Evicting A Hoarder & Starting Renovations! Episode 4

Welcome to Episode 4 of "Our New Home Journey"! This is a big one! After purchasing our new property, we discovered the previous owner still living there with no intention of leaving. To make matters worse, he turned out to be a hoarder!
We started on a stressful and emotional journey to help him move out in a kind and helpful way. However, things took a turn when we felt our help wasn't appreciated, and he seemed to be taking advantage of the situation. We boxed up his items and paid for rubbish removal, sorting through everything he wanted to keep and discard. Our mantra has always been, "We'll help you if you help us."
The previous owner has been living rent-free in our property for four months. With our own eviction notice looming and our children starting school in the area in September, we had no choice but to start renovations. Frustratingly, the previous owner not only failed to assist but also complained about our renovations!
We finally managed to set up a small living space for him in a downstairs area of the property. This means he is now out of the main building, and we have changed the locks! This is huge progress as we can continue our renovations without further disturbances and move into our home.
