We wish all of continued blessings!❤😘
I looooove your videos, ; they’re always so informative and your personality just shines thru. Thanks for all you do to teach us how to wear and take care of our second hair!
Yes, I totally agree about the way you talk Patti - it's familiar and comforting, puts you at your ease, like talking to one of your pals, or a good sister 😃 I'm just starting out wearing wigs and you make me feel comfortable and confident about it. Thanks so much!!
Hi Patti, I'm from Belgium (Europe) but I just love your videos. Now my questions: 1) is using baking powder better than using dry shampoo? 2) can I use Woolite and a wash softener in stead of a wig shampoo and conditioner? 3) I'm on chemo, and I bought a cheap synthetic long wig that is very nice but also very shiny, it is a mixed color of dark brown and auburn Thank you for your advice! Many greetings from Belgium and have a fantastic 2019!
Baking powder instead of dry shampoo will make the wig last longer . We really don't suggest fabric softener as it can cause the wig to come untied from the cap. While it will make the wig feel soft it will also add a film over time that will make the wig feel dirty.
You mentioned synthetic shampoo what is that? Do I need a certain kind or can I use any shampoo to wash the wig? Looking forward to hearing from you. Carrie
You Should never use regular shampoo on a synthetic wig. They need special products (shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, etc...) that is made for synthetic hair.
You can only use synthetic wig products. To Spike ends you can use the Jon Renau flexible spray gel, Jon Renau Piece Out Contour Fiber Cream and Jon Renau Holding Spray.
Thank you so much for this video. I noticed at about 5 minutes, you said to spray the conditioner over the wig and near the roots. Did I get that right? I thought we should avoid the roots with conditioner?
The instructions say to spray throughout the body of the wig (not the actual roots). However, it will not hurt the roots on a machine-made wig. You just don't want to spray it on the roots of a handtied wig because it will soften and loosen the knots.
Baking Soda is not harsh on synthetic fiber. It's great for shine. It will also help bring a wig back to life if it's had too much products (hairspray, styling products, etc.....) added overtime.
Patti, I love your videos... I have learned so much from you. But, Do you have any tips for removing a wig? or, specifically one that has a lace front, and has been secured with Walker tape glue? Or? Just Lace wig bond? Because, I've heard alcohol... then I hear NO NEVER use alcohol... and I tried the walker remover... But, It leaves a nasty tacky residue... No matter what, it does not ever go away. I've ruined a few wigs with that product. So... What advice do you have? or can you do a video on removing a lace front wig?
Hi Melissa! A little bit of water or Jon Renau's wonderful product, Lace Let Go, should do the trick! www.wigsbypattispearls.com/jon-renau-lace-let-go.html
Hi there! You'll need to wash it thoroughly to get the baking soda off the fibers. Soak your wig in a water/shampoo bath for about 15 minutes in cool water. Then shampoo and condition as normal, really working the shampoo through the hair to get the baking soda out. Here's a tutorial for washing your wig: ua-cam.com/video/6FtUDoztoNE/v-deo.html Use a silicone wig spray to resoften the fibers after drying, if needed (such as Envy's Renu and Repair Glosser Spray).
@@Wigsbypattispearls thank you. I’ll try that. btw, do u have any suggestions for a non Remy JR human hair wig that is tangling? I’ve tried everything I can think of, even steam and fabric softener! 😊. Thanks
You don't have to have a certain amount of water. You just want to be sure that there is enough to cover the wig. You can use your bathroom sink if you like then just use your equal parts of shampoo and baking soda.
i would love to order a new wig, but i find that they all rise up at the back. my hair is very thin and fine. can you suggest anything. ps i love what you do x
There could be a few different things going on: 1. you may need a different size 2. it could be the way the bend is in your neck.....it all depends on how far it is rising up. To fix you could either try a different size or you could sew toupee clips in so that you could clip the wig in. We sell the toupee clips and we can also sew them in.
Hi Liselle! Conditioner won’t add shine to the wig. It's essential for keeping the fibers healthy, to avoid them from drying out and breaking down so quickly. If you are using a shine spray such as Jon Renau's Wig Luster, then that would add shine to the wig; but no worries with using conditioner😊
I have a ridiculously shiny wig. In fact I am doing this right now as I'm watching the video. I have no hope for my wig which is adorable but just so fake looking. I don't know the results yet! It's in progress as Patty talks!😮😮😮
What can you use if you do not have leave in conditioner? Can I just condition as normal after rinsing? Or alternatively can you just spritz the synthetic wig with a dry shampoo to reduce shine?
We never suggest using regular conditioner on a synthetic wig. You should only use the leave in conditioner made specifically for synthetic wigs. This should be done every time you wash the wig to help keep it healthy; otherwise , the fiber will not last as long. We also do not advise using dry shampoo. It can dry the fiber out. The only methods that we suggest are using Jon Renau's Wig Wand which is made specifically to reduce shine, add baking soda to the shampooing process or dust your hands with a very small amount of talcum powder then gently rub hands through hair.
I just love how you talk. Feels so homey and welcoming.
this lady is absolutely adorable
I love when you say “shake the tar out of it.” It makes me smile every time. 😂😂😂
I don't even wear wigs that often, but I just love how she talks. 💖
"A little more tassles make it better".............you just make me smile so much!
Patti makes us smile too!🥰🥰

I use dry shampoo from Dollar Store. Then brush thru.It works so easy & no mess.I use fabric softener mixed with equal parts water for tangles.
Love you Patty!!!
Sounds easy! Thanks! 👍🏻
Thanks....always learn something new from you! More tassels too funny!

Work on cheap synthetic wigs too?
It works on all of the ones that we sell
So you sell wigs, says me dumbly, I honestly thought you just did reviews. How do I buy from you? I love you! :)

I have also heard to use a dry shampoo.. have you tried that?
Hi Danica! Here is a link to a video of Patti using dry shampoo! ua-cam.com/video/GGNR1wmrMjk/v-deo.html

You too!!

Do you have information on how to tone down a synthetic wig? Several people have told me that the color of one wig I have is too harsh.
Hi Kathie, We never suggest trying to change the color on a synthetic wig.
Kathie Condon you can't change the colour of a dark wig it's plastic
Thank you so much for your awesome video. ❤️
Thanks for watching!
Could you please tell me what wig that is so I can order it from you???
Patti is wearing Jazz by Jon Renau in 12FS8
Love watching you... Ur the best... Can you please move to Texas? Lol
Sooooooo Sweet and Lovely thank you!!!
I love you personality

Please Patti, what wig is that you are wearing today ? Darling!

Would this also work on dark Brown Remy Human Hair wigs that are too shiny and look synthetic?
Yes....it's good for all colors
@@Wigsbypattispearls thank you 😊 really appreciate your reply
This is second video I've seen that didn't show the results, how will we know if it worked, do the full time thank you

When I put my new JR Cameron in baking soda it became dry and crispy, just sticking out stiff. Is there anyway to reverse that? TIA

Does this method works oh human hair wigs?
I would use dry shampoo for human hair
Can you use baby shampoo?
Hi Cathy, we recommend using shampoo specially formulated for synthetic fibers!
Do you suggest to do this with a brand new wig that is super shiny?
There are multiple ways to treat a shiny wig (regardless if it's new or used). You can use the baking soda method, dry shampoo, baby powder, etc.....
what kind of shampoo did u use
Patti uses Jon Renau's synthetic wig shampoo
