I did find the video entertaining, but not a huge fan of the encouragement of mindless overconsumption. If the products are that cheap, it's either because of the exploitation of labor or natural resources, the cost just doesn't go away.

As a 43 year old lady. The fascination with the digital camera made me feel old! Ha. Love seeing things coming back. And here I give my parents crap for not using their cell phone for photos or anything other than emergency phone calls 🤦🏻♀️. They still use a digital camera. Who knew they were cool again!

I’m 29, and even I was dying laughing lol I definitely had multiple digital cameras growing up, and the struggle was real lol

I still have a $300 digital camera I bought maybe 8 years ago? but stopped using it bc my phone is just better.
I love the fellow subscribers holding this channel accountable and encouraging more sustainable ideas and discouraging this type of content thats profiting from overconsumption. I agree with them: theres better video ideas that don't support thos type of hyper-consumption and doomsday feeling of everything that goes along with it

Rare disability month is in July, I really would love to see some disability representation on this channel. Especially because I’ve seen them do videos like that for black owned businesses and LBGTQ+ owned businesses.
They do this some. Hopefully they're going to be doing more of the small business stuff
Even though I really like the entertainment factor of this video, I might want to point out that these products with unknown origin might cause several problems.
Starting with the heated brush, in the EU there are certain norms and tests electronical devices have to pass, for example to get a CE certificate, and with these products, the logo might be fake and they might not have run those tests or passed them, which might endanger the users.
Moreover if they are made in China- China has some "working camps" aka slavery working facilities. Especially brands like TEMU have been called out for not being able to provide information on whether their products were manufactured in those labor camps or not.
I can understand your euphoria about using these products but you might want to consider the economical and social impact of those. Not saying all tik tok shop products are bad, there might be some small businesses, but considering the prices shown here, I am mostly sceptical.
i totally agree!! this has nothing to do with sierra or any of the girls, this is just a fact for ordering products and having zero idea where they come from it's scary. plus putting your payment info on tiktok and to random businesses scare me. temu and others are known to sell your personal info and scam people😭
The environmental impact, too, is what really gets me. The fast, hyper-convenient, cheap consumerism is really not helping our Mama Earth :(
I agree. It may be annoying but I really like when the links go to an external website because I like being able to look at the brand and other products to get a sense of what I'm actually buying. Like, not knowing if it's a random drop-ship brand or a legit brand or even small business, it rubs me the wrong way.

Sierra, just friendly advice from a fellow curly haired girl - don't add hair oil before using heat tools, even if you add heat protector on top, it still fries the hair, you can just add it after you're done!
Hair oil is perfectly safe to use if it says it is also a heat protectant!
This is just not true! Most hair oils are made to withstand high heat!
@@FatCatLuna well, it's just what I learned from the salon professionals I interacted with and I thought it's useful to share 😊 in any case, I still think it's safer to use them after, since it doesn't really affect the result of the product (shine and smoothness), and it's just a little extra care to avoid fried ends, but of course everyone is free to do what they see fit! I just thought maybe it's useful, cause I myself like hearing hair care tricks to avoid damage. But I'm sorry if I've offended anyone!

I haven't watched a video on this channel in a while, but I wanted to see how it was going. I think I would like this better if it didn't feel like 3 separate videos stitched together. Maybe the intro and outro could have been everyone coming together?

I was thinking I wanted more clips of all three together too! Part of the fun of shopping is showing what you bought to your friends, so I wanted more of that!
They are playing with different formats, but also had a shortened schedule as they wanted to get it filmed before Rachel's maternity leave.
Usually the group ones do have them coming together at the intro/outro. This one did feel a little disjointed to me but I think they’ve been trying to prefilm a bunch of videos so they had content ready for Rachel’s maternity leave
As someone who works at Amazon, I pack up A LOOOOOOOT of TikTok shop orders so that’s probably why the shipping was so fast 😂

I’m a seller on Tik Tok Shop. If you have a product on Amazon and Tik tok, you can connect the two. That way, when you get an order on Tik Tok, it will be automatically sent to Amazon to fulfill

TikTok shop is one of the reason I had to delete tiktok. The repeating adds were so annoying and were always there no matter what I did.
You could maybe use a vpn and change your location to somewhere in Europe we don't have Tiktok shop here (at least not yet)
So happy to see another video but would really urge you guys to stay away from this kind of shopping. Mass-produced with unknown origins, makes me very nervous about the production chain and social/environmental impact. Your small business hauls are so much more unique and artistic, not to mention they do a great job for uplifting individual workers who put a lot of work into what they provide. Just my two cents. Totally agree, especially on the clothes & accessories because there are so many sustainable & ethical clothing brands. On the other products like the round brush and the camera I feel like there is no ethical alternative (I’ve never heard of a fair trade hair tools company, but I’d love to be wrong on this).
Love that you brought this up. But im also worried that more small business haul can show off more drop shipping if not careful. Etsy has become a dropship haven and makes it hard to find truly small business/hand crafted businesses. Not to discourage (I love small businesses) but just another point to consider
Totally hear what you're saying! But just another perspective... I can't afford most small business prices (not saying there is anything wrong with their prices, they should charge their worth) but I can afford most of tiktok shop stuff so these are things actually available to me and my life.

I’m only a year or two older than Jadyn and was SHOCKED she had never used a digital camera!! I didn’t use a phone camera until I was maybe 12! 😂 I grew UP with digital cameras!

tik tok shop gives wish and temu. thinking of how many of the fast fashion items will end up in a landfill hurts my heart. imagine how many cheap items are being mass produced by questionable production practices. this video feels like a giant tik tok shop ad, it’s not my favorite.

I love the idea of the croptuck, but my fav shirt cropping tool is the Tucky! Same principle and also a small business but she actually went on Shark Tank and did all the work to get her product out there! Plus, the band on this one is thicker, so it holds those chunkier sweaters better with less upkeep. There is room for both in the market but I don't like that the croptuck lady marks her stuff with "shark tank" when she didn't actually do that work.
Croptuck might not even be a real small business. Copy cat off the Tucky! That picture on the pamphlet might not even be the real owner. Could all be a fake cover.

Yes! Came here to comment something similar. I have found some of my favorite small businesses through TikTok shop. Obviously there are also 1000 mass produced items, but you can find the good guys. For the next video, I would love to see only small business TikTok shops. I think it would be good to highlight that it’s not all a mass produced scam! ❤
I think the problem with this video is that it only featured one item that was from a small business. The rest was mass produced garbage that you can sense were not ethically produced.

You HAVE to click on the creator to make sure it’s the actual person. Fake shops will steal content and TikTok will still give them the commission tag.

My only issue with TikTok shop is not knowing where these products are coming from and the ethics in making them. I’ve made a few purchases without thinking about that first.. I’m not sure I’ll continue to use it

Oh, the digital camera gave flashback! When i was in my very late teens, all of my friends had one and they were very expensive and they image quality was laughable! I had a sony 2.5 megapixels, and it wasn't rechargeable it used batteries. Now i have to look for the DVDs and CDs where i saved all those photos.

Pro tip if you want to have the cropped shirt look without spending $20 on a piece of elastic: make sure you wear a bra with a decently thick band (sports bras usually work the best for me for this hack) and tuck it into your bra band. It's probably not as secure as the crop tuck, but I've been using this hack for years and the little bit of readjusting I have to do is worth it imo

I got one of the crop things from Amazon for like $6 and I love it. I usually place it over my top of choice at my waist and then pull up on the fabric until I get my desired crop. It's been the best for cropping sweaters with skirts or things I don't want to bunch tops into. 😄

I'm so glad we don't have tiktok shop in france. Sounds annoying seeings ads all the time. Since our country is creating more laws against consumerism, I am not sure we ever will have access to that part of the app.

pro tip : you don’t need to buy the crop tuck thingy, just use any belt you already own, it does the exact same thing, it’s adjustable, chances are you have one in your closet. and it should fit you since it’s your belt 🤠👍🏽
