Great video. When I was much younger (and not going bald!) I had a HUGE pompadour in the early 90's. It was way bigger than Brian Setzer. My wife was trying to do a "vintage hair do" for a party. She was getting upset. Once she told me what she was trying to do, I realized she was basically doing a pompadour and a victory roll. I had NEVER done a womans hair. Your videos helped. My wife hair spray SUCKS! Back in the day, I had to use Aquanet. It was cheap back then, and I could get my pomp HUGE! Dipping way down and back up. Rest short and greased. Is Aquanet still the go to spray for price and hold? Back then I bought it dirt cheap, and it was like liquid cement. I told her how I use to use a empty toilet paper roll, and make one single roll from the back of my head, dipping down my forehead, and around to the back. The sides we cut super short. It looked like your "Pinup Faux Bangs Vintage Inspired" video or like your "Snood Hair". I kinda just made the do up back then. But it took up my entire top of my head. So, She wants different bangs, and a couple small "Faux Bangs" on the side. Would Aquanet and toilet paper roll be good to make very small ones? Or can they not be done that small? She wants one like 2 inches wide. It is strange doing my wifes hair. But I played in a rockabilly band for so long I am good at the pompadour stuff and the Snood stuff. But my sided we a 1/2 inch with grease. Her hair is long LOL. But I am having fun. Is the spray you use cost a lot more than Aquanet? My wife is a real penny pincher. Thanks for your great videos. I did your "Pinup Swirl" spot on tonight! And I use a super, super long black bandana. I tied it offset and let a 3 foot end hang down the back. We had never seen it tied like that, but she LOVED IT! The real long end added a "Deadwood" vibe.
Thanks so much for the tutorial! My daughter has to be Betty Grable for her 4th grade project.."Live Museum" and I m excited to dress her up like a 40's Glam girl!! :)
Even though you have red hair I would looooove a Marilyn Monroe hair and makeup tutorial! She is my absolute idol. I just cant ever seem to get her look down! Thank you and you have the best tutorials!!
@TheKrissySnow Thank you so much Krissy!! :) I like switching my look up when it comes to makeup. Sometimes its colorful anf other times its dark. Thanks for noticing hun!
Go for it!! Seriously, what's the worst that could happen? It's so much fun doing this and you shouldn't stop yourself for fear of what others will think. I first wore pinup hair just to go out for dinner with my family and I felt so pretty the whole night. It's so much fun, do it!!
I love love love this look, I think the reason mine never looks as awesome as yours is because I don't ever tease it enough. I also love how yours goes from being a hot mess to an incredible sleek look. So much love.
Love it! Thank you for posting! Btw I love that you being the expert say that you don't always get it the first time. Makes me feel so much better about doing this style. Especially since most people act like they do flawless work without any hiccups.
I love that you put the bobby pins in before you roll your hair that's a little hairdressing trick for when doing French plaits, I've never even thought about doing in for victory roll, I'll have to try that on my self next time, thank you for the inspiration :) x
I just noticed that I was watching with my head tilted down because I subconsciously wanted you to move down into frame about 4 inches. Thanks for moving the camera up ;)
+PinupDollAshleyMarie I'm sorry to ask you this and I'm sure you get asked this all the time but I heard that you are slowly getting out of the pin up look and you where planning to get rid of your vintage clothing if that is true can you please contact me of the clothing pieces you are selling or giving for free. Please I am trying to start my collect because this look makes me feel self confident and beautiful. After watching these videos for a long time you have taught me to be perky, self confident, and have prevented me from self harm. I just want to say thank you and have a wonderful day. here is my email: baileycharpentier1998@gmail.com
+Bailey Charpentier Hey hun! I'm not sure where you heard that from but it's false. I don't intend to stop. I still very much wear my vintage clothing. I'm planning on selling some stuff eventually to make more room in my closet but it won't tons of clothing
i love that you have subtitles which kinda keep me informed, seeingas I have no speakers or headphones to listen with. But I need a cute hairstyle to go with my dress. kickass tutorial, btw!
Hi dear, Love your videos. Have started doing my own video's from the 60 year old perspective; "How to Wear a Vintage Hat and Not Feel Like a Fool" parts 1 & 2 so far and just found yours. I enjoy your vintage look and fascinating perspective! Talked about victory rolls and now can let my followers know how to do them, Thanks!
I love this look but everytime i try i feel it looks so severe im more drag queen than pin up girl. What am i doing wrong? Maybe i just need to get use to it?
I have wavy to curly hair. Would you suggest curling my hair in big or small curls before starting on victory rolls? Or can I just go ahead with my hair as is? You're look is fabulous! Thank you.
Thanks pretty girl! You've got your Great Grandma's Glamour! I am a long time collector of the 1940's clothing and accessories, and now I can have the Hairstyle too, thanks to your awesome tutorial!
It was said before, but the teasing gives it volume and helps the bobby pins stick. It also really helps the roll form better. If your tease won't hold, try to put some dry shampoo or even beach spray in your hair. I have Asian hair, and teases on their own fall out, and I use beach spray in my hair before teasing. Really helps.
Wow! I love love the way u do ur tutorials.U nail it frm begining to end.Starting with every implement u use, frm bobby pins to wat type of hairspray nd brushes :) to the finish look includin ur makeup bein done through out the entire tutorial. Your neat through the entire process nd your execution of the finished hair is so clean. Plus i nvr thought i was the type of person to pull off victory rolls till seeing ur style of victory rolls,nd i love it. Thanx alot girl!
It looks amazing!! Any tips on how to comb out the teased hair again? My hair's quite a bit thicker than yours, I'm afraid I'd have to cut it after teasing it so much.
Thank you! That was really helpful. I think you said you had fine hair. I have fine hair that's really slippery and hard to manage. The pace of your video was awesome and I could follow along and I agree with you, practice, practice, practice. Thanks again for a great video.
OMG Thank u so much u made it so easy w/ the teasing and bobby pinning, got it down the first try. You save me fr cutting my hair to get this look thank u!
hey how are you? what an amazing tutorial because I have the side of my hair shaved can victory rolls still work on my hair and I was thinking to make the rolls is by using coke cans? let me know please? as soon as you can take care look forward to hearing from you. xx
@Blondecherrybomb Youre welcome doll!! One of my good friends was the one who showed me the trick. She's a hairstylist and whenever she comes to visit me she shows me new things :)
Yeah that teasing freaks me out but hey, we all do "ridiculous" things to ourselves to achieve the desired look. Anyway, simply beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you so much for this I am doing hair & make up for a photo shoot with a pinup concept! I have five models that I have to do fairly different pinup looks for you have been so helpful. Thanks!
Wow!I adore this style, i'm going to give it a go myself for next time I go out on the town.thanks chick, your so talented its sparked some inspiration I forgot I had xxxxx
I've tried this hairstyle before, really hard to achieve the back part so you really have to feel the rolls as you pin it. I love wearing my hair like this, but she does hell of a better job than I do, it's much more extravagant than mine maybe because I need to tease it spray it more. I'll try this technique next time. Thanks for the Tutorial, time and effort well spent.
@mrsnemetchek The hair being dead has nothing to do with it. I've done this style on many people with gorgeous healthy virgin hair and their hair all teases the same. It's the proper teasing brush that makes the tease. For my hair being bleached its quite healthy. I use a hair masque that takes the tease right out. Makes my hair silky and doesnt break :) I do weekly treatments as well which strengthens my hair.
Thank you sooooo much. This is the first time I've really comprehended a sculpted victory roll. Mine have never come close to kissing before, and they're never big enough, Pretty sure I can get it to work the next time I try.
love your original look..thanks for not being the typical red lips/flower everyday girl. especically now adays when everyone seems to look the same.. you shine like a star in a darkened sky.. =)
I love your tutorials, I have been trying out your styles for a while now (6 months), and I'm wondering if my hair is too short for this. I have long layers but I don't think my hair is as long as yours the longest strand of my hair comes down to my collar bone (if I pull it taut) and my hair is very thick. Any comments for me?
I've actually tried this way for my victory rolls, and it works! just destroys teh crap outta your hair, so make sure you take care of it, and use a lot of repair product.
Your very pretty, god i wish i could do something with my hair, all i do is teeze it out like Siouxsie Sioux . Where did you learn your hair tricks, is your dye punky or lush ?
i love doing victory rolls on my hair, but i had to take a break after like six months..too much teasing messed up my hair,. but still ima keep doing my victory rolls they defne me,, you really pretty n i love your tutorial !
I'm still watching your videos in 2023. Your the most realistic Influencer on the internet, Keep it real. Thankyou
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

Now I understand why they are called victory rolls. After 2 hours of trying to get one roll to come out, no success. But thanks for the tips.
Kortenie M what do you mean to come out? I thought you were having trouble getting the roll up 😂😂
😂😂😂
Absolutely love this hairstyle! I have thin hair and I love seeing how people do these kind of designs.

Cassi Morales dead and loving it
I love that you put the bobby pins in before you roll your hair that's a little hairdressing trick for when doing French plaits,
I've never even thought about doing in for victory roll, I'll have to try that on my self next time, thank you for the inspiration :) x
Good job at victory rolls!! That is one of the toughest pin up hair styles to do! You did a great job!!
Thank you!
Literally the best victory roll tutorial! Ur styles are neat
Such hairstyles look really cool and beautyful!
I just noticed that I was watching with my head tilted down because I subconsciously wanted you to move down into frame about 4 inches. Thanks for moving the camera up ;)
It looks super awesome! It must feel so nice to take out all those bobby pins at the end of the day!! aaaahhh sweet relief!!
I think you did a great job , I'm a stylist and I love the 1940's victory roll up hairdo

You have to get used to it... Especially if you're not used to doing much with your hair.
It takes some time
I have wavy to curly hair. Would you suggest curling my hair in big or small curls before starting on victory rolls? Or can I just go ahead with my hair as is? You're look is fabulous! Thank you.
This is the best victory rolls tutorial i watched and learned. thank you doll! ❤️

It looks amazing!! Any tips on how to comb out the teased hair again? My hair's quite a bit thicker than yours, I'm afraid I'd have to cut it after teasing it so much.
Oh my gosh, the brush falling scared me. Hee hee, seriously girl u are amazing and creative. I can tell u will be famous!!! Awesome job!!
Thank you! That was really helpful. I think you said you had fine hair. I have fine hair that's really slippery and hard to manage. The pace of your video was awesome and I could follow along and I agree with you, practice, practice, practice. Thanks again for a great video.

You are so talented with these styles. Love it! And the color is so beautiful.
@SuperKawaiiChick There's no specific way to curl it doll. As long as your hair is waved a bit so it can form into a swirl :)
i love that i found another Rosas! Not many out there! Yay for last name Rosas....
I am so glad I found your channel gorgeous!!
