Bolliger and Mabillard originally worked for intamin before separating and starting their own company. This coaster was originally at magic mountain and debuted as the shockwave. Since then it's had other homes including great adventure as shockwave, astroworld as batman the escape, and finally at Laronde.
Erm this wasn’t Batman the escape at astroworld. That was the third standup built by intamin. Batman the escape is sitting outside of Dorney park and it is disassembled and currently rotting out.
Walter and Claude worked for Giovanola before leaving and forming B and M, and Giovanola was sub-contracted by Intamin for rides (including this ride). Also, this was the second Intamin stand-up built (this was a clone of the Magic Mountain Shockwave, and this opened at Skara Sommarland in Sweden in 1988 before being moved to La Ronde). The third and final Intamin stand-up built was Shockwave at Drayton Manor.
Coaster Crusader a guy worked was working on it he removed a piece hit some sort of button and the cart rolled by itself hit him and he died it happened in 2016 but they only started demolishing it this year
When Walter and Claude worked at Giovanola, they developed the zero car, 4-across seating, pre-drop, box track, and threading track inside a loop. They took those ideas with them when they left and formed B and M. Intamin sub-contracted Giovanola for many early rides, including this one.
I TRULY MISS THIS RIDE. ONE OF MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITES. TOO BAD THEY TORE IT DOWN.
Pourquoi il lon enlever?

Miles Campbell Actually, it was stored at Darien Lake. I say “was” because the park posted on their Facebook that they scrapped it last winter.

Nice footage!
This must be one of those pre-B&M Intamin coasters.
Yes, Intamin sub-contracted this ride to Giovanola (Walter and Claude worked at Giovamola before they left and formed Band M).
It looks bumpy
Standup Twister Coaster 1 looks too intense for me
Is there a reason why this looks like a B&M?
The company that Manufactured the track was Giovanola (defunct) who at the time was a sub-contractor for both Intamin and B&M.
B&M Was originally part of Intamin so they used their box track design, Cobra was made before B&M Split into their own company
it looks very b&m like
Anyone know what is going to happen to this ride? I'd hate to see it scrapped

When my cousin went on this, he was too short and the "seat" have him a wedgie
it was originally yellow and silver right?
thats b&m track
