I just recently got an xmaxx and I was debating between the two I’m very happy with the xmaxx well worth the money so much fun and puts a smile on my face
Super cheap to fix too. Parts are usually only $5-10 and once you find the weakpoints and fix the ones that annoy you, it shouldn’t break often. The big traxxas cars are definitely the cheapest large scale cars to maintain
great video! I honestly 1000 times prefer the xmaxx. my friends and I often go off road in the countryside and my friend with the xrt can't do many things, he struggles. instead the xmaxx goes practically everywhere
@@spekz718 There are now 6 of us, 4 xmaxx and 2 xrt. We shoot both on off-road tracks and in real off-road terrain, using natural ramps and so on. When there are too steep climbs, the xrt fails and even when there are particular terrains we noticed that it struggles. For example with mud or terrain with a lot of soil, it blocks easily. On normal trail roads it is perfect, but for real off road we noticed that the xmaxx is better.
thanx for the informative video! is there a difference regarding reliability in general and durability in light bashing? I hate replacing parts after each drive...thanks again
Ok, even with the power issue, I think your comparison is still pretty close. The Xmaxx is big and derpy, higher off the ground(CG) and good for stunts. The XRT lower, better handling and could concievably be raced with if you got enough of them together on a track. Good vid.
For the same reason I love my Outcast above the Kraton... The XRT looks dialed and the Xmaxx more fun. That is a personal preference of course. Both cars can take a beating!
It really depends on how they're used. The X-Maxx is more fun to jump (maybe) and great for driving over very rough terrain, but at the same time, it's frustrating to drive in a circuit because it just doesn't handle that great in the turns. While the XRT is kinda the opposite, really. However, I think it'll be easier to tune the XRT to more like the X-Maxx, but it would be harder to get the X-Maxx to be more like the XRT. Regardless, they're both great trucks and both fun to drive. 😎
@@AussieRCPlayground this is the exact type of comment I’m looking for. I want the off-road capability of the xmaxx but don’t care for the clumsiness of the xmaxx. How could you go by doing this, sort of making the XRT similar to the xmaxx in this sense but not quite.
Not really The X-Max wide kit kind of fixes that right off the bat kind of lowers it down a couple inches and makes it way more stable@@AussieRCPlayground
Would be very interesting to see the difference if you swapped the wheels/tires over. I'd hazard a guess that's making a big difference. Along with the wider stance, and lower centre of gravity the XRT has.
If you're looking for an electric 1/5 scale racing RC the XRT is it now if you're into RC's for the off-roading and going out and doing whatever with him definitely get the X-Maxx
Great comparison Vas was quite the treat to see an Xmaxx back on the channel looks like it’s brand new? Would be great to own both after setting up a small mortgage 😂
Haha, yeah, dropping $4k on a couple of these is getting serious. And by that I mean, that's a serious loan or credit card debt for the average person. 😏
Awesome comparison Vas. Very much enjoyed that, and the fact you can drive makes a difference. For real. The X-maxx is a clumbsy animal in comparison to the XRT that's for sure and I'm glad you showed off the X-Maxx's brake pivot turns... sometimes the only way to turn them around quickly. So... I have to ask... Have you named your XRT yet lol. God I can't wait to get mine!!!
XRT IS very easy to be controlled do to the lower center of gravity an is very easy to correct mistakes. I have both as well I find myself running the XRT more. Not because it's NEW but it is very much fun to RUN an JUMP
That's okay buddy I changed 2 motors and 1 esc on my big rock before my wife turned the switch from 75 percent to 100 percent when she was having a go 🤯🤔👍as always buddy your videos are awesome cheers
Yes great vid bro.. and yes I do see what ppl mean I've definitely seen standard faster.. I do prefer the XRT to the X max. ... Thanks to you man I'm loving the hobby. Way bk when you done your 6s Senton vid at your older BMX track you ran at. That was my first Rc car. I've now 7. 😂..... Good vid.
WD-40 is kerosene-based which will degrade your plastics. Bad idea. I know of a popular UA-camr who recommends WD-40 for "strengthening" plastics, but that is the placebo effect. WD-40 and other solvents will weaken your plastics. If you wanna clean with chemicals, use stuff like baby wipes.
@@Boogie_the_catNot really a placebo. It can make brittle plastics more flexible, thereby making them more durable in certain situations. It's not 'strengthening', but whether or not it's a degradation depends on what attributes you want the plastic to have.
If you like Jumping / stunts / off road, get the Xmaxx. If you rather just go fast and race around a field or on road, get the XRT. I prefer Xmaxx. My mate has the XRT. It looks cool and fast but not the greatest if bashing is your thing.
If you have been wanting the xmaxx for a long time then get it as you won't be disappointed. Took me years of saying no to the xmaxx because of price. I then got cheaper rc,s but wasn't for me. I then got the xmaxx and wow the smiles I get from it.
I am so disappointed of you Vas. Supporting the stupid T-Brand which is pushing others with law suits is not what I exspected of you. If that goes on I wil unsubscribe. I dont care if the video is good and if the comparison is right
I appreciate the feedback, but I wasn't aware you controlled what content I put out. When did this rule come into effect and why wasn't I notified? 😬 All jokes aside, if it offends you that much that I show off a Traxxas product on my channel, then don't watch the video. You don't have to threaten me with "unsubscribe" nonsense because that's not gonna change anything. If you were serious about me "supporting T-brand" than you would've unsubbed ages ago because I have heaps of other videos about Traxxas cars that are years old.
Traxxas mm, not a huge fan of the brand. Expensive/ plastic etc however that xrt truggy looks insane and seems to handle pretty dam good. Nice work bud. I do need to speak with asap, can i contact you through metro / Facebook etc. Please let me know. Cheers

Not a massive Traxxas fan, but hey it's RC and this dude keeps it real.
Love the show man 👍😂
Thanks Jim. 🤜🤛

What can't the xrt do. Though???

I’ve seen that the xrt backflips just as easy as and xmaxx
Xmaxx races are MUCH more fun, derpy and all
It's running nice Vas, the XRT does handle better. Excellent review.
Nice comparison... Thank you
X maxx for sure.

Yeah, for sure. That's why I made this video and the next one coming up, it's to show how similar, yet different they are.

XRT for me , looking forward to the full bore run . The sand trap seems to have magnetic properties, or the force is strong in this one !.
Hopefully I'll get out again this weekend for another rip. 😁

Great comparison! 😊
I always put a little bit of duct tape on my motor wires where they connect and they never EVER come off :)
Great tip. Thank you. 🙂👍

Hi mate we can see a big difference in power with XRT now but yeah it will need some upgrades. Great video as always thank 👍🦘😁😁
Thanks 👍

Thanks for sharing, Ron, great to hear you're enjoying the hobby. 😎👍
Not sure why
Xmaxx looks more agile and faster compared to XRT
Think I prefer the truggy look of the XRT.
I heard spray down with wd-40 to help keep clean, is that true?

XRT basically drives like a big erevo.
The very difference between a monster truck and a truggy
I finally got both and now I don't know what to do😂
Xrt Traxxas xmaxx to of 😎 rc good job 👏👍 videos
Thanks 👍
I want apples to apples 🍎 with Xmaxx vs Arrma OutKast 8s
Xrt vs Arrma Kraton 8s. That’s would be nice
I'll see what I can do to make that happen. 🙂
totaly different truck cant campare them its mt vs truggy lower CG
i like my xmaxx hasn't disappointed other than the steering servo is rubbish
I'm still on the fence with which one I'm gonna get. I think I'm more towards a xmaxx cuz that's what I've always wanted. But xrt has me thinking
Same deal here. Been wanting the xmaxx for years but the XRT is making me wonder which one is better

Well look luke too me the x maxx did bette
Most cars are faster st 75% power
Loving my new Xmaxx but I’ll end up getting the xrt too
