  • In what was definitely one of our favorite in-home chef experiences worldwide, we hooked up with two incredible locals at the Šibenik Marketplace, where they led us through the process of shopping for fresh ingredients to make an authentic Croatian meal at our incredible seaside villa in Primošten Croatia.

    ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

You were cooking for friends! 😘 By the time we ate, it felt like you and Tina were part of the family. I’ll never forget “the soul is in the belly” and I’ll think of you every time I say it.

Since you were in Primošten it's a shame you didn't try Pašticada, hobotnica pod pekom, brudet... Each region has it's own special dishes, my favourite is in region of Slavonija/Baranja where the main dishes are čobanac, fiš paprikaš, kulen, čvarci, šaran na rašljama, and all kinds of meat including wild boars, deers... the cheapest region in Croatia, about 50% cheaper that Adriatic, cause it doesn't have sea, but as a local from Zagreb, Slavonija/Baranja is a place I am rather visiting, food is out of this world, its a beautiful green part of Croatia, and i often go hiking there. Coast is too touristy but yea, obviously most beautiful Region :)

The city of Šibenik is pronounced She-ba-nick. The S has an accent making the sound Sh. Great video. Txs. Hvala lijepa. You are headed to Krka Falls - kirk-ka. Another beautiful adventure in Croatia! Cannot wait to return to my Croatia - sretan put - happy travels.

Ooooh what a surprising episode as last week you were in San Diego or so it seems hehe. I love the simplicity of it all, and the beautiful waterfront... the gifting back to nature with the fish head and tail... but honestly, I would have made a garlic vegetable soup broth with it hehe... nature gets everything back eventually. Cheers to the good life fam. :)

speaking again - my first trip to Cebu, 1978 - the city certainly was not so advanced yet. In Carbon Market, you would see meat hanging by hooks, no refrigeration
in the small shops and maybe the clerk would be sleeping on top of the counter.By our 3rd trip more stores were getting stand up refrigerators and today all large
stores are as modern as in the U.S.

But it was a 3-bedroom (3-king configuration, but one of those can be separated into two twins), 3.5-bathroom private villa with a full kitchen, sauna, indoor/outdoor pool, car port, and as you can see from the footage in this episode, plenty of incredible views of the Adriatic. We're working on our next episode, which has a full walk-thru of the villa and surrounding area. That should launch this Friday, so be sure to subscribe and click the notification bell so you don't miss that one. And thanks for watching and offering your support!

That was probably my (Erin) fault. I have such a hard time pronouncing things. It’s something about how it sounds and processes the right sounds to make it. I keep trying to get better.

husband - my wife uses fish heads and tails for soup. It is so not fun to lift a pot lid and see the dead eyes looking up at you. oh yuck. or when she went
to Cebu by herself and I am home doing the day care. I go through the house cleaning - finally came to the freezer, i find a paper bag and look inside - all i
see are teeth looking up at me. What is this, sure doesn't belong in there. Wife gets home and asks where her pig head is. So that's what it was.
