I've been watching for like 5 years and I'm so glad you went into doing random car shit instead of just moto vloggs. Makes it sometime new to watch.
“I paid way too much money for this car.” I said the same thing to my father who bought a ‘67 Firebird from the same place. Guy told us “it’s the best paint job” he had ever seen. I’m no painter, but rattle can quantities of orange peel and literal runs in the paint don’t seem quality to me.
I'm starting a service where I go with anyone in the United States to look at cars. Owned a body shop for 8 years, done custom fab and built hot rods for around 12. I'll go with anyone, check to see if it's a respray, how good the paint is, check for bondo, check suspension, bushings, etc. For the small price of 2 taco bell chicken quesadillas, a case of Dr pepper, being allowed to do the first burnout in said car and a years subscription to Dan's onlyfans. Since we aren't friends and I don't personally give a fuck if you own a cool car or not I'll give you my honest opinion and a quote of any repairs needed. Also take payment in reach arounds, chili's alfredo, a xbox series x or ps5, 90s shit box nissans that don't run or LS turbo parts.

Since you dont wanna go too crazy with it, put subframe connectors on it will stiffen the car up significantly and theyre like 200 bucks, weld in or bolt in.

It seems like with the 73, you are after something along the lines of Mike Finnigan's El Camino. just a super simple, super clean car thats a blast on the back roads but you can pull up to any car show pop the hood and people will be drooling over it
As far as a cage goes the best advice I can give you is unless you have to have it avoid it. Those cars are pretty tight already and adding a cage takes way more room than you’d expect. If youre shooting for comfort avoid caging it.
Fix it turn ups the amps and make sure the disconnect is inside and have a fake disconnect outside so they die

A guy I used to work with was a wire thief in Texas back in the early 2000’s. He told me stories of him and a crew scouting large buildings with lots of power running through. He said a crew of 5 people could break in, cut the power and pull all of the large gauge wire out in about 40 minutes. They would bring a large enclosed car hauler and fill it and run. They would wait about a month and turn it in after stripping it all down to bare wire, this was around the time copper was going through the roof as far as scrap prices go. Sure looks like that was the plan at your shop. One of their best hauls was a large welding shop that had 30+ welding stations. Those assholes not only took all the wire in the walls but they also took all the ground straps off the welders and every power tool in there. I should also mention they were all meth heads so that sort of explains it... doesn’t justify it in any way but meth heads so stupid shit. Those people might be back.

I can't even begin to explain how dangerous removing wires like that is. They had to have bolt cutters for that AWG of wire. All those LBs will have to be redone and new wires pulled and tested. Basically not very cheap fix for a few bucks of copper wire.
