How pleasing, entertaining, to watch Men moving athletically to spoken words, and a beat. In squad group form, They also group shout. Body Storytelling. Movement!!
Can't tell you where to find the translation for the mele but the story it tells is about Pele and the places she visits (Pele currently lives in the Kilauea volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii.)
It really depends on the phone they are using/camera to film. Its not perfect but the dances are very, very good. Different phones also record videos with different degree of clarity. This one is HD dancing, its from my channel, have a look. ua-cam.com/video/c_00I8V9rLE/v-deo.html
Judging by the year it was probably originally taped on VHS from a live broadcast. You lose clarity as screen resolutions get better and better. And changing media types can degrade the picture quality as well.
It comes from Asian/Pacific Islanders Ancient Cultural Heritage. Those are not diapers, they are real men with fitness trainer bodies, and women dancing Hula, wears them too. The design for men and design for women are different. These are one of the many costumes/traditional clothings of Asian/Pacific Islander/Polynesians. One might wonder why French ballet dancing men wear such tight tights that you can see the groin parts. For this dance, those gentlemen are wearing costumes that always discreetly covers between their legs, or they might wear Loin cloth, it always covers appropriately. Please be respectful toward our Ancient Heritage, thank you, and Mahalo Nui Loa, shalom.
