I think R32’s look the best in gloss jet black.
White ones look pretty good too. That’s the only 2 colours I’d paint one imo.

@@benserkowski4663 yeah, BBS LM, alot of R32's have them. But I did see a gloss black one with these and the BBS text was bright yellow. Really popped when they were spinning.
Perfect candidate for a wide body, looks like it's been lifted by the roof, just go the non sunroof cut and get it done. Nardo grey goes okay.
My suggestions, no compromise. Paint it the colour you want. Spend a little extra to get it done right because you're not going to paint it again.
Nardo grey imo wouldn't look great on a skyline, I think gunmetal or even a millennium jade would look really nice
Edit: and personally I'd cut the roof and go no sunroof but I get ots personal preference
Nardo grey is so generic, just having the money to paint it and choosing a grey is so disappointing
thats kinda facts but I really exotic color would look wack on a skyline, probably need to stick with like a dark shade of some color.@@excalibur2038
I’m repainting my 32 coupe and it’s in grey primer atm and honestly it looks tough just in grey. I’ve got kh2 gunmetal grey to spray on but i think nardo would look sick personally

I binged this series yesterday and was so EXCITED to see this posted today
you made the right call mate, I have an identical project which was 'only gonna take 6 months'. I've done every single thing myself, body work, body kit, paint, rebuilt the motor - everything, it just kept snowbaling as these things do. 4 years later and I've only just dropped the motor back in... I've probably spent on par what I would've been charged if I took it to a shop, but the skills I've learned along the way are immeasurable. Hind sight is 20/20 though! Keen to see it finished though, keep the videos coming.

If a roof cut is the best option, just get what you can get.. I certainly wouldn’t be complicating things just because you like the sunroof.
Going on from that, blacks a nightmare on a good day. You would remember that with the MR2. If concealment is the goal, Silver is best. I doubt that’d be something you’d consider but, nevertheless it’d be fit for purpose.

mid night blue/purple with either black or white rims and accents would be nice, might hide stuff too cause it’s dark but not black dark and still have the gloss that your after
I’ve always had a thing for the factory red pearl metallic on the R32’s. White, silver or gunmetal look amazing too.

Is it possible to get the non-sunroof roof cut and use section off it which is damaged on your car? Looks like it may be possible to make it work.
Also as mentioned by others, could be a good time to paint the engine bay if the engine was out!
R32s always look clean with a dark gold paint job with black rims

What would be pretty cool would be to have that dark shade of Nardo Gray with a splash of green pigment in it, so it would become a very nice desaturated dark green. Very unique color. I'm sure it would fit the style of the R32, since 80's cars usually have that sort of experiemental colors. You could also mix a very small amount of some very cheap green flake with some 2K Clear and you got yourself a looker. That desaturated green with the tiniest bit of metallic flake would make it stand out of the crowd. Plus it would be extremely cheap.
Regarding the roof... If it was mine, i'd personally have it bent as much as it's possible to minimize the gap. The glue seals it anyway, so it wouldn't really rain inside, if that's the problem. It's already a base model Skyline, at least have some options on it.
It doesn't have HICAS, it doesn't have AWD, it doesn't have the engine computer display thingy or any of the cool options. If you strip it of its sunroof, it really gets left with nothing.

I just cant say this 32 was a good buy. Should be actually getting rid of it in favour of a cleaner shell if you were going to restore it anyway.

Nardo grey looks a bit funny on an r32 imo. Either stick to like a gloss black or potentially go with white.

The nocking maybe caused by incorrect timing, or the engine getting fuel or oil into the intake. In my case I got loud knocking from a faulty turbo which allows the oil to get into the intake. Good luck and greetings from Germany.

Surely you could use a non sunroof cut then install a sunroof in the at afterwards. Would cost you a bit more in the long run but you get best of both worlds

It's all good bro. Some people have strengths and weaknesses in this field.
I'm mechanically minded but i absolutely don't do wiring or painting. I've tried it but I've never been able to get a grasp on it. admitting you can't do something is a huge strength man. Focus on what you can do and get that down pat. Then in the future you can take on a few minor projects to start off with and go from there.

Why not get the non sunroof cut and then transfer the runroof over to it? Shouldnt be hard for bodyshop to do. And I think a midnight purple would be nice.
