I purchased the Accuphase E380 from Audio Salon in 2023. I use a Chord DAC and LUMIN streamer with KEF speakers magical soundstage, wide, detailed three dimensional. Great service at AUDIO SALON. I Would highly recommend this company.. Mark from Massachusetts..
This was closer than I expected. They both sounded great. However, I feel the Accuphase had a darker background. It just sounded a tiny bit cleaner/clearer. I heard more difference in the texture of the drums for instance. Accuphase wins by a very narrow margin. 👍🏾
Although I still preferred the McIntosh in this setup, you're absolutely right, they both sounded very close to each other. Opinions in the comments are split 50/50. Thank you for watching and your comment!
The Accuphase is very clear and detailed while the McIntosh is a bit more dynamic and warmer. For long listening I would prefer the McIntosh which might be less fatiguing. But that’s me and both are very good.
I was surprised by Mcintosh's sound, of course in a good way. And Accuphase remained the same dry sound (my subjective opinion). And the video, as always, is of excellent quality.
Accuphase in this setup sounds more like real music esp the vocals although not sure about bottom end on that 1st track. Then again I have actually heard the Olymoicas f2f and they were underwhelming and not so interesting but then did seem well matched with the accuphase
Thank you for watching and commenting! In this case, I personally liked the McIntosh a bit more... But it's really a matter of taste and sound perception. In fact, the difference between the two amplifiers was sometimes barely noticeable. Based on the comments, I see that opinions are split 50/50🙂
@Audio-Salon yes, exactly, it is personal. My favourite local hifi store and I like different sounds yet we agree on the differences in equipment so it's just preference.
can't decide between the sonetto 8 g2 or the olympiva nova 2, can the 1 woofer of the nova handle the bass without going cabove his limits?? advice please. there is no description of the woofer, or whether it is a long-throw or high excursion woofer ,my amp is a yamaha AS-2200
The Olympica Nova 2 are very "musical" speakers, but it seemed to me that the bass, while very precise, articulate, and fast, is not particularly deep. However, the room where I recorded the video is quite large. On the other hand, at home, I have another pair of floor-standing speakers, the Sonus Faber Lumina 5, which are much more affordable than the Olympica 2. In my opinion, they have deeper bass, though they naturally lose out to the Olympica in every other frequency range. I don’t know the size of your room, but I assume the Sonetto 8 might suit your needs better.

Accuphase sounds more natural to me. Really good recorded (again 👍).
The differences in sound turned out to be very subtle. I see that opinions are split fifty-fifty... Thank you for watching and commenting!

I liked both sets.
Me too..) They sound very similar.

Yes, I feel the same way. Having used a tube-based system my whole life, I found the sound of McIntosh to be preferable for me. Thanks!

They both sound very good together with the Olympica, but yes, I agree, the McIntosh sounded slightly better in this case.

@@Audio-Salon 100m2 room , maybe a little more
Mac was noticeably more natural sounding to my ears. The phase sounded more like electronics playing.
I also liked the McIntosh a bit more... Thank you!
McIntosh still sounds a bit better, but Accuphase looks more beautiful! :-)
Yes, same for me. Thank you!
None. Electrocompaniet amp is the brand to go if you have or plan to buy Sonus Faber speakers.
They sounds the same
I agree, very close. Thanks!
Both sounds bad. The problem here is the Sonus Faber speakers. 'Musical' is just an excuse for having a coloured sound.
😂😂 at this price they sonds excellently... expert 🤣🤣
