This really is what should have happened. Fenix, Raynor, Mengsk knew that Kerrigan would plot to get rid of them the moment the UED lost the stronghold so they prep to assassinate the cerebrate, knowing there is no Overmind to resurrect it. Then use the chaos created from the death of the cerebrate to kill Kerrigan.
And since they don't have to find the keystone to extract the power from Kerrigan, Duran will have to spend a much longer time to gather enough energy to bring back Amon. Raynor, without Kerrigan as a distraction, will be able to swiftly depose Mengsk sometime later and establish a more powerful Dominion (although having Duke around would make it a bit harder). As for the protoss, without any hivemind to control the zerg, Artanis or whoever was selected to be leader of the Daelam, will be able to retake Aiur much sooner to prepare for Amon's eventual return.
@@thecommentguy9380 Well the stronghold may be lost, but Kerrigan was the one to anihilate UED, so perhaps Mengks could team with Raynor and they both would construct some kind of better Dominion. Also since it would be indeed easier for protoss to retake Auir they could help with taking down the Mengsk if he was to betray Raynor and/or help with UED. It's really a shame Blizzard abbandoned the UED theme in SC II, it would be nice for at least a 9 mission packet where Stukov has some story with them. Also Im pretty sure that even if Amon was resurrected or anything like that one of the protoss could be ascended, I would nominate Fenix or Zeratul, or to even step further Aldaris and Zeratul (which is a bit not canon) could mend into Archon and become ascended after that. This would not probably happened, however in map editor I have seen protoss archon hero who was mixed from some great Templars

This would actually be a pretty epic thing to have as a campaign. A second protoss campaign that gives you Terran units and frequently has you allied with Dominion against Kerrigan, it'd be a short campaign, but it'd be pretty cool I think.
Honestly if they made this into a full on spin off game I'd buy it. Even if it were just to hear Fenix say "getting jiggy with it" XDDD. Also I think it would only be fitting if Artanis took over Tassadars legacy and rammed a literal weapon of galactic dimensions into a the goddamn squid that they made Amon :D

what also makes no sense in the video is that the cerebrate in the lore can only be killed by Dark Templars, so even if the squad was able to defeat him, he would regenerate very quickly, like the cerebrate you kill in the 2nd Protoss mission in SC1

Funny thing, according to the Queen of Blades novel, this is how Kerrigan's original Cerebrate died. Raynor exploited her sloppy use of telepathy to lure her into a trap where most of her underlings were killed and Tassadar used the distraction to kill her Cerebrate.
But wait, Amon could only return by stealing all of karrigan’s power. So if she is killed out right before the Xel’naga artifact could be used, he can’t return. So… the universe is saved.

Zeratual's prophecy in Eire wasn't exactly connected to the fragments on Ularoon(spelling?). Veritas fishing was more along the idea that if they didn't get something together done soon the protoss would be destroyed as well as all life the fragments on Hulu rumor based on the idea of the Zerg and the protoss combining to form the xel'naga before Amon came in and messed everything up with the Zerg.

The rocks that zeratual found was a basic scribbling to say amon had screwed with the cycle. I have read it stated that Ouoros wrote it but unconfirmed 2. The actual vision was Ouros telling Zeratual that the time to act is now and to get everyone ready. It is quite possible that he might not have known that Amon had corrupted the Khala. If that is the case then he could still say doomsday for everyone without necessarily needing to mention the Khala being corrupted. It is also noted that it is possible that Ouros was able to have a conversation with the overmind due to the mission briefings in the zerg campaign of SCI
