Rome was quite vulnerable during this interview. This demonstrates emotional maturity. Jess and Rome are beautiful examples of healthy co-parenting. They both are emotionally mature, which makes this possible. Well done.
I thought somebody fucked Country Wayne’s Hairline over until I looked at the views I said this couldn’t be 😅
Agree! This is great to see as a human
Im engaged now but this hits home hard, especially being former air force, Ive made some dumb choices bc I didnt want to be alone sometimes. I appreciate him admitting he cant handle being alone! People dont admit this especially men. Salute to Rome showing vulnerability, need more OGs to do this. Nothing wrong telling a bro "Im a little down can I crash at your place?". That's what friends are for.
Shut up yo . She should bring the new baby daddy up there smh
Can also sense it’s something still there. I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up back together later down the line.
Powerful interview! I'm a clinical therapist specializing in trauma, and I must say, you have already started your healing process. God ahead and move forward. Praying you will see it through.
When Jess said to envy “don’t talk about no house”. The quickest knockout I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂
I wasn’t expecting this… this is beautiful and sad at the same time…seeing this Black man be so vulnerable on the Breakfast Club.
Girl he running game🙄
They not together and he still running game on her
Yess ❤
@@TSM-tv8hyI can't stand my bd ( he can really kiss my whole family ass) and im pretty sure he can't stand me either but when u are mature enough and live long enough..... U'll understand that not everybody " men"are bad or running game. It actually is some good men out here. And one day, eventually u ( not saying u personally) but u can have a adult conversation.
Jess said my baby was sitting on the floor on a blanket and the cat was looking at him like he wanted to eat him 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂 yea that was funny!!
😂😂
Yo when she said that I died. I believe her too!
@@love-pk5mqI believe her too. 😅…u kno men like to keep some stuff out & be a lil funny.😄
😅😅
I finally understand the nature of Jess’ and Rome’s relationship. Jess looks out for Rome because she knows that he doesn't really have anyone else. Since they‘re not romantically involved and aren't interested in one another but have a son together, it creates a brother-sister dynamic. I can appreciate that. Jess has a big heart. 💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes the part that gets me is when she first had her son by ROME and she was struggling to pay bills sitting in her apartment with no lights and electricity………he won’t around.
Brother sister raising a baby lol real admirable
Me and my ex husband are like this
@@ToasterForLife You might be on to something. 🤔😂
@@pareeshaslaughter6798 Yeah, I agree. However, I'm glad he explained why: He believed there was a man in the home, and his girlfriend at the time was telling him she's trying to use him. It's not a great reason, but I‘m glad he explained it.
These are the type of interviews I love from the Bfast Club! As a black man, Rome's vulnerability and willingness to improve as a person is very admirable.
Pregnant or not, Jess is so great because she brought him on the show knowing he can get extra help to continue his healing and show their community that positive co-parenting is possible.
MAAAAAN THIS ACTUALLY BOUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES...I SINCERELY FELT ROMES PAIN....AND IM SO GLAD THEY HAVE EVOLVED IN LIFE AND NOW STAND IN MATURITY AND IT'S BASED IN LOVE!!!
💯
I wasn’t expecting to cry ever watching the show but when he took those glasses off & apologized it was sincere & I pray Rome gets the help he needs to heal. & thank you Jess for being there for Rome. Beautiful black love. 🙏🏽
Def when he took the shades off and apologized !!
@@tressamorgan1128no that was Narcissistic game, he knows Jess weak spots, and Lil shades off BS was some pulling heart strings BS 😂😂 Rome think he slick😂
@@mistahjay8598it could be narcissistic I guess. He’s played women all his life. I noticed he kept saying he’s young & has time but no one knows when they will leave this earth & the true judge ain’t accepting no excuses. I do believe he’s messed up though from his dads parenting to his mothers death. Hurt lil boy becomes a manipulator, cheater, liar, alcoholic, toxic, depressed hurt lil boy.
To have your baby's father on your show reminiscing about how yall got together, first dates and allat while pregnant by a new boyfriend is nasty work 😂
Crazy
😂😂😂
Or is it mature?
So surface
@@CLSmithSween it’s definitely not mature lol she could’ve had her new bd on here smh
I can listen to Rome talk all day it's refreshing to see a young black man starting to figure it out.
*Jess dropped a diss track on Envy with one bar “don’t talk about no house”* 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Seen black man being so raw and vulnerable is amazing!!! Because I bet my wholeeeee paycheck somebody listening to this was able to relate and say damn… it’s not just me.. damn, my feelings are valid…. Mad props to Black men evolving ❤
🤚🏾
Word ❤
They need more of this!! I can relate to Rome 💯. These are the conversations that need to be had and seen. Show us in a positive manner.
right here... and my boys are on point.
So true
The way they both say Tew and Deww 😂😂❤
Straight Baltimore
It's so weird. Lol but all those people from there speak like that.
@sandrapeters5546 it's pronounced "Bawdamore" !!!
Like Chrisean says, “Blew” instead of Blu😂. The Baltimore accents are consistent with it.
😂😂😂
I love their dynamic. Jess Is STILL bringing Rome with her on this journey and this right here screams, love, respect, and understanding.
They genuinely love each other.
Dope relationship.
Jess telling Envy Don't talk about no house is CRAZY 😂 31:48

😂😂😂😂😂
No, it's hilarious and true.😆
I went straight to that part 😂😂😂😂 You did the lord’s work THANK YOU😂😂
She said "I don't wanna hear it" 🤣
This is probably the best interview I have ever seen. Co-parenting , co-existing ... is easier said than done. These parents need an award, a medal, something. Shout out to Rome and Jess for sharing their story. Amazing work Breakfast Club👍
🤡🤡🤡🤡 parents who stay together deserve an award
Yes for sure. However when they can't or won't stay together this is commendable responsible maturity. Parents go their separate way for many different reasons. Kudos to these 2.
This should've been 2 hours long great conversation
He was so vulnerable in front of the world and that was so relatable and admirable
I might've been drinking, but i was drinking on the job, so i still WAS at work! 😂
You gotta watch their old UA-cam series its hilarious.... One time she said he was drinking while driving with their son in the car, he said I wasn't drinking and driving, I was drinking before I came to pick him up and had to drive to come pick him up 😂😂😂😂

Uh
No
You know what’s even better? Marriage.
Crazy you saluting for trash
I was brought to tears damn near when Rome apologized to Jess ❤ it was so genuine and authentic
I'm not gonna lie. As a black man, I don't know how you can listen everything Rome said and not relate. I felt everything he said 1000%
Some of us may be able to empathize without being able to fully relate, especially if we haven't experienced a broken home, an abusive father, a complicated family situation, or baby mommas. While I appreciate Rome's honesty and openness, our experiences are not the same. So yeah, some of us can empathize, but NOT relate. 👍🏾
This interview had all the right elements. Funny, down to earth and emotional. 40 mins went by so fast. Good one Breakfast Club!
💯🔥
Agreed
I appreciate his transparency and vulnerability!
He stole the show 🔥🔥🔥
One of the best interviews, seeing a man being so vulnerable and serious about the situations he has been through. That’s a big deal. Most celebrities wouldn’t come up there and be this real. This is an eye opener for most men. Not wanting to be alone is a real feelings most MEN feel but won’t admit.
One of the best interviews y'all have ever had. Rome struggled to look Jess in the eye the whole time. Guilt, shame and anger are whooping him, but he was incredibly articulate and vulnerable. This convo was necessary.
“You hate me so much coz I caught your ways.” Damn!
I appreciate the honesty and rawness in this entire convo.
That mf hit like a bullet when he said it 💯
That part made me tear up fr! Some Fathers don’t understand their impact on their kids 😢
say this to my “mom” all the time, the reality is that they really hate themselves which in actuality causing them to hate the version of self that they see in us.
Then he added “I’m 20 yrs younger and still want & have time to change. You’re still doing the same shit at your age!” Baby if this isn’t the final nail in the coffin I don’t know what else qualifies as such 😢
@@user-bg4gi6hh4e they see the part of themselves they dislike reflected back to them & can’t stand it. But somehow expect their kids & everyone else to tolerate their flawed ways
They got my boy Rome on breakfast club Baltimore stand tf up lol

YOOOOOOOO!!!!! This interview is so funny and sweet at the same time. Those Baltimore accents are golden.
This was one the most honest, most vulnerable, and most transparent interviews thus far. Thank you Jess and Rome for allowing this interview to be a safe space for people who are currently going through this, and a great reflection for people who have gone through this and are choosing to grow... ✨💛
I love that he’s being so vulnerable and holding himself accountable. I feel like a lot of BMs and BDs can benefit from these conversations. It’s about the kid first and these relationships can be healthy✊🏾
If you ever decide to have a kid its not about you anymore. Its not about him anymore. Its about the child. Its obvious alot of parents dont care about the kids because alot of them grow up with only one parent. As long as nobody is abusive both need to stay for the child it can always work. People give up to easy
@@rzwitdauncut You’re so right. Do you feel like sometimes it’s also not being able to control your emotions enough to put your feelings aside and focus solely on the child? I feel like that has something to do with too
@@rzwitdauncut I tell my nieces this all the time - don’t be out here having a baby if you’re not done being selfish because once you bring a life into this world, it’s not about you anymore. Your focus is the baby - period✊🏾
Yessss
Having kids out of wedlock is the downfall of black culture
I love how he took off his glasses to look her in her eyes❤
Even if I was drinking on the job, but i was working 😂😂😂
I love this dynamic ❤️ Once emotions are pushed aside, the co parenting relationship can flourish. This is the definition of true friendship

Omg not them interviewing the baby daddy. I love the breakfast club's selection of guests they always seem to throw a curve ball every now and then.
I love when they do

This one of the realest Breakfast club interviews ever!! BIG Shoutout to Rome. He spoke a lot of our truths. Black Men are better because this testimony! BIG Shoutout to Charlamagne too for offering a great therapist. Please take him up on that King ✊🏾👑
He had a dad in the home and look how his dad did him, but then they will blame single moms.
Lotta gems in this interview .. a lot of people don’t know what love looks and sounds like
My mom and dad are similar to them. They were never married, had 4 kids together, and a on and off relationship.. no it wasn’t all good but they grew to become best friends, and they’re really close in a friendly way. It feels good to see that
It’s a wonderful thing to see Jess and Rome be so grown. Their friendship is definitely blessing their son in so many ways. God bless
I cried when he apologized to herrrr but this was the funniest , best interview in a minute ! One thing about it , I love their coparenting relationship 🔥
This was great 🫶🏽 definitely enjoyed this dialogue

See how much better it can be when you take the fake hate out, take the fake attitudes out, take the bullshit drama out and just coexist and make the best of a situation with the person you once loved ? Anger takes more energy than happiness, especially when y’all fake angry

Loved this interview!!!
As a young co parent, this was a powerful moment for young co parents out here. Thank yall for blessing us for the knowledge and wisdom of that🙏🏾
This is a real conversation. A lot of black families do stuff like what Rome is talking about to their kids, nieces, nephews etc. A lot of black (American/West Indian mostly) Gen X and Baby Boomers sabotaged their kids and whenever the younger people try to speak to them to fix it privately, they deny, lie, cry etc. It's sad and this is difficult to say but we need to forgive them and do better in our own lives. Jess is a good woman for giving him the space to heal and share his experiences on these public platforms.
Dope interview 💯💯💯
Such a great interview!! ❤
Not Rome sitting in that chair like he's an actually celebrity being interviewed. He took this so seriously. I'm sure he was geeked! 🤣🤣
He actually handled the situation like a man . Salute
You're showing high low level your emotional intelligence is, this is one of the best interviews I've ever seen across any platform
He was being a good interviewee. How should he have acted? Scared and shy?
I think this is good content, personally
The funniest thing is when Envy says “👏🏾Well, there u have it” 😆😆😆 then somebody else keeps talking to keep the interview going. 💀 he always does this
This interview and conversation was so beautiful and raw and unfiltered and needed. Thank both of them for their evolution, for their selflessness on letting us into their story so that we could learn and for the glow up in general. Changing habits, finding grace for yourself and others, ego death, learning how to communicate etc etc is so mf hard to do! Anyone who attempts and succeeds at it is to be applauded and I'm so proud of both of them for doing that for themselves, their kids and each other! It inspires me to do the same💯
Brothers...WE needed and need this conversation. Its for us.
