@@fqeagles21 I think that bop was fair to toyota in le mans and it is fair to ferrari post le mans regarding that they got nerfed a bit. It was expectible that this year would be a lot of "figuring things out" since you have so many different ideas in one class, every car has a difference from another giving them advantages and disatvantages and I think thats where bop kicks in to make the field more competetive which isnt bad this year but of course it has ways to improve

@@fqeagles21 bop was changed on le mans week, despite previous agreement of it not happeneing. that bop change had 1 objective which was to nerf toyota, which was the best for ferrari as they were the 2nd best behind toyota. bop was heavily in ferraris favour. in fact noone is even close to toyota on merit, they have years of advantage afterall

I live here, so am lucky enough to get an annual fix of WEC at Fuji, though this year was a must-see with all of the hypercars. Of course, Toyota is the big fan-favourite here but Ferrari, Porsche and Peugeot also have lots of support from the locals. I was particularly surprised by the pace of the 963s and the #99 Proton Porsche was really unlucky not to have finished higher.

A very good video once again. When i saw the race I knew you would make a video about this. Toyota having to fight for a win and having real competition. If anything went wrong mechanically or maybe a spin the Porsche would've won.

Maybe my knowledge is wrong, but the Toyota and Ferrari are also only 4WD after a certain speed limit, and before that they are also effectively RWD, no? Especially with the Ferrari you can hear the hybrid kick in at like 200 kph or so.
Great commentary btw, I really enjoyed this.
Also do you think we'll see the rest of the manufacturers win any time soon? I especially want to see that Caddy on the top.

Porsche looks like they are starting to figure the 963 out. I think it will be tough for caddy until they get a second car in wec. One bullet in the gun is so challenging in these longer races.
Next season will be a whole new game in hypercar. I doubt we will see this level of domination continue

I don't think the Toyota have a tyre wear and traction advantage from being 4 wheel drive. At least not anymore. Since the Hybrid is only activated at over 150kph or something like that.

      @GroovedSlick  Рік тому

      Glad you enjoyed!
Yeah, its really tough to know without data from the teams. I would say though, even in a straight line you can put a lot of heat in your tires so maybe not tire wear from big slides coming out of the corners, but even a little bit of additional heating on the straights might make a difference over 2 hours. But also maybe not haha

if only the number 5 porsche didnt get the early puncture and was up there. then porsche would actually have a chance of winning. the number 5 can hold up the toyotas as long as possible while the number 6 makes a dash for it. the 963 had good pace at fuji, they could've made something more of that pace

Let's be honest here: Ferrari has done an absolute miracle so far. Despite Toyota having a 5 year advantage in development, Ferrari has managed to win the Le Mans race, earn some pole positions and enstablish themselves as the 2nd best team straight away. And don't even mention BoP because both Toyota and Ferrari were damaged by it. At Le Mans Toyota had about a 30 seconds disadvantage over Ferrari because of it...but Ferrari won the race by about a minute

Weird way calling it Toyota's revenge. If there is such thing they already done it in Monza. I'm guessing the next race in Bahrain will be Toyota's revenge as well.

  • @ΔημήτριοςΚαραβασίλης-ω5λ

Toyota did not get any revenge. You don't do justice to Toyota's mentality.
The only thing that saddened Toyota was the #7 DNF
FIA ACO gave BOP advantage to Ferrari in order to raise the difficulty in Toyota's race.
In Le Mans #7 Toyota did quit due to getting hit by #66 Ferrari GTE and #35 Alpine LMP2.
If #7 didn't quit Toyota would had won Le Mans.
Toyota did mistakes with #8 Toyota. #8 hit a squirrel and it was damaged. They couldn't find out the origin of poor performance until it was too late. Aerodynamic performance was hampered due to damage. One problem brought another.Brakes and tyres suffered from overheating.
When Hirakawa took the wheel, team ordered him to risk everything.
Hirakawa must be praised, as he managed not only to finish the race, but he did it without losing second position!
