1. look down into a mirror to flatten your eyelid and make it as straight as possible. 2. when curling one eye, look at the opposite side. 3. lift up the outer corner of the eye to scoop and hold the outer lashes (The metal part should be aligned with your lash line) 4. press and hold for a while, then start pumping going all the way upward (until you look creepy 😂) 5. while you hold it up. slightly tilt the eyelash curler inwards towards your nose to direct the lashes to stand upright. (keep pumping going inwards)
Okay, I was skeptical when I saw the title cause I have been using a eyelash curler for 30 years. This was so super helpful! I see why I haven't always gotten the desired results I wanted. I really can't wait to try this. I will come back and update my results. Thank you!!!!
Heating up my lash curler with my blow dryer is the number one thing that makes my lashes curl well and stay. Obv if you try this be careful and always test it on your hand or wrist before using it on your eyes
Omg I decided to try this this morning since it was pretty easy and honestly I didn’t have a lot of confidence that it would make much of a difference but wHOAAA like it definitely works, I keep feeling my lashes tap my upper lid they are so well curled, I didn’t think changing my technique would help so much, I’m definitely implementing this into my daily routine thank you!!! I totally recommend giving this a try!!
Same. I dislike the "standing straight up" effect curlers give. Imo lash perms just look better. They curl the lash but not straight up, so it looks more natural. But those aren't the economical choice 🥲
@@raerohan4241 you can curl them twice, at the base and then halfway along to create a softer curl. curling them just at the base just bends them at the root
I agree with the thread. I avoid curling at my inner eyes and don’t go for the standing straight up look because to me it looks like spiders! I also do it more to the middle than the root of the lashes at my eyes center cause it looks like a softer more natural shape and focus on the outer edges rather than curling the whole eye’s lashes. I do it in a similar way to this girl, too. I think you just have to find what’s best for your eye shape.
I blow dry my lash curler for like 10 seconds, I make sure it’s not to hot and then I curl my eyelashes. It’s a game changer! Thanks for showing this technique, I might try tomorrow :)
*saved and noted* great tip! For a non heated one this is the best tip forsure. The heated curlers def are a game changer as well I was always hesitant to but I found an amazing lavender one on amazon that heats up to the perfect temperature and has a rechargeable battery. Once the heat hits + a lash growth serum it’s also dramatic difference with a bit of heat.

This was very helpful even though I had to modify the technique for my lashes and eyes. Unfortunately, my cheapest lash curler is the right one but it needs to be replaced. It has a short deep curve. I think you have to use waterproof mascara, not regular, for some reason it helps hold curl. You could also heat your curler with a hairdryer for a few secs, not too hot of course (let it cool a little bit), that will help a lot too.
So I'm fairly certain you might have a condition called distichiasis, which means you have double or multiple rows of eyelashes. I noticed it from the thumbnail immediately, and from watching the video one key way to tell is both the density of the lashes and all of those lashes you can see that are growing above the lashline on the upper lids. Sadly this means that most people are not going to be able to achieve your results with any method. Edit to add: I can see some that appear to be growing out of your waterline and some that appear to be growing towards your eye too, these are other features of distichiasis. I have it but I'm ginger so unless I wore mascara I don't even have the benefit of looking beautiful they just irritate me :'v This condition can be linked with a genetic heart defect, but I just have other genetic stuff going on instead.
Wow, you just made sense of my eyelashes, I didn't know it was something unusual to have eyelashes coming out of several rows, the same thing happens to me, My lashes not only grow from the edge of the waterline but also slightly above on the eyelid and below, like at different levels, I'm brunette and they always look kinda messy.
Extra eyelashes naturally?? Seems like more of a blessing then a curse for her. (Edit: I didn't mean to be insensitive to your struggle with genetic conditions. Realized after I submitted the comment it could have come across that way. ) ❤
Mine used to be a single line of lashes but years ago when my eyes got very itchy from a stubborn hard to wash off eye cream and I scratched my lids because it was itching like mad , I noticed eventually I had lashes growing below and above the original lash line . I don’t like it but short of plucking them out , I am stuck with them . The lash line has never been the same since .
@LilKitLen I too have Distichiasis and am also a Natural Ginger. Ahhhh…. The toils and troubles we have😉. Born with a congenital heart murmur as well as a plethora of other congenital joys LOL. Every day is a gift.♥️ I agree that she too has Distichiasis on both bottom and top lashes. If anyone sees this and feels they may have Distichiasis, PLEASE book in with a Cardiologist as the Heart issues that come with this “blessing” can be fatal and/or life altering so it is best to catch it before you find out the “hard” way. MANY Optometrists miss it because of all of the Lash lengthening products that have come out since Latisse that has what is called a Prostoglandin in it. Many have been sued by Allergan and thus, removed however there are still MANY that come from overseas and they just do not list it on the bottle. So if you are purchasing one from Korea as an example, and it works like a dream for you, it could very well contain prostoglandin so look up the warnings of using it if pregnant or breast feeding as well as the other warnings and unless you have the funds or access to a Lab to have it analyzed, assume for the sake of safety that it does contain Prostoglandin and act accordingly. As for the person who commented on having these wee fair lashes that grow and “short of plucking them out you are stuck with them”…no. You are NOT stuck with them and it is absolutely in your best interest to book in with an Ophthalmologist who does do laser (check their credentials and ensure they are in good standing with their board! Also check reputation and any and all info you can find on them.) and get checked to see if they are doing damage to the sclera (the white part of the eye) as well as your cornea (the front of the eye that you see through) and it might not be a huge deal as the Cornea does regenerate ever 24-48 hours DEPENDING on the depth of the injury as well as the consistency of injury. So…..in a nutshell if these little fair wisps of lashes are annoying enough, get them “zapped” into oblivion so they do NOT come back (be a good idea to grill the Ophthalmologist on what their “guarantee” is on their Lasering as most of us have learned that there is NO such thing as “Permanent Laser Hair removal”……it comes back. It may come back more sparse and thinner but it usually comes back so you have to keep going until it doesn’t come back however the lash line is one of the few places that a one time zap usually does the trick. Just do your due diligence on who you see to have this done. One of the biggest reasons that I push for lasering these little buggers off is that if you are constantly scratching your cornea, permanent damage can occur. It takes a LOT for that to happen but it CAN happen and no one wants to be THAT statistic. Corneas can get to the point that they will not have enough epithelial cells to regenerate so get ahead of this as a Cornea donation for transplant is, believe it or not, THE most difficult donation to obtain and there are a LOT of people out there that would have 100% sight with something as simple as a Cornea donation and transplant. It is just not a part of the body that people will donate. As a matter of fact it is the #1 part of the body that people who DO donate will hold back. The eyes are a big deal in MANY cultures and religions so while the other major organs may have a “pass” from those cultures and religions, the eyes do NOT. Sadly. I understand as my religion frowns on organ donation however, I have had Surgeons come and speak to our Shul in the hopes that some of the Conservative Jews will change their mind as there isn’t any Rabbinical or Torah Law sating that you can NOT donate your organs. That being said, those that have agreed to do such a selfless thing, have outright said that they just could not donate their eyes. So, we break down one glass wall and hit another one but…..baby steps. So….in continually damaging that cornea by constant abrasion from those tiny lashes and rubbing your eyes because of them, you could be causing more harm than you realize. Absolutely bring it up at your yearly eye check up but do NOT take an Optometrists word as the final answer as I have seen MANY misdiagnose Distichiasis or downright ARGUE with ME that I do not have it but I “Must have used Latisse to get my lashes that thick….”😳First off, Latisse does NOT build row upon row of lashes, and IF it DID, they would fall out as fast as they came if you ever skipped any time in not using it. So, there you have it, Optometrists do not have ALL the answers and while some may be exceptional, just like every profession, there are duds. As for you my Ginger Sister……those wee lashes that are so fine and blonde…..I have actually had mine dyed and it makes a HUGE difference as I loathe wearing mascara. Again, I did a TON of research on finding THE BEST lash person in the City before I let ANYONE near my eyes, but this woman has the hands of Angels and it makes a HUGE DIFF for me so don’t give up quite yet! I have also had her do a “lash perm” which is risky but again, She IS the best in the Biz around here at least and WOW does THAT and Brow lamination make a HUGE difference for ME. Actually if I do NOT have my lashes “permed” all of those wee wisps WILL grow in and under which is 100% congenital and hereditary for me personally as my Nanny had the exact same issue and I remember going with there to have a Bleph that was PAID for by healthcare…..hmmmm….a free Lid Lift……sign me up in a few years LOL. Back then that was the only way to get them to NOT cause damage to her cornea as she had lashes that looked like caterpillars. They were beautiful but as I got older and entered medicine, I began to understand it was not the “blessing” I thought it was. Ho hum…..it Tis what it Tis….. as she would say. But that blepharoplasty truly made all the difference in the world for her. So, look into that as a possibility if laser is not. It could still be an option. I am fortunate enough that when I first became ill and lost all of my precious Ginger Hair, and lashes……🥺…..that when it grew back in, it grew back in Platinum. Yep…..THAT Platinum. The color that everyone is paying huge $$$ for and here I am with it naturally. LOL. 🤷🏼♀️ G-d works in mysterious ways. I still miss my Ginger as nothing was like my Ginger hair….however at least I do not have to face those pesky “greys” or that soft Strawberry blonde that comes to Gingers as we get older and it looks as if our hair is going a hue of pink depending on your actual color. I am grateful for that….oh, and for BEATING that friggin dis-ease that I shall not give ANY power to by saying its name. HA! All in all this “trick” she is doing does work BUT if your lashes are not conditioned they WILL break off and if your follicles aren’t healthy, they will PULL OUT so gentle goes the battle of the lash. I still swear by my Lash perm lady. It works and it lasts and she hasn’t blinded anyone by the Grace of G-d! Knock on wood, may she NEVER!!! Be well and stay healthy ladies. Remember that not ALL the answers are found on YT. More questions than answers IMO! LOL! Do your own DUE DILIGENCE before you take anything as “gospel”, even what I have to say!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I do this too and add a small amount of eyeliner between my lashes to make them look a little smoky and full and add a very light coating of the sky high mascara to the tips of my outer lashes. Your lashes came out beautifully!
Wow, that's amazing! I've been doing it all wrong, and I also don't have the gorgeous lashes you do! Do you think the combed curler is better for shorter, thinner lashes? And yes, your tutorial on this IS the BEST!
I always heat up my curler that’s the only way for me to make them stay up and curled the best! I’m doing this for years now and don’t have any damage on my lashes
Thank you so much for this tutorial! My lashes have never looked better!:) I would like to know what eyelash serums or eyelash curlers you use beacuse i have a feeling like my lashes are getting thinner and shorter fast:/

THISS!!! i also pump it up and all the way down to make it look more curly! the end result is soooo pretty and i never do the old & usual way of doing lashes anymore

mine looks much better in my opinion and I only heat up my curler (and I use a cheap one) but actually you are right about the curler curve and your eyes shape. that's my opinion 😊
I swear the people who make videos like these already have an excess of the quality they’re trying to promote. A lash curler will not create those lashes- good hair growth will.
I was Looking for this comment. She’s very fortunate to have long lashes & granted lash serum gets you there as well, but that’s an extra step for those who have smaller lashes
@@cheyennec5546just be careful with serums. try to only use natural ones with oils and plant extracts as some chemical formulas can promote unwanted hair growth around the eye itself
My genuine question is what exactly is the difference from a lower quality vs higher quality. What exactly would be the difference from say an elf curler and more expensive one?
I’m not sure if elf would be low quality, but what I wouldn’t buy are ones with a super hard cushion, sharp metal curve (the part that goes on your upper lid, or anything that looks like it would pinch on the sides

I don’t like it but short of plucking them out , I am stuck with them . The lash line has never been the same since .
I find curling lashes always cause at least one or two to fall out that same day . 😢
@LilKitLen I too have Distichiasis and am also a Natural Ginger. Ahhhh…. The toils and troubles we have😉. Born with a congenital heart murmur as well as a plethora of other congenital joys LOL. Every day is a gift.♥️
I agree that she too has Distichiasis on both bottom and top lashes.
Your lashes are simply gorgeous even before you used the curler. Interesting technique- I’m thinking I don’t have enough lashes to even try 😂this
She naturally has thick lashes, but she uses Scorolash eye serum for length. She's said this in replies on some of her other videos
Now I know why I’ve never had success with curling my eyelashes. I’ve got the complete wrongly shaped curler. Thank you ☺️
Just found your channel. Just watched the lip liner video and this one now? You are the answer to my prayers literally. Thank you! Subscribed 🤍
@@thatsnotmyname1 thank you for your support!! So happy to help ❤️
THANK YOU! I’m old AF and I could never figure this out!
im so glad ur channel exists, much love ❤
❤️🥺
Wow, that's amazing! I've been doing it all wrong, and I also don't have the gorgeous lashes you do! Do you think the combed curler is better for shorter, thinner lashes? And yes, your tutorial on this IS the BEST!
I also warm my curler with a blow dryer first. It acts like a curling iron…. Just be sure it isn’t HOT so you don’t get burned.
I don't use eyelash curlers but this was still interesting to watch! You def got the most out of it. Also you're gorgeous :)
I always heat up my curler that’s the only way for me to make them stay up and curled the best!
I’m doing this for years now and don’t have any damage on my lashes
I curl my eyelashes a lot but watching this made me so nervous lol
Honestly me too
THIS WORKS ABSOLOUTE WONDERS GIRL I LOVE YOU
Thank you so much for this tutorial! My lashes have never looked better!:) I would like to know what eyelash serums or eyelash curlers you use beacuse i have a feeling like my lashes are getting thinner and shorter fast:/
@@Roseyyoldrose aw thank you for your comment! I have a lash care routine video and a curler video if you’re interested ❤️❤️ hope that helps
Girl!! This method is a game changer ❤ my lashes look so good now 😊 THANK YOU 💋
girll your before is my after if i curl normally 😭😭 i have the straightest lashes ever they point straight down, but they’re pretty long and heavy so they always fall back down.. what do i dooo 😭
I think you have to use waterproof mascara, not regular, for some reason it helps hold curl. You could also heat your curler with a hairdryer for a few secs, not too hot of course (let it cool a little bit), that will help a lot too.
THISS!!! i also pump it up and all the way down to make it look more curly! the end result is soooo pretty and i never do the old & usual way of doing lashes anymore
Wowwwww looks amazing. I definitely feel like I learned a lot! I’ve never really understood using lash curlers! I used to think they didn’t work on me at all, but now I’m really curious to try again. I’ll start looking for a better curler! Thank you so much!
Hi 👋🏻 can you please do your eyebrows tutorial or how you shape them! ❤
mine looks much better in my opinion and I only heat up my curler (and I use a cheap one) but actually you are right about the curler curve and your eyes shape. that's my opinion 😊
i tried your way of curling it does work better.
Omg this girly tip is gold, and it works! 😭😭😭😭😭✨ I have never seen my lashes this curly, I love you so much. Thank you😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️✨
I did this while watching this & it works. Still, it’s not for everyday, 2x. 3x /week is okay.👍🏻
oh my goshhhh… i was gonna buy a lash serum because my eyelashes wasnt that visible but omg thank you so muchhhhh
YOUR EYES MY GOD
I have really straight lashes but I’ve never seemed to get the curlers right and this looks easier to do! I have to try it
This is such a great hack! I used a target lash curler and it was fine.
Great technique! Have you ever tried the Stewardess Duo Eyelash Curler? It will keep your eyelashes looking freshly curled all day.
Girl i thought these just didnt work on me and couldnt find any tutorials THANK YOU
Your eye shape is gorgeous, my downward eyes could never.
Thank you, I bought one like 4 years ago but never used it because never understood the technique, thank you so much for sharing.
This was actually super helpful!
THIS IS CRAZZZYYY my eyelashes have never felt more like… voluminous?!
🥹🥹❤️
I TRIED THIS AND IT WORKS SO WELLL btw ur literally so pretty i love ur hair
Wow thank you so much for this tutorial my lashes look so muchh longer and better + your mascara tutorial is MAGICC
