Mushrooms in the Swales

- After waiting for three years for rain, Al Baydha Project finally got a second test of its water system the last week of January, 2014. A week later, I found these mushroom growing where some of the swale had silted up. Not only do these fungi show that we are dramatically improving soil moisture but also that there is a living fungal network underneath our ground, which is one of the foundations for reestablishing healthy soil and reforesting the area.
Mushroom growth is the beginning of soil creation.
Amazing channel
The Israelite wandered through the wilderness for 40 years i believe it would've said desert instead if that wasn't true be blessed by God and continue this wonderful life changing work I wish to help and build dams
fabulous, returning the peninsula to it's Mediterranean past
Man oh man. The odds of those spores ever having a chance to land, grow, & prosper in that environment must be incredible.
Thanks for sharing
your hard work is now giving its fruit
Al Baydha project location: 21°03'05.44" N 39°54'10.87" E - it is extremely hard to find without these exact coordinates.
You can follow the site's progress using Google Earth, and witness the transformation of what was a wasteland.
A Saudi Mushroom...wow.
That's truly a "wow" moment. Good to see the progression. :-)
I love your videos. I've seen all of them. Please post more even if you think they're insignificant. I want the smallest details. You are a very dedicated individual. Keep up the good work. And may Allah make you successful in your tenure.
How are things greening up in the canyon above the swales? I've been following your project for a least the last year or so, and I'm eager to see how things go for you. I wish you the best.
Wonder when the last time they got to come out and play was? Great job. More videos!!

That is probably a Coprinus-relative, the inkcaps. They grow on decaying organic matter.
Oh, and the ones on two photos you have on Instagram are parasol-relatives, Lepiota or Chlorophyllum. They also live from decaying organic matter.
Both kinds are not mycorrhiza, but will certainly promote soil life and increase water capacity in the soil.
