Hell, I wouldn't even care if STi is pushed out to next gen if that's the case. This FA24 has proven to be such a good engine to work on! That's all I want at this point. STi transmission and DCCD.
I like the blue interior throwback. I have a ‘19 STi, and I don’t think I’ll ever own another Subaru unless they decide to do a new STi that isn’t full electric. The difference in feel between the old VA WRX and the VA STi for me was really massive, and all about the drivetrain, steering, and DCCD. If they don’t do something to address those, I’m not really interested.
as for the suspension being more aggressive than the GT, keep in mind the US and Canada are the only markets that use the GT name, every other market the GT trim is already called the "tS" as the dampers are "tuned by STI" (even though they're made by ZF).
I'm sorry but subaru is getting stupid af with their pricing... have we all just forgotten that a brand new VA wrx back in 2020 was 26k and a VA STI brand new was 36k? Then in 2022 the WRX all of a sudden became 35k? and a GT Trim is 47k? When a VA STI limited fully specd was only 43k? This wrx is is gonna be like 50k subaru needs a serious slap to the face to remind them they're not bmw or Audi and asking nearly 50k for a car worth 25k is asinine...
So you gonna say the same about the ugly ridiculous priced Golf R?? They are inline with every other manufacturer and I believe they have done comparisons and based on "price" they are worth it over the competition. But.... you don't have to buy one.
I noticed that too, subaru jacked up the price of the wrx from 26k to the price of what the sti was brand new. The ts is easily gonna be 50k thats such a laughable amount. 50k you can get so many other better cars
As a proud owner of an 04 STi, which I've modded and tuned myself for the past two years... ...I like this new model! I'm not about that hate, I think it looks sporty, aggressive and I like the homage to the OG STi. Thank for the video Sepp! I like your style bro.
lol I just sold my VB i wish Subaru started out with this and with a Sti transmission. Oh well I’ll stick with my old 07 wrx sti forever. Nice to see this upgrade though ❤
@@carswithsepp lol yeah a sliver one then I went out got sliver VB tossed on brembos drunkman full e85 and his 91 tunes wicked fun definitely but was still lacking a certain emotion I was looking for so I swapped out for the GR Corolla.
My WRX 23 at this point will cost 5 pennies 😖😖😖….stop making trims and just launch a damn STI…..hope i cant get an old subie with a good engine😢😢! Ty for the vid bro🫡
Its such a shame that the VIZIV concept got so much love that subaru started to develop multiple “new” trims to cover the loss of the sti…flashforward 5 years since the VIZIV and the vb still sit on lots waiting to be sold. I feel like this could be a really good compromise IF SOA cut the price of the tr trim down just a little bit and added some extra jdm bits and pieces to the tS (probably wont happen but🤷). Still crazy to think that the GT (a literal trim) MSRP’s higher then the last year of the STi, i can only wonder what these will go for….
Honestly, i like this direction, but with the cancellation of Supra, my buying prospect is going back to the drawing board. I was hoping to wait until the end of 2026 and see where the VB is going to end up at, as well as mk. 5 Supra would be. I'm going to assume that this tS can easily hit to mid 50k with accessories I must have, and IF STi does come out, im going to hope that the car hits 400 hp at least and be offered around mid to high 59k range. Still, considering other sports cars on the market, WRX can be worth the money, given the insanity with CTR and ITS we've seen so far, and it still makes better offering. I've seen the instrument cluster on JDM WRX and Levorgs before and was wondering when it was going to make it to the Stateside two years ago, and I completely forgot about it. My only concern is... that adaptive suspension would prolly gonna be the last thing to be upgraded or be a trick item to work around when people are looking to replace it with coilovers. Damn, if VB STi is offered near Supra territory or better, i wouldn't mind keeping it stock knowing anything after VB is going to be hybrid or EV.
It still has that awful, full diaper looking, of a rear diffuser. For that reason I am out. At these price points Id rather spend the extra and get a slightly used CT4-V BlackWing.
@@MoneyPrintingCircus I'm 6'1, and sunroof cut alot of head space for me. Plus because I want to take it to the track sunroof raise the center of gravity.
@@Chris-sd6os weight? Issues down the road?? Then don't buy a car in general cause they all break eventually. Not having an option to get a sunroof on a car is the most ridiculous thing any manufacturer can do. Maybe 10 percent of the people actually buy these things to track. So weight?? Cmon man!! The only thing I want to see and care about is if this car is actually tuned by Subaru to make more HP. I cannot believe the amount of shlepps spending 45k on a new car and voiding a warranty the minute they drive it off the lot. If this is an actual Subaru special model that makes more HP than the regular unlike the BS TR; then I will 100 percent buy one!
270 HP? My lawnmower has more power than that… Subaru is losing the plot. I had a 2021 STI and it was a huge letdown, seriously lacking on power. Bought a manual G80 M3 instead.
I haven't had my RS for even a week yet and was getting a little buyers remorse when I saw the article come out of nowhere, until I saw the blue they put on the interior and the styling of the digital gauge cluster. How does subaru just keep making ugly shit I don't understand. If it was the maroon color from the previous gen RS it would look great, this shade of blue looks like it was ripped from a plastic kids slide, and the brushed aluminum look is just dated. Digital displays are really cool when done right, If they had something similar to the the GR Corolla display it would be awesome.
@@Imprezalove Yeah it's honestly an awesome car, i'm going through the break in process right now so I'm not going too hard on it , but from what I can tell so far, the handling is great, the suspension is perfectly setup where it can get pretty bouncy on bad roads and feels aggressive when you want it to be, but it isn't overkill like the GR Corolla, I honestly don't think I'm missing out on the adjustable dampers. The car looks awesome in magnetite gray with the red brakes, the recaros are really well bolstered but comfortable. Even though the infotainment lags a little bit, fullscreen carplay on it more than makes up for it lol, the interior feels premium with the suede, the whole car is really fun. One thing that surprised me though, was how loud cold starts were. People said it was loud, but it is actually really loud for a stock exhaust lol, there's a ton of drone in the cabin.
I just finished break-in, felt like forever though. I’m experiencing all the things you are too. The morning cold start startled me at first. Thought something was wrong with the stock exhaust, but no just hella drone. An EJ257 cold start definitely less droney than the FA24.
Kind of a dick move to reveal this so shortly after the TR...
Tell me about it, I bought one lol
$44k? i paid $49k for my 2023 MT WRX VB, i feel scammed asf
@@bbnxa where are you located??
Damn 49???? I ordered a TR for 44 out the door
@@bbnxa California?
Wow this honestly is the best looking version they’ve made for that chassis by far. Feels so much more true to Subaru roots
At this point they should just put the STI Transmission with DCCD. This car would be even more BONKERS
Bonkers would be correct!!

I know right. Maybe the existing ones will get cheaper tho
2026 wrx sti maybe? Seems like they wanna do something new every year 😂 Maybe they'll do a farewell to gas cars with a limited run sti model🤞
Just needs the STI drive train!!
I think you're on to something here!🤔
Why would there be a farewell? Stop buying into this bullshit narrative that every car is going to be electric. EVs are dogshit
That’s a nice Honda Civic!
Lame.
I just bought a TR last month 🥲
What a beauty. At least I know there’s a car to upgrade too from my 2023 when the time comes.

I love how hellbent Subaru is at not making an actual STI for this generation.
Hope it gets boo’d at wicked big meet. Bring back the STI! Bring back the STI! Bring back the STI! Is what the crowd should chant
All that and no added power?? Ugh.

I hope Subaru keeps improving the wrx and changes the look dramatically for the next generation. I’d buy another one if they made it look a lot nicer.
Subaru really gave it to the recent TR crowd didn't they. I mean, we didn't even get a TR badge!
They should just make an STI version already. Why make this car at all

Nope

I have a feeling this will be priced even closer to the GR Corolla and Civic Type R….and unfortunately that will be its downfall.
Still no engine upgrade..... So who cares. They are milking the market. Hopefully price comes down for premium and base.

Sounds to me like they’re just trying to avoid putting “STI” back on the car. Stupid, stupid decision IMO.
Put in the DCCD and a better transmission then you already got an STI. Come on Subaru.
If it doesn’t have an increase in power - it’s pointless
That plastic arround the wheels man, they just ruined a nice design.

Don’t waste time and money, Subaru is dead, Type R please.
No this is nonsense
Just a few extra trinkets to fool prospective buyers into thinking that this is something special
Depends. There’s a lot of fan boys. I for one would love to put gold brembos on my 2023 wrx. The red ones were disappointing to me.
