one thing i learned while working on boats, electrical tape just keeps water in. now I use heat shrink connectors and liquid electrical tape the snot out of everything afterward. works well
Fast strippers are totally worth their $25 cost. And just get the shrink wrap and to keep everything together, and SOLDER all connections. Quick couplers come apart, electrical tape rotts away, take the time to do it once or make the time to do it again🤙🍻 Awsome video as always sir
I’ve never soldered my connections. Not that it’s a bad thing. I just suck at soldering 🤷🏻♂️. I do, however, crimp all wire connections and use “adhesive lined” (that’s important) shrink tube. I route all the wiring into and out of a junction box inside of a weather protected steel box that I welded to the back of my hitch plate when I fabbed my rear hitch. The I apply liberal amounts of grease to all plug connections at the lights. I wired mine in 2007 and no issues yet. Full time mobile welding rig in the mid-Atlantic US.
If you would install grommets in bed first then put in lights it will be easier . Grommets need to seat on both sides of plate that is easier to do without the light in
Find it interesting man I’ve been watching your videos here and there for years now. Over here welding stainless and run into a few of these guys that worked with you over at 1888 hell the helper that bought that gmc you put the dually kit on and built the welding bed on is here even. Lol
Man all I’ve heard is that you’re a standup guy. Which I picked up from your videos already haha. Those of us that can heliarc are hanging on here at blackeagle for the moment but they already had the wave of layoffs so it’s just a matter of time now hahahaha
Sent. Idk things are slow right now. Like I say the 6 of us welding stainless are kinda worried about December and January. Never know which of us will get laid off in the second round. Oh well the way it is. I’ll tell you what I know when you get my email.
Hey man I want to thank you for naming the colors on wiring we needed that information today

100% agreed. If you don’t have time to do it right the first time, when will you have time to come back and redo it.

A junction box makes life so much easier.
Absolutely! I get mine from the local trailer dealership.
Looking just slick
