RIP to the 14 year old boy that dropped to his death. His last moments must have been truly terrifying.

Vanessa that's what brought me here ... trying to get a better look at the seats .
The bottom of the seat does not look that strong at least not strong enough to hold somebody who weighs 350 like the young man who died .... and someone said that ride has a limit of 300 lb for each seat .
Wondering if his whole seat detached , or was it the brace that holds him in that broke away and then he slipped out ... or did the bottom of his seat break off ?
I'm trying to figure it out , but can't.

@@gardensofthegods the boy was 6' 5 . It had to be the shoulder lock.There are photos and it definitely wasn't locked down all the way.He had to have been to tall and big for that ride. May he R.i.p

Yeah a lot of other people are saying it was the shoulder harness wasn't closed all the way or wasn't properly working .
It will be interesting to see what happens with this when it becomes a lawsuit .

@@gardensofthegods yeah, that's what I've been wondering too. I'm a thrill seeker and love rides, got second thoughts now. I'm in UK. A new ride at Alton Towers several years ago malfunctioned and many young people lost limbs. Lives ruined. Its not worth it. Yes, RIP that poor lad, his family and friends will be distraught.

No one would even think about falling from a 430 foot drop ride. I wouldn't even consider going on a ride such high.
He didn't fall from the top. He fell right before the ride was getting ready to slow down after the drop. The ride was about 60 feet in the air when he slipped.

It amazes me why this ride doesnt have a extra belt attached to the seat and the harness..... a lot of rides has it but this ride that TILTS FORWARD doesnt have it? wow lol
they prolly will now if they want the ride to be open again

Knowing the technical bit of it, this extra belts are normally just for your «comfort» it should normally be impossible for a restraint system to failure. Fail safe systems, somehow this accident that took place has to be human error. If not… well.. thats a scary thought…
They will have to add sent belt restraints now I bet...close it down till investigated, I'm sure!

I never saw the actual ride actually tilt forward tho? Everyone says it tits forward but i never saw the seats move forward
RIP young kid. Not sure if he slipped out or if the restraint failed. I did notice that there doesn't appear to be a mechanical backup latch (like a seatbelt that clicks the restraint into the seat). One would think that would be smart when tilting someone forward at 30 degrees and putting their body and the restraint in unusual position. Very sad!

Anyone else who has seen the recent video of the young man who had his life tragically taken by this ride. I just can’t imagine the fear in his mind knowing he wasn’t held in all the way. I mean can you imagine falling that fast and that high up coming down and you start slipping and slowly coming out of your seat. I just can’t imagine the fear he had before his last moments…

I agree but sadly I think he passed out on way down so he wasn’t holding on tight anymore when he fell out and he never made a sound the entire fall. :(

He survived initial but died later at the hospital. Very sad.

Now all they need is the tallest coaster. I think they could do it. Elevator lift, steepest drop, fastest maybe, and tallest inversion (just a big ole loop) a hill and into the brakes.

The world's tallest roller coaster was already previously proposed for I-Drive by the guy who owns Mangos, but he couldn't pull it off. Icon Park wouldn't be able to do it unless it were a similarly compact design.
This had my hands sweating just watching it. This is way more terrifying than any roller coaster I've been on. I've skydived once, too. Something about drop towers gives me unrelenting anxiety. I guess I'll have to try this one though cause momma ain't raise no bitch.

Leyzer.... a fourteen-year-old just died on this ride ... it's really sad because his friends who were there said he was complaining that something didn't feel right and that it was shaking and he even said if I don't make it tell my parents I love them .
He was big six-foot-five 350lbs yet people are saying you're not supposed to weigh more than 300 lb on that ride .
As one of the people that ride drop towers every single one I know has the extra buckle I'm surprised this one don't have it being one of the tallest

@@gardensofthegods There is, it's called a strip of fabric with a latch. The people responsible for designing/operating this ride without a backup safety belt should be sued out of existence for allowing this to happen.

I dont know what it is, but i would be more inclined to do this over the starflyer.
Had the opportunity to do that in early 2020 but chickened out. Dont know if its the fact you're continuously moving until the drop, but it certainly seems quite thrilling!

Watching this after the accident of the poor 14-year old (RIP), trying to make sense of it all. I am thinking if the harness wasn't secured well, during the drop gravity could have likely kept him in place, but not sure how an unsecured harness would have kept him strapped in during the initial steep tilt at the top? I understand being bounced off at the end of the drop with the tilt. Perhaps the harness loosened afterward with the speed?
That could be it. Ive been trying to figure this out too, but I saw it was when the ride started to brake, was enough force to eject Tyre out of the seat, imagine bungee jumping, its almost like it, when the bungee cord hits that brake point where it bounces you back up, same with that free fall ride, when it brakes is when it ejected Tyre from the seat. smh Tragedy to say the least.

I ride this twice on two different days!!! The first time me and my fiancé and two kids rode, and we were done for the day!!!!!! My chest and heart pounding. Then the second time wasn’t as bad as the first time. But the second time I came back I rode alone and it wasn’t as bad I feel like the drop tower could fall I think that’s a fear we all have but I did it

It amazes me that it doesn’t have an extra seatbelt! The scream at fiesta Texas does.
The ride company advocated not to install seatbelts, because the harness and locking mechanism is sufficient. A Florida news station reported this, I found the video on UA-cam.
I'm wondering who has the final decision on whether seatbelts should be installed on rides. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida has minimal regulations on amusement park rides.
@@becauseisaidso4817 the manufacturer are German and they follows Germany standards. Also important to mention that the person is oversize and overweight according to the operating manual. This is purely the ride operator's fault, the instruction is clear to deny such person a ride.
@@bltzcstrnx I don't care about the ride manufacturers being German. I saw the report (actual paper) stating seatbelts are not needed it was on the local news. I'm trying to figure out what agency in FL questions these recommendations suggested by the manufacturers. At this point, that's what I want to know.

Many of the biggest and fastest rides in the world lack the seatbelt, and yet they still have flawless safety records. The shoulder harness is typically a 100% safe restraint, provided the employees are always complying with the standards set by the manufacturer.
You couldn't pay me to ride this thing. Too high, too unpredictable. RIP, Tyre Sampson. 🙁
Not unpredictable at all. Drop towers are extraordinarily safe. Tyre's seat had been altered beforehand.

I got vertigo just from watching the video!! Omg.
You can see at the angle the ride is falling, even he is sliding forward. Now imagine being double that size and not properly secured in the seat😢🤯 The whole thing could’ve been avoided had the workers actually cared enough to not let him on or the engineers designed more safety harnesses for each seat. Why can’t there be a safety net at the floor? Why does it always have to be concrete!?? Don’t they consider the possibilities of an accident??🤬😒

they need to redo the seats to have it like the Hulk coaster at Universal with the shoulder restraints and a seat belt type thing that comes from the seat and buckles in under the harness as extra protection. I have been on this ride (2 times) and was not checked 1 of the times.
I like that the hulk has the seat samples outside too so you can test yourself if they close properly.
Place needs to be shut down permanently. Stop hiring 13 year old kids to be in charge of peoples safety. It’s not a game, it’s a serious job.

Can someone clarify... the news is saying this ride tilts you forward 30 degrees before the drop but I don't see any tilt in this video?

I rode this, made my ears pop, but it was fun. I've ridden plenty of drop tower type rides but this one was the best, never felt like I was slipping from my seat or under the restraints. Such a shame that negligence inadvertently got a kid killed and now it's being removed.

Notice how when the ride drops and you look at the smaller view of his lap, towards the end of the drop before it brakes look how his body in the crotch area moves forward towards the bump where seat belts usually are and then once the ride stops his body tilted back into original position. You know the 14 year old that passed didnt stand a chance when his body did that and he slid right through when the rode began to brake

The fact that this attraction doesn't have a seat belt,is the equivalent of a skydiver not having a parachute. The kid that perished on this ride a few days ago,had no chance.
