I think the author is giving us a ton of clues as to what is really going on in the story about the "Tower of god". My best guess is that there are a ton of people who want Jahad to be replaced. From what the Anime implies, the person at the top of the tower is the one who defines what the tower will be. Everyone who wants Jahad to be replaced at the top of the tower needs "a special someone" who can be lured into the maze with every tool at their disposal. The mouse: BAM The cheese: Rachel The tools: Yuri Jahad, Bam's friends. It's becoming clear to me that even toon readers don't seem to get the over arching plot in the authors mind and setup for the story. Rachel MUST get to the top in order to lure Bam into following her directly or indirectly for defeating Jahad. She's most likely a sacrifice who will get killed at the end of the story and give BAM a motive for defeating Jahad. Half of Bam's tools in this endeavor are regulars, or upper echoleon rankers. FUG (I don't really know anything) seems to be the known elements of this plan. But most likely a ton of people are in on toppling Jahad behind the scenes. Rachael gets the easy smooth path to the top because that is her purpose. Shes being played for all she's worth. I don't see her as a villain. I see her as a conflicted person who is without and desires something so badly that she resents everyone else. Even BAM. reguardless of whether she and BAM get along, she's unwittingly walking up the levels with Bam in tow. Racheals real story is that she's blinded by desire to get her own piece of the pie to say "I have", while BAM is blinded by Racheal into literally making oaths to give her everything. But she can't see the real situation she's in. She keeps seeing everyone around her as having more than her without realizing what Headon meant.... SHE HAS BEEN CAST AS THE STAR OF THE WHOLE SHOW/PLOT! Even when she laughs and her ugliness is on display she has to feel conflicted feelings of happiness and remorse. When she laughs in the Anime you can tell it's a half-hearted laugh, because she "got" something but doesn't really enjoy it not even in the laugh. She just laughs a forced laugh. The IRONY. The IRONY is not lost on me when it comes to Rachael. She's just waxing worse and worse because she already has everything she ever wanted at the bottom of the tower. She's just totally blind to it. BAM doesn't even desire the tower nor does he even like the way the tower is set up. That is why he is the natural candidate to topple the tower as an Irregular. He has the potential, the tools, and an indirect motive. All he needs to do is give chase to Rachael until the very top. Then if they kill her off in Jahad's presence, He'll finally have a motive to topple Jahad with everything he has. The Second GREATEST IRONY is that both Rachael and BAM don't need to climb the tower, they already have what they have always desired from the very beginning. Only Rachael is chasing the illusory promise all the way to top of the tower. Ironic, that she is already a star and the brightest one in BAM eyes. All this hate for Rachael is a lack of understanding of what is really going on around Rachael and BAM and who is really being mercilessly manipulated into making critical decisions.
Jojo try watching aninews channel that covers what the anime changes and cuts. You won't need to read the webtoon. Also there is a channel on here (forgot the name) they are voice acting the webtoon in english. So that could also be doable of you are not interested in reading the webtoon. Or you can just not just wanted to give you options for more info since you like the series a lot
they cut out Rachel's iconic line from the webtoon: I'M AFRAID OF THE NIGHT. [Night translates in Korean to Baam, to which the Japanese dub mentions as Yoru, his name - Twenty-Fifth Baam / Twenty-Fifth Night]; also a reference to her fear of darkness and utmost desire to see the sky and the shining stars
@@priestesslucy That may possibly be a reference to the fact that she can't do what she wants/see what she wants, because she can only do it with the main character, because all she is, is a side character. Oof.
I however, think that despite that they got quite a bit of depth with Rachel's VA and the idea that it's not really the stars she seeks, but the desire to be a star. And that being Bam's star wasn't enough for her.
My guess why they cut it is perhaps because in Japanese the double meaning would be lost in translation, similar to how it would be in English. In English, we can use the two separate terms of Bam and Night, meanwhile knowing the double meaning that is indicated. In Japanese, they would have had to use Bam/Yoru's name in saying "I'm afraid of the night" so it could have also doubled as "I'm afraid of Bam/Yoru." which would be confusing for some new viewers into thinking that Rachel thought Bam was alive and was afraid Bam would come after her. I'm not sure if the same nuances in Korean are the same as with Japanese, but my idea is that they cut it to avoid confusion.
1,- the author actually confirmed that Reachel wasn't supposed to be in the tower, she just fell in when Bam opened the door. 2.- I love Reachel as a character, but hate her as a person, she is written amazingly, making her aweful.
She is like a special irregular she Came from thé outside but she never opened thé door Spoilers for manga . . . . . . I think it is thé same with the leaders of the ten families thé Came in with had but never opened thé door
@@whodakeyzar2396 well, she is an irregular because she came from outside the tower, but because she didn't open the door herself, she isn't as powerful as a "normal" irregular, she is basically another regular power wise that happened to come from outside the tower, but she is nontheless an irregular
That part made me inhale so strongly. I'm so happy they added that in the anime. In my opinion, practically everything that the anime added was really well done.
I love you refering to Yu Han Sung as "barista boy" ^^ His whole character design is a troll, you see him wearing hanbok (korean traditional clothing) and immediately think it must be tea he's drinking... but no, it's instant coffee xD He is so underrated imho oh and yes of course *KhuBam is life*
13:42 i feel like her laugh here was really painful. It's more of a laugh of a person on a verge of breakdown than an evil mastermind. To me it's more of a "i did it... I can climb a tower now, i should be happy now, so why do i feel so empty?" kind of laugh.
@@JoJoTalksTooMuch Also Rachel does care a bit for Bam at first, but over time she'll grow to just despise him as much as I despise her And redhead's name is Hwaryun, she's a Navigator which means she knows every path in the tower and knows prescience. They basically feel the future
Speaking of, I wonder why they didn’t include the scene where they get the rings. Considering that’s kind of important to the whole FUG life situation. 🤔
@@Kashim_o I don't think it is that heavy of a plot device. In writing, I call that "unnecessary baggage that can be revised/removed". Like the comment above me said, FUG has its ways.
I loved that "flashback city" trip with Rachel so goddamn much. That entire sequence was utterly enchanting in a morbid sense. It was like watching an accident happen and being unable to look away. ALSO THE MUSIC-
tbh, i kinda hate they change the dialogue line between bam and hwaryun.. hwaryun didnt said 'i'll train you' ...if the anime version write it to 'i'll guide you' then it makes more sense because someone else is gonna be bam teacher... and what they did with changing bam line to some typical shounen positive vibe like 'i will make my own choice, blablabla then said i will climb the tower', and said it while standing is like waayyyy to 'light' for the scene... i remember in the webtoon when hwaryun ask him 'how do you feel bertrayed by someone that you care so much?' and bam replies with desperate feeling...feeling of pain, anger, broken..all that negative feeling that hes never felt before..he cant even stand and just crawling..still confused why rachel bertrayed him and want an answer, then hwaryun said whatever you seek is on top of the tower, so climb the tower..everything you want is on top of the tower... then end of season 1.
Rachel is a pathetic but complex human being. I hate her weakness and her as a person, but I love her as a character. So THAT's why Akryung disappeared. I wonder why Hwa Ryun is working with Hansung Yu. This was an amazing episode. It clarified so many things. But I've got so many new questions...
The whole point of Rachel is that she is a normal human. It’s completely impossible for her to achieve anything. Any monster or threat can kill her instantly, just like you a IRL human.
"Everything you seek is up there, at the top of the tower, so you just have to climb" On a serious note, everything should be answered in season 2. If you cannot wait, then read the manwha, and I would even recommend to read from chapter 1 to get some of the details the Anime skipped.
To understand Rachel's psychology you just have to understand: no matter what bad things she does, who she hurts, how many lies she tells, she will always see herself as the victim. Everything is so unfair for her, everyone is bad to her. She can't win bc everything is against her. That victim mentality is sickening. And it's the worse type of person. I hate her sooooo much🙄😤🤬
I thinks this will count as a spoiler Rachel kinda emphasizes that in S2. It was during the Hell Train arc where she goes on about how everything is unfair. I think she was mad cuz Khun beat her over and over again. I found that kinda annoying. Any WEBTOON reader understand me? Edit: hahahahaha I didn’t even know what I was saying just ignore this!
@@jebes909090 "I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is: I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat, or a prostitute." -- Rebecca West, 1913 Not every annoying woman is a feminist, they're just fucking annoying 😂😂
The tog anime community: We hate Rachel she is the worst Any webtoon reader after season 2: Oh my sweet summer child what do you know of Winter? But on a more serious note this adaptation was okay not the best they cutted a lot and made some questionable choices but y'know it was good overall. So if you're interested in the story and want to see more try the webtoon it's free and has more worldbuilding the characters are more nuanced and fleshed out. So if you're not as clinically turned off by webtoon and manga as Jojo try the webtoon you literally only lose time and internet connection
@@Eperogenay Well to be fair I think that the anime did a betterjob of explaining how Rachel's personality works except for her care for Baam. While I do think that Rachel does care for Baam in her own twisted way (mostly because of her heroine complex) it is not to the extent where she would mentally tell him to run in a situation where she would not benefit from it. But yeah apart from that it is watered down version of the webtoon story with some part changed for no good reason like Khun's interaction with the member of Wolkhaisong that's from his family. Idk why they changed it when it gave such an interesting insight to his character that wasn't related to Baam.
@@someromaboo Don't even get me started on the Blueberry scene... In the webtoon it sets up a long arc for Khun's growth and initial direction in which he develops his abilities and they cut that part out completely for literally no reason and replaced it with a bullshit Maria talk.
@@Eperogenay Like yeah we get it you're trying to make a contrast with Rache but one it doesn't make any sense and second you're butchering ma boi's character growth. And let's not even talk about how in the webtoon it showed in a few pannel the abysmal gap between a regularand a powerful ranker
What would you have cut instead to stay within the 13 episodes available? Most of what they cut really amount to a series of MacGuffins that don't NEED to be explained before hand. Stuff like explaining Bangs, Myun, and Soo is just a waste of screen time when you can just show jaws dropping at the insane levels of shinsu that Baam can throw around, and commenting how it's so amazing he can control so many at once.
The thing that got me the most was when each of our favorite characters individually pledged to "carry Rachel up the tower" because "that's what Bam would have wanted", while the we the audience just have to sit there cringing, knowing they are helping Bam's "murderer" for "Bam's sake".
Webtoon Cut content [No spoilers] "How does it feel to be the Heroine of the story?" Hwa Ryun, the red haired girl asked. "I'm... Just a bit tired." Rachel replied. She cared for Bam, while she also hated him. She wanted to replace Bam who was the star. In webtoon, she was much more cruel. Barista boy said that he would take away everything Bam had. He also said that 'Jahad Family' would think that Bam died. For unknown reason, he wanted the public to think Bam died. "Why...Are you going such lengths to see the stars?" "I am... Afraid of the night[Yoru]" Interpret that line, as you want. The red haired girl left after hearing that. She continued, "Well, It's time to meet the Night[Yoru] which lost its star." She headed towards Bam. These lines added some spice to Rachel's character. Just like when Bam and Endorsi talked. The conversations between them changed her character a LOT.[In season 2] Lero told Quant to not follow him, but Quant did. Lero is NOT climbing the tower. You saw, how broken the rankers were compared to Regulars. Lero said that he is going to Wolhaikson's floor, Aka 77th floor, the same floor Yuri asked Bam to come. And the thing that they changed the most is... Bam was broken both inside and out. That gave me goosebumps. He was bloody and his voice was cracking. I heard it even though there was no sound. He did not give any cliche shounen speech. "I... I don't know what this feeling inside my heart is..." And Hwa ryun didn't say s*it about training. "Follow me, I'll tell you. Let's go up, As promised, what 'he' wanted, what we all wanted, Is waiting up there." The visuals were beautiful. You could hear the word, "Welcome to the Tower of God" And a side note, The characters weren't super emotional. They were sad, but Anaak crying makes NO sense. Anaak and Bam did not have a single interaction or bond. Over all, I liked the Rachel part of the episode, but the cut content played a big role later on.
Hey so, I'm here to ask a question of what happened in the webtoon that didn't happen in he anime according to memory, wasn't anaak supposed to die in season 1?
I would like it if rachel does care for bam genuinely but I have a very hard time believing that, she's been very manipulative to bam since the very start when they were in the cave, she kept bam there and never let him out and she lied to him about it saying she is chosen while bam isn't. Because of what she said it implanted the thought to bam that she's some sort of angel coming down to save him even if he is 'unchosen'. It's like she's raising bam into devoting to her, she even taught bam not to betray anyone especially girls so she's basically telling bam not to betray her ever, and if someone fought her bam should protect her, who knows what else shady things she taught him? Bam was also very naive, rachel should've taught bam how to deal with betrayal and be careful with people but I guess she wanted to keep bam manipulable for her own benefit. It would make sense since (((Spoiler: she knew from the start who bam really is and his potential )))) so I won't be surprised she was jealous of him from the very start so she kept him in that cave. I also think maybe she tried to enter the tower before but didn't work so she brought bam to make him chase her to get him to open the gates for her but didn't expect him to enter too. And when she pushed bam she didn't even look sorry, she was fine, I guess she hated him that much she didn't even care. And in the anime she said 'I wished for someone to kill bam', like what?! She can't kill him not because she cares about him but because she's afraid of killing someone, in the future she displays the same behavior of being afraid of killing with her own hands yet wasn't disturbed at all by the fact that she lured a lot of people to get devoured. Her twisted mentality of as long as she's not killing directly she didn't do anything wrong.
Well, I don’t think they will include any of the Hell Train arc in season two, it’s just too long to fit in. I think it will just be until the end of the Archimedes competition thing.
I really like how they ended this season. I agree with how heart wrenching Rak's cries were. Being a webtoon reader, I even teared up a little bit, the voice actor nailed it. Rachel is one of those love to hate characters. While many other characters are super powerful, I feel Rachel represents your average human (besides Shibisu and Serena of course). I can't help but wonder how I would react if I was put in Rachel's position, watching someone else get everything I ever dreamed of. That's probably why I don't hate her as much as others, but she is still a horrible person. That ending person with the ponytail, are you sure it's Bam? XD Are you absolutely positively sure its Bam? XD
I'm sure that's Shibisu. Bam's death fueled into becoming stronger and growing some hair! Finally the dude is putting some giving those killing arts an use!
Alisher Nomali I would definitely not call her below average. It takes a certain type of cleverness to be able to manipulate people like Rachel does. She too can be maneuvered by the big players (season 2) but total moron? Nah
Everyone hates rachel but she is the most human like character in Tower of God. She is this below average human is all aspects and has dreams that are impossible to reach unless she becomes someone else. She is unlucky and lucky at the same time. She is just like the billions of other humans that have no power but she is very very lucky to have the chance to become powerful in a tower that is meant for special people.
@@Ellaminnowpea432 Yeah, from what I understand SIU is taking some time to recover and get healthy again. So sending prays and well wishes for a speedy recovery. Until then we will just have to sustain ourselves on watching anime only's experiencing Rachel hate for the first time.
I don't hate Rachel. In fact, I find her relatable and think that she's at this point the most fleshed out and believable character and also absolutely underrated regarding her role despite being utterly mediocre at best and akin to a piece of turd regarding her personality...
I'm current with the webtoon, and I don't have many friends that read tog, and those that do are caught up. So listening to someone rant about it all from the beginning, is so entertaining for me. Can't wait for season 2 and for your reaction to it hehehehehe. Thanks for the great video!
Lol yeah but rachel is kind of like his mom since she taught him almost everything he knew, took care of him, and even fed him. And rachel is also the only person he's with that time, he's kind of stuck with rachel and had to rely on her, he also had to wait helplessly everytime for rachel to come to his cave, poor bam, he must be so happy to get a lot of friends now, but he got separated from them and they all think he's dead so he's all alone again....
I hate that I can see a lot of Rachel in me. Wanting everything to fall into your lap without having to do a thing to earn it. At least I know how unreasonable that is.
Ok, next on the agenda, Make a best friend. Stop caring about your best friend. Run away so that your friend develops as a character and makes new friends. Push your "best friend" off a cliff,
The red girl is Hwa Ryun, she's probably one of the most integral characters to the story and she comes from a tribe called the Red Witches, famous for being guides (much like Evan and the Silver Dwarves)
Rachel is the underdog protagonist of this story and people are supposed to relate to her but bam is the badass heroic protagonist you are supposed to root for. This is story about Rachel and bam, Rachel is protagonist with negative character arc and bam with positive character arc. Rachel is compareble to Griffiths from berserk so much that it makes question why so much people love Griffiths but hate Rachel? Well I know the reasons lmao
Khun x Bam ship should be canon at this point. Even at the start it’s so obvious they are much closer & have more chemistry than everyone else. This pair is perfect, and no one is going to stop me from loving them. Favorite line in the whole series is when Khun said to Rachel that he wish he met Bam first.
I'm going to be honest, the Anime made me hate Rachel more than I did when I read the Webtoon. They really added onto her character for season 1of the anime as opposed to season 1 of the Webtoon. She actually does stuff in the anime and actually talks to Bam in the show whereas in the Webtoon she was just... there. Having read the webtoon 4 times, she literally did nothing but sit there and really only talked to bam during the final test. It's great they fleshed this out since in all honesty, she is one of the more well written characters in the webtoon even if she does nothing
I assume when most people say they "like" Rachel, they mean they like her as a character. As a person she's undeniably trash. I mean, I'm sure some people actually do like her as a person but surely that can't be the norm right?
The most impactful scene in this episode for me was the scene where bams hands were glowing and he was taking to Rachel about it and knowing she just didn't see it at all was a really special moment
You’re not gonna know why Rachel looked after Bam all this time and who Bam is to the king and the tower till towards where we are in the manga now. Which is 400+ chapters. Let’s just say it’s about Ressurection, Immortality, FUG, Slayer Candidates, Viole Grace, Great families, Thorn.
I think what endears some people to Rachael is the fact that she is powerless and has to be that manipulator, has to rely on her cunning in order to proceed. And the fact that she, at multiple times, tried to get Baam to leave her or run away from the trials so she wouldn't have to do what she did, kind of shows there is some part of her that is still good. I hate her for what she did, but at the same time I understand why.
Agreed, Rachel is a creature of conflict, and she always doubts herself. The thing is, every time there is a choice, one that really matters, she makes the wrong choice. And even after the fact, she doubts. She is weak. The difference between a character with those traits that we adore and one that we hate is just that. When it comes down to it, she will always choose herself.
I’m glad that Bam’s goal and motivation isn’t just Rachel anymore. Very excited to see more of Hwa Ryun (red haired girl) if season 2 eventually comes around. I’ve heard a lot of good things about her and how she’s best girl.
I mean, it still kinda is, it's just that at this point, it's a "I need to find answers for what the hell is going on here/with Rachel," instead of a "I wanna be with Rachel!!1!"
With season 2 now airing, I rewatched season 1 and along with it the discussion videos. It’s been a blast, thank you JoJo. I cherish these videos. Looked forward to them every week. 😊
You will understand the plan Of barista boy in either season 3 or 4 of the anime. Also understand the emotional ark of Endorsi was damaged during these last two episodes, that’s probably why people are so aggressively asking you to read the webtoon.
I still can't hear Headon's name without replying with "Apply directly to the forehead." ^^ Oh BTW, KhuBam Is Life (My old comment got ghosted, I think 'cause of the hashtag)
Barista boy as you call him is one of the weird favorites of the series for me. He has a surprisingly strong presence in the story beyond the first season. Enjoy the series and lero ro is a top boy.
Rachel was the same in the manhwa but the anime brings in more emotion and context to why Rachel is what she is. The jealousy the seeps within every fragment of her is so bad. I have to give credit to SIU because he made Rachel a great antagonist/female protagonist. This is what the story needed to propel it to season 2 and set the tone for the following seasons. I don't hate Rachel as a character, I actually like her as a character and what she brings. But I GOD DAMN LOVE TO HATE HER BECAUSE OF WHAT SHE DID TO MA BOI!!! But still it's fine since it's for a story Read webtoon to know more
No spoilers. In the original webtoon, bam was left down there, completely conscious and bloody for AGES, for the entire time between the ending of the test to when they left for the next floor. He just lay there bloody, left to his own thoughts. And then hwaryun came, she asked him how he felt, and he clutched his chest, crawling towards her, saying “I don’t know.... I don’t know what this feeling in my chest is.... I DONT KNOW... WHY RACHEL.... BETRAYED.... ME....!” And at the end, hwaryun is shown kneeling down with bam, and it shows a bloody giant mother fish. It’s insinuated that either hwaryun killed the fish on her way down, or bam was attacked by it and killed it while he was sinking down, or laying down there, showing his true strength.
Yea the red head and coffee guy are working together, but they used Rachel to get what they wanted. Their goal was never to help her. Also, lero ro didn’t get fired, he quit and then in turn he made quant follow him.
spoilers but not main story just for the irregulars Urek_Mazino. It took Urek only 50 years to pass every test and climb all the way up to the top of the Tower.[1] He is recorded as the fastest person to climb the Inner Tower through an orthodox method and it would probably be accurate to say he scaled the Tower faster than Zahard himself. During his climb, Urek took Arie Hon's special test on the 100th Floor;[7] the task was for Urek to endure his attacks for 10 minutes, but Urek fought evenly and passed Arie Hon's special test causing him to become the most famous Ranker in the Tower as a result.[7] After becoming a Ranker, Urek used his reward from the test and took control of the 77th Floor; he then transferred the control again to Baek Ryun, who set up the stronghold of the Wolhaiksong there. Phantaminum appeared suddenly in the Tower and broke into the Zahard's inner palace, killing many royals and courtiers, all of whom were high-level Rankers. He succeeded in breaking all of the lines of defense and ultimately faced Zahard but he disappeared without a fight.[4] When Phantaminum broke into the palace, it is said he met Ha Yuri Zahard in the inner palace. There is a great diversity of opinion as to why he didn't kill her. Yuri Zahard didn't say anything about the matter except that, "He was a dirty one" (더러운 놈, "scumbag").[4] Origin of the Sobriquet His mysterious appearance and disappearance from The Tower left many unanswered questions, which is how he got the sobriquet, "Riddle".[4] Another reason is his combat style. It is said that he had a freewheeling and desultory combat style and had used a weapon that had not been seen anywhere inside the Tower. Most of the eye-witnesses either died or lost their minds with fear, so the stories were not accurately reported.[4] Put simply, Phantaminum is a monster whose information starts and ends with a riddle. Enryu is one of the most mysterious characters in the Tower, almost as mysterious as Phantaminum. Currently, Enryu's whereabouts are unknown and no-one knows what he is doing.[1] Enryu opening gate Enryu entering the Tower Enryu entered the Tower during Zahard's rule. His most interesting achievement, the slaying of the Guardian of the 43rd Floor revealed to the people of the Tower that Guardians, originally thought to be immortal, were not absolute beings.[1] While initially it was unknown why Enryu killed the 43rd Floor Guardian, it was later revealed that he entered the 43rd Floor believing that Zahard had desecrated the Floor that was once Arlen Grace's land. Warning that those who followed the "fake king" would be destroyed, Enryu proceeded to annihilate Zahard's fanatics, slaying the enraged Guardian of the Floor and utterly laying waste to the Floor's landscapes.[5] A huge thorn was left behind at the site where the Guardian died, as Enryu's purpose was to deliver the thorn that would cut the king's throat. Before this feat, Zahard was #1 in Ranking by then, although his inactivity led to him being pushed down to a 2nd place by Enryu, who took over the 1st place at the time because of this. Enryu became the No. 1 Ranker with the nickname of "Guardian Murderer".[1] Later on, Phantaminum entered the Tower. With the Zahard Palace Intrusion Incident, Phantaminum quickly took 1st place, pushing Enryu and Zahard down to 2nd and 3rd places,
I just want to say I called it. One of my earlier posts on your channel I said she never cared about him and that she would betray him again. Damn I hate her. I do really like this episode though and Bam is going to be trained by that woman and meet up obviously years later (based on his hair length). That's fantastic as the rest of the crew is climbing the tower for her Rachel's sake. I think it will provide a great dynamic. I can't wait for season 2.
Yea honestly. But I love how it's portrayed later, because it feels like Rachel becomes and actively DECIDES to become all of the things that Bam pushes away from him and that he doesn't want to do or become.
Lowkey, SERENA IS BEST GIRL. I think she was like Rachel in a some ways but in the end made the right choices because she had the better mentality than Rachel. Where Rachel made herself the victim in all cases and so believed the tower was the only way of achieving her dreams instead of looking for what SHE could do, Serena eventually realised that like her friends were doing in her last test, she had the power to change her destiny which ultimately gave her the strength to leave the tower after realising and accepting that she wasn't going to be able to kill those she cared about to climb the tower(sound familiar?). She didn't let the fact that her friends were more capable than she was get to her make her jealous and eventually hateful towards them, but she admired them for it and was willing to change herself to become like them. And reach her dream of being able to be proud of her life. There are more but I forget😅 But long story short even though she was probably made to be a Rachel that did it right and in doing so she avoided all the betrayal that would have come otherwise. Serena is best girl
hadon and the King want Bam Dead because he was called by the Tower. He isnt actualy an irregular, those are people who enter the Tower by there own power to climb it. Bam didn/t enter to climb the Tower and he didnt even know he had any power before he entered. Thats also why some of the Administrators help him. They hope he will become the new King.
In terms of the overall plan, something good to think about from the episode is the line "All the princesses of Jahad believe Bam is dead". With talking about Bam as a chess piece, what then is the benefit of people thinking he's dead? 🤔
The chess comparison is more apt than you think... trying not to spoil too much but there is a special thing only pawns can do, once they reach the other side...
I definitely want a season 2 but it would take an insane commitment. The story will really begin in season 2. They could stop now or they need to be prepared to do like 6 more seasons because once u open the next box, there’s no stopping it.
i implore you, read the webtoon season 2 start at episode 79. it is a very fascinating season, we learn more about Bam and why he has a ponytail in that last shot.
That's one of the best parts of the anime adaptation for me. They almost made me sympathise with Rachel before that was destroyed. Which makes the betrayal more impactful.
I believe it said earlier in the series that certain “irregulars” caused trouble in the tower before... perhaps bam was meant to die - if Rachel didn’t “kill” bam, perhaps someone who actually could’ve killed him would? But that would also raise the question why bam needs to feign death and of what use Is he to the people like headon, red head girl or hansung yu ? It would seem that the only people who would want bam dead from a political stand point would be the kings faction due to bams identity as an irregular, therefore he has the potential to become one of the strongest. Does this mean that hansung yu and headon had good intentions? Is bam meant to be used as a tool to rebel against the king in somehow... I have read the WEBTOON btw but I thought these may be some of the questions brought up by this episode.
If you liked season one you are going to Love season two. I wish they could have it come out in Augus, they did Fugde some things from the end of season one of the webtoon. The last shot was a bit of Grace that the webtoon did not bless us with. This is a really Sweet and Sour story. Usually I am just a Lurker, the webtoon really fleshes out the Anime.

NICE! When Khun said "I wish he met me first"! I was like: BOOOY, let JoJo listen to that, he will love it!
The mouse: BAM
The cheese: Rachel
The tools: Yuri Jahad, Bam's friends.
All this hate for Rachael is a lack of understanding of what is really going on around Rachael and BAM and who is really being mercilessly manipulated into making critical decisions.

they cut out Rachel's iconic line from the webtoon: I'M AFRAID OF THE NIGHT.
Oh yeah! Dang it why did they have to cut that!

Bam turned from a desperate boi in the webtoon to a accepting and vengeful(?) boy that is ready to climb the tower. Kinda different
"Everything you seek is up there, at the top of the tower, so you just have to climb"
On a serious note, everything should be answered in season 2.

His adamant "I won't read the webtoon" claims just make me sad that he got to experience an inferior, changed and cut down version of the story...
Webtoon Cut content [No spoilers]
"How does it feel to be the Heroine of the story?" Hwa Ryun, the red haired girl asked.
"Why...Are you going such lengths to see the stars?"
"I am... Afraid of the night[Yoru]" Interpret that line, as you want. The red haired girl left after hearing that. She continued,
"Well, It's time to meet the Night[Yoru] which lost its star." She headed towards Bam. These lines added some spice to Rachel's character. Just like when Bam and Endorsi talked. The conversations between them changed her character a LOT.[In season 2]
Lero told Quant to not follow him, but Quant did.
"I... I don't know what this feeling inside my heart is..."
And Hwa ryun didn't say s*it about training. "Follow me, I'll tell you. Let's go up, As promised, what 'he' wanted, what we all wanted, Is waiting up there." The visuals were beautiful. You could hear the word, "Welcome to the Tower of God"
And a side note, The characters weren't super emotional. They were sad, but Anaak crying makes NO sense. Anaak and Bam did not have a single interaction or bond.
Over all, I liked the Rachel part of the episode, but the cut content played a big role later on.

Let’s just say it’s about Ressurection, Immortality, FUG, Slayer Candidates, Viole Grace, Great families, Thorn.
All I'm gonna say to hype up season 2 is this word. Grace

But still it's fine since it's for a story
Read webtoon to know more
No spoilers.
ME....!”
And at the end, hwaryun is shown kneeling down with bam, and it shows a bloody giant mother fish.
It’s insinuated that either hwaryun killed the fish on her way down, or bam was attacked by it and killed it while he was sinking down, or laying down there, showing his true strength.
They cut out one of the best line in the series "I'm afraid of the Night" Bam means Night/Chestnut
Heya, what is your pfp from? That character looks really pretty.

@@kohakusstrongestsoldier8316 Thanks. :)
Yea the red head and coffee guy are working together, but they used Rachel to get what they wanted. Their goal was never to help her. Also, lero ro didn’t get fired, he quit and then in turn he made quant follow him.
Lero ro and quant’s adventures in the tower are ICONIC and I cannot wait
spoilers but not main story just for the irregulars
Urek_Mazino.
Yuri Zahard didn't say anything about the matter except that, "He was a dirty one" (더러운 놈, "scumbag").[4]
Origin of the Sobriquet
His mysterious appearance and disappearance from The Tower left many unanswered questions, which is how he got the sobriquet, "Riddle".[4] Another reason is his combat style.
Currently, Enryu's whereabouts are unknown and no-one knows what he is doing.[1]
Enryu opening gate
Enryu entering the Tower
Enryu entered the Tower during Zahard's rule.
Did someone said "KuhnxBam"?
I'm in.
I legit love Rachel's character it's sooo good lol
Rachel gets progressively worse as the story goes on, not in how she's written, but in what she does.
Yea honestly. But I love how it's portrayed later, because it feels like Rachel becomes and actively DECIDES to become all of the things that Bam pushes away from him and that he doesn't want to do or become.
Rachael cannot see Bam as a person or even an adult. Though she cared for Bam in the beginning he is just Bam to her.
Your duckling reference is on point 👏
There are more but I forget😅
But long story short even though she was probably made to be a Rachel that did it right and in doing so she avoided all the betrayal that would have come otherwise.
Serena is best girl
I cant wait for a Rak scene in season 2. The "I wont forgive" scene.
hadon and the King want Bam Dead because he was called by the Tower. He isnt actualy an irregular, those are people who enter the Tower by there own power to climb it. Bam didn/t enter to climb the Tower and he didnt even know he had any power before he entered. Thats also why some of the Administrators help him. They hope he will become the new King.
red hair girl isnt a princess btw, shes a navigator (or guide in the webtoon) as evan stated last episode
Imma really make some loud painful animal noises if they don’t make a season 2!
THAT`S BAAM, BUT HIS NAME NOW IS JYU VIOLE GRACE, SLAYER OF FUG BROOOOOOOOOO
"Rak... comedic foil, this sort of *rock*"
hehehe
accidental foreshadowing there
i implore you, read the webtoon season 2 start at episode 79. it is a very fascinating season, we learn more about Bam and why he has a ponytail in that last shot.
Raks screaming really hurt bro
Hell yeah i am so hyped for season 2
And of course for jojos talks to much about tog season 2
Hwa Ryun is not a princess but a guide.
The only princess youve met is endorsi, unless you count anaak
It was never suggested the red headed girl was a princess
Yuri....
@@sonshoshita3613oh duh lol, i was just responding to him calling the red haired girl a princess
Rachel aka THE ULTIMATE KAREN, I think we'll probably get a seasson 2 next year!
I have a really nice friend named Karen, so I have just decided to replace the term entirely and refer to them as "Rachel"
@@cz1822 Works better, Rachel is the new Karen!
The red headed girl is Karen in the anime
Won’t going to detail but besides a very few small instances this is the last time Rachel gets what she wants for quite a while.
7:53 Well, all other pieces. ;-) A knight, a bishop, a rook, a queen, etc. :-p
Best thing is that season 2 has over 300 chapters so they can atleast split it into 2 different seasons for anime :D
Someone needs to tell anime-onlys that rankers have already climbed the tower.
