  • If you have a vacuum breaker crimped to your outdoor faucet, its hard to get rid of it. If it starts leaking on the side, then there is a easy fix you should try before calling your plumber.
    In my case it was a 30 cent O-Ring that did the trick. Hope this helps.

    Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I could not find these O-rings locally, so thank you very much for letting me know where to get them. Now I can finally use my outdoor faucet. I sprayed the faucet with dry silicone spray the day before the rings arrived from Amazon and it works perfectly now. Awesome video!

    I have the same vacuum breaker with the same leaking issue. I ordered the o-rings and replaced the top and bottom o-ring and now it works like new(mine is about 20 years old). Glad I found this video before sawing off the breaker(the set screw would not come out). Thanks for the video!!!

      I only see one O-ring in the video. Where is the second O-ring located? Mine is leaking out of the top of the spigot.

      @yeabsirafamily930 The part number I ordered is AZ-N70026/100. It's the 026 o-ring nitrile (nbr buna) 70 durometer black. Hope this helps.

    The dog. 🤣🤣
    New house, new hoses with non-worn washers, and the damn connection still leaks. I’ve tried several connections: hose to spigot, timer to spigot, shut-off to spigot. I even used plumber’s tape and that didn’t work. It’s so damn frustrating. It shouldn’t be this difficult to get a connection that won’t leak.

      shouldn't your new house come with some sort of warranty for these fixes?

      I only used the rear spigot for the first time yesterday. Anyway, I just figured out what the issue was. The spigot had a vacuum breaker attached and nothing would attach securely enough to prevent a leak at the connection. I loosened the set screw and removed the vacuum breaker attachment and replaced it with my sprinkler timer and there are no leaks at the connection.

    Great video and love the black Lab. Do you have a link where you got the o-rings? I can’t find them anywhere based on the info on the package - thanks!

    I have this female connector that has a rubber seal (complete seal) inside ... If I use a pointer to press it... It doesn't press. As if water can't pass. What's that?

    didnt work for me; i have exactly the same vacuum breaker with the black plastic piece. putting in the new washer, it does not set like the original washer because the original washer is still there. your video shows the original washer and it looks like you set the new washer under it but there is no slot so it can fit under the original washer so when you push down the black piece it just pushes the new washer down. unfortunately cost me $20. word of warning, just cut off the vacuum breaker with a dremel

    • @rmanni
      @rmanni  4 місяці тому

      You need to remove the original washer and add the new washer. The new washer will sit in the groove. You need to oil it a bit, so the breaker can easily slide on top of the washer.

    Oil doesn’t dry.

    • @mrrame

      Just a dab of kitchen oil, so it can slide over the washer. You will be fine next day
