This is probably my favorite episode for Bad Batch yet. No Cameos to steal the groups thunder, and nothing but good interactions and action from this show's cast. The Bad Batch and Sid. On top of giving us more of what makes this show a wonder, seeing the Galaxy during the Imperial transitionary period. Great stuff! More of this!

The show so far as very cleverly avoided straight combat episodes because (imo) that would growm tedious very quickly. Very wisley (imo) theyve avoided this so far)
I totally agree... the series needs episodes like this. It has to breathe. If every episode is jammed with major plot twists, it gets tiring and ridiculous as too many things are crammed in. The big moments only feel big if there are smaller moments to support them. Episodes like this amplify the depth of the series as a whole. You can see what's going on in different parts of the galaxy, what else is going on, how it's affecting the big picture. This is what I love about Star Wars, immersing us in completely new worlds and realities. Plus, the only way to build character is with time, not action. We're getting all kinds of growth with all these characters, even Cid. Plus, now that the Bad Batch knows their brothers - who they fought with for all their lives - are being surreptitiously controlled by a chip. Of course they don't want to kill their brothers if they can avoid it.

The Tanks advancing on the crowd is one of my all time favorite star wars moments. It just shows the might of the clone army and how evil the republic was from the start. The planets just wanted to leave…
14:50: That’s my main issue with this episode. They introduce this wonderful character plot line for Echo, but don’t really resolve it. The end kind of does that but it’s too rushed I would like to have seen more character backstory on the senator, see where he is as as an ex separatist besides just being a pseudo rebel, “I want to save my people” and asset to rescue. Just a very Rebels style mission rather than complex episode
One thing they could retcon - Jengo and Boba could have known about Omega, even had their own name for her... maybe they raised her till she was like 3 or 4. She wouldn't really remember that. But, they could have been made to believe she was killed. If Omega is about 10 in this show, she was about 6-7 when the Clone Wars started. So, if she was separated from Jengo and Boba, it would have to have happened a few years prior to Episode II.
I like this episode but only wish they expanded to a two-parter. Echo suffered a lot during his captivity, also lost his entire squad thanks to the Clankers. I wish he and Senator Singh could bound over the fact that in the end from a different point of view both of them lost that war.
I would have preferred to see it be forty minutes to an hour to fully explore their conflicting beliefs and character arcs. His distrust of separatists…. as for Singh, I don’t see any separatist trusting clones because of what happened during the war as well as what’s taking place with the empire using clones to oppress his people. Should have had far more conflict, conflict that leads to growth. So much opportunity for a complex storyline. The fact that they didn’t do that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Is it my imagination or were the AT-TEs taller in this episode than they were in either The Clone Wars or in the two episodes of Rebels that they were in? In CW & Rebels, the bottom of the hull of the AT-TE is just slightly taller than the heads of a clone trooper but the AT-TEs in the Bad Batch episode Common Ground, seemed to me to be at least three times taller than the older ones Why?

This was a cool episode. You would think they would know that they lost the war. So occupation by the winning side is a normal thing. If anything Imperial forces should have had a bigger presence on the former center of the Separatist Gov. It would have been nice to see at least some ships if the Imperial Navy is in orbit. The Imp was a Captain.
I was thinking that myself as well. I mean this was the Capitol World of the Confederacy of Independent Systems their would be at least an Imperial Fleet stationed there. Most worlds that have joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems didn't like the Republic and rebellions on Separatists Worlds should be expected once the Empire occupies their Worlds.
Exactly. Even if the empire were still the republic, I would imagine the republic navy blockading the planet and the Senate levying punitive laws on all separatist worlds. Indemnities and so forth. But that also depends on your point of view as Obi wan would say. Seppies would definitely see it as an unjust occupation and I could see the Senator nursing disdain towards both the empire and distrust towards the bad batch. I’m sure most seppies see the clones as one and the same. So if he sees these clones in black armor rescuing him, I can’t imagine him being so okay trusting them at first. The writers should have used that as a way of further increasing the tension between them while expanding on echo’s character by delving further into his ptsd and distrust of seppies. Unfortunate that this episode didn’t expand the world by touching on these things. Because of that I’m not as fond of it.
Kyle he 's the sanator for Onderon, not Raxes. He and his mum lived in Raxulon, because of the separatist parlement! Like Bail Organa lived on Corucant, not on Alderaan
I know we are in a universe full of “space wizards” & dogfights in the vacuum of space (& there’s absolutely nothing wrong w that), but it’s impossible to create a clone of a different sex than the original. You can’t change xx/xy genetic makeup. I’m still leaning towards the idea that Omega is Boba’s sister in that she’s the clone of Jengo’s or Boba’s natural sister.
You should have ended this comment at "we are in a universe full of “space wizards” & dogfights in the vacuum of space" because after that trying to pick holes in the science of a space *fantasy* saga like Star Wars is kind of pointless.
I'm wondering if that was really a droid popper or a similar looking stun device. I say that because the senator's droid was standing right there and was unaffected.
I wouldn’t really call it Echo quoting Hardcase. I’d imagine that “live to fight another day” is a somewhat common saying among soldiers (irl and in Star Wars)
@@sirboomsalot4902 echo “died” at the citadel, well before umbara. Hardcase sacrificed himself to destroy a seperatist ship, while fives and jesse survived
I don't think this is filler. Particularly given the character growth of both Omega and Echo. Didn't the bounty hunter game with Jango show how he's a tactical genius. Things that he was teaching Boba prior to his death. I believe we're once again seeing Dave bring those elements back. Because OF COURSE his daughter would be a tactician. I also LOVED the banter between Cid and Omega, it got several good laughs out of me. For me, Hunter feels inadequate, because despite his record, he never tangled with someone like Bane before. It probably scared him, and his reaction was reasonable. The moment he ordered her to stay, I started thinking about a Gears Of War 2 cutscene. particularly liked the auto response of giving Tech and Omega an order. Echo was an MVP because you have to figure he has PTSD from the Techno Union, and being a Reg, he has a different perspective then the rest of the squad. But he's still(mostly) human. Seeing what happened to Crosshair and the Imperial Occupations has him sympathetic to the senator, which is fantastic. Also, I'm a sucker for stealth missions
I still think there was too little character development from echo. Needed to have more and a resolution of that in some way whether a look from him or some dialogue. But that didn’t happen. As for the senator he had absolutely no issue being rescued by “clones,” who he also saw oppress his people. I’m sure most seppies see clones as mindless drones. So why would he trust these random black clad troopers so quickly? Should have had some tension and trust exercises
This was another boring episode with missed opportunities. Still no character growth with the bad batch and at this point if they were all killed i wouldn’t care.

You should have ended this comment at "we are in a universe full of “space wizards” & dogfights in the vacuum of space" because after that trying to pick holes in the science of a space *fantasy* saga like Star Wars is kind of pointless.
Some Star Wars names have several pronunciations
Ironic seeing clones (the batch) use droid poppers on mindless droid-like clones.
I'm wondering if that was really a droid popper or a similar looking stun device. I say that because the senator's droid was standing right there and was unaffected.
@@donaldwatson7698 that’s a very good point! The thought of it gave me a good laugh though.

I’m surprised you didn’t pick up on Echo quoting Hardcase
Edit: nvm, I’m an idiot. They were never together
I wouldn’t really call it Echo quoting Hardcase. I’d imagine that “live to fight another day” is a somewhat common saying among soldiers (irl and in Star Wars)
The full expression is "he who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day."
@@3man659 True, but wasn’t Echo one of the soldiers who Hardcase saved? Or am I confused?
@@sirboomsalot4902 if my memory’s correct, I don’t believe Hardcase and Echo ever appeared on screen together
@@sirboomsalot4902 echo “died” at the citadel, well before umbara. Hardcase sacrificed himself to destroy a seperatist ship, while fives and jesse survived
Pls pls pls pls pls react to tale from the 501st checkpoint and also another amazing video

is it a star wars sin that i call the suulistan pancake faces. i'm heavily invested in star wars lore but i love food and yeah,,,
I don't think this is filler.
Hi Kyle! Please react to NIHILUS- FALL OF KATARR

Poor hat
Nah it creates AT-RTs
This was another boring episode with missed opportunities. Still no character growth with the bad batch and at this point if they were all killed i wouldn’t care.
Amazing. Every word of what you just said...was wrong.
Episodes like this are very important. There was a lot of character growth this episode, actually
@@calebcustombricks2631 not really. As in the bad batch are still the same.
