue but also for explaining practical ways to overcome it.
Thanks for sharing your story - it really helps to hear that we're not alone in this.
