    Mistakes...
    1, Cold bun? Wrong!
2, Hot dogs not kept in hot water? Wrong!
3, Was that ketchup I saw him put on that dog? Wrong! Ketchup is for burgers or fries.
    My humble opinion.

Attitude! Smile and laugh. Self depreciating humor seems to work the best. The less than 1% of your customers that won't accept it, won't be coming back anyway or maybe they will. If you screw up, admit it and throw some humor on it. The couple of bucks you lose on that sale, will usually bring more sales. Just grit your teeth and smile and let them know you appreciate their comments. Yeah, I know eating shit and barking at the moon is a dogs problem, but when did a dog ever have a business? THX Ben

Friend of mine once said that when helping out at a stand someone came over and said the same thing about cold food, but asked for her receipt which she had, turns out that she had ordered her food over an hour earlier. He showed it to the bosses and they told her that since she ordered her food over an hour ago they were not at fault for uneaten cold food. They offered her a take out box to take it home and heat it up later but she said no and walked away.
My friend then told me that the lady went to the owner of the space the vendor was working. Lets just say this lady was a scammer, she wanted something and was making to much of a mess, she was lying about the receipt time but the moment she got caught lying because the vendor had security camera's and showed her on them both ordering and coming back after an hour to complain, she got up and left and my friend said she was in her car so fast and burned rubber to get away!
I heard they put her face up in the banned list at the counter for everyone to see after that. She hasn't come back since but they still have it up.

I noticed a lot of videos the cook is adding on the toppings ketchup mustard ect. Other then the Chile hot cheese or the grill onions things like that. The regular toppings can the costumer just add on themselves? To save time.

Yes and some vendors only add the main ingredients like chili and cheese.

I wanted to do this for a long time have my own hot dog stand. I live in laurens s.c and dhec have given me the hardest time .can you believe that to have a hot dog stand you have to have a restaurant to do the prepping yes for a hot dog stand it doesn't make any cense if I had a restaurant I wouldn't be selling hot dogs on the street also you cant take you cart home you have to leave it at the restaurant or rent a storage place for your cart so sad do you know any way to do this

Yea Julia, all states require a commissary. See my blog at learnhotdogs.com and do a search for commissary, you'll find I've made it easy to get a free one.

HELP please! I found what I thought was the BEST Dogs, I made a deal with the owner.... settled on a price. And now that my cart is being made they literally doubled the price and started advertising for franchising. So who/where are the Stores/Dealers that I can buy better than store dogs. Help please

Unless you want to give customers what they want - it's the number one condiment in the U.S. and a must for successful vendors. A vendor who refuses to offer ketchup is letting ignorant biases reduce their income.

It's a good thing you're only making hot dogs but maybe you should try comedy.I'm from a big city so we have hot dog stands and food trucks, finding a hot dog cart would be like finding a unicorn. There is some law that does not allow street food to be sold near any restaurant and that leaves little room for cart vendors.
