I used reverse weeding to do my daughter’s reception seating chart on a mirror! I wish I could upload the image. It was 5ft tall. 122 names. First & last. Each letter separate. Came out beautiful. True labor of love!!
Wow!!! What a game changer!!! While being convinced my maker was not cutting my vinyl well enough and tearing out my hairs.... I found your tutorial and that’s a wrap!!! Thank you a zillion❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for all your clear videos, I have neurological issues and can't handle cameras all over the place and music with the tutorials, your videos are clear, calm and better for me so thank you 💕
Oh my goodness. This is exactly what I needed. I’ve just spent two hours trying to weed tiny letters and have wasted so much time and vinyl. I’ve given up for the night but will try this tomorrow. Thank you!
I thought that I'd be wasting time to watch this video. WRONG!! Best thing to learn and I fought with vinyl letters and I won't mess it up again. Easy peasy now!
Thank you this is a game-changer! I was at my wit's end and now weeding is easier and less time-consuming. Still have to practice but I'm more confident moving forward since I won't be wasting vinyl.

Thank you so much for this video!! I get beyond frustrated trying to weed teeny weeny letters - wasting a TON of vinyl. This is a real game changer! The thing I love the very most about your video is that you admit it takes practice. Any of the others I've watched make it seem easy, which then, make me feel stupid for not being able to do it!! Thanks again! :-)
Thank you! Tiny letters have become my nemesis and I told someone last week "I'm done trying small projects with little letters"! I've tried reverse weeding with no more luck than "front weeding", but had never thought about using the mat as the "extra set of hands"! Can't wait to try this.
I use the mat but it is also another sticky surface and you’ll go through mats quicker. I like burnishing the back of the project as well as the front. Spending extra time on difficult places. Also when pulling transfer or backing do it at 180 very slowly. For me reverse weeding adds more trouble than it solves. But it works for others and I hope it worked for you too.
I love doing very intricate designs. This technique has changed my frustration level to almost nil. Wish I had known about it a long time ago. Thank you!
Rachel you do a FANTASTIC job explaining this process and demonstrating what to do. Thank you. I enjoy your tutorials and hope you continue to share more handy tips for vinyl, using your Easy Press, and working with specialty materials. Wishing you, Tanner, and the entire MGL team a super week. Hugs Susan
OMG! the best video I have ever watched, I was able to watch it on my break at work because it was so short and sweet. I love this technique, I really struggled with the cursive font (which is my absolute favorite!) prior to the videos you guys did on reverse weeding! FOREVER GRATEFUL, trying to save for your membership!
a year later I'm just now seeing this video, THANK YOU!! I have a project that I put on the back burner bc the letters are so small that I kept losing them while weeding. Now I can complete this project and continue to do more of them. Thank you so much for showing this.
Oh my god! I wish I had seen this before I did my first project. Of course I had to choose a very intricate font because that's who I am and it took me forever! You just changed my life LOL
Thank you sooo much for this video. I am a beginner and heard horror stories about weeding. Did my first project with your tips and it was not a nightmare. Subscribed and liked.
Great tip for intricate designs. I use a large Industrial vinyl cutter at work to make big signs. This is a simple yet effective way to weed those fiddly small jobs that I want to make with my Cricut at home. X
Look had I known about this video this morning it would have saved me a few sheets of vinyl that I had messed up every single darn time! I had tiny writing and I was bout ready to call it quits then boom I get home and look this up and my cup is finally done.THANKS
As a sign professional that runs a vinyl department, think LARGE SCALE, this is a trick I have used many times, however, in the sign industry this is not referred to as a reverse weed. For small projects that are intricate I have also found that it is helpful to apply the entire decal and weed the excess material off after application, using a square or rectangle around the design to aid in straight application.
OH my Rachel..........I finally tried reverse weeding on letters that were .5 inches high......thank you thank you thank you. This worked so easy. I love you guys!!!!!!!
@@jjleigh829 if you are reverse weeding permanent vinyl, just stick it on the keychain and burnish the back of the transfer paper, then lift it up. It’s just the same process as using transfer paper with a regualary weeded piece.

Thank you for the video! I just tried reverse weeding for the first time and failed. I thought I did something wrong but then I watched your video and I did everything that you did except I didn't leave it on the mat. I failed because as I was weeding the excess vinyl it stuck to another part of the design and pulled up those pieces :( I am cutting the design again and trying another time! :)
Awesome video! Short. To the point. perfectly illustrated! Thank you for making such amazing videos. This kind of content will keep me coming back! I will certainly be sharing this link with friends and family who also use Cricut! Many THANKS!

Can't wait to try reverse weeding. I am using Cricut Shimmer and Cricut Transfer tape. The transfer tape lifts off ok but can't lift the vinyl backing with the measuring lines on it. Also my vinyl isn't sticking to the tape. Very frustrating.
Hello! Yes, Cricut glitter and Cricut shimmer vinyl are our least favorite materials to use!!! They are SO frustrating! We usually need to use StrongGrip Transfer Tape
Great video! Thank you! So I have a question: When reverse weeding a reverse image with 651 (to put on the back of glass), inevitably, finger/palm prints end up on the vinyl. Do you know how to fix this after the damage is done?
