- We are National Parks lovers and fanatics! We love visiting them, hiking in them, going to ranger talks and ranger led programs, buying books and COLLECTING OUR PASSPORT STAMPS! Ahhh! We started out with a regular passport and upgraded to the nerdy binder version last year. We love getting them stamped and picking up pins for our collection. This video goes over the Passport, the Passport Binder, stamps, stickers, pins, patches and basically anything you might choose to collect while visiting National Parks in the USA. Choose your favorite!

What a fun way to collect things without filling up your RV with a bunch of random stuff! I typically grab a t shirt from each park, but they pile up pretty quickly. A also like to collect geocaching pathtags from each place, but Natl. Parks don't always have them. Fun fun! Thank you for sharing!
+Lost On Land Again Yeah we have to choose t-shirts sparingly as there isn't a ton of room to collect those! Love geocaching!
Hello and what a great video. That's an awesome Yosemite canvas bag your hubby has and great idea to place all the pins.
If you happened to have started on the smaller passport booklets and would like to "transfer" the cancellations stamps, you can scan them and print them onto the removable binder sheets. This also applies, if you have forgotten your book and had to stamp a paper slip.

Been to 50 parks this year I get stickers post cards and posters. Usually around $20-$30 per park.
You guys have just helped me narrow down what/how I'm going to start collecting. I think the patches, pins, magnets, sticker stamps and cancelation stamps are all cool as hell.....but like you said, trying to collect all of them are expensive!
I want to buy a passport book, but after seeing the the big one you guys have, I'll definitely go the same route! Going to stick to the stamps and the pins, like y'all!

I'm so excited, right after seeing this we stopped at our first National Monument! I used your info and got the passport book with our first stamp and we decided on the tokens and pocket book. Our son got us the Park Pass for Christmas and we plan to take advantage 😃

Great info!! We collect shot glasses from all the places we go. And we're not whiskey drinkers. LOL!!! Last summer we left Pittsburgh towing our camper and headed west. 16 days later we visited St. Louis Arch, the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, Mount Rushmore, Crazyhorse, Custer State Park, Needles Highway, Devils Tower, Yellowstone National Park, Badlands, and Wall Drug. It was an awesome vacation and that is when my husband and I realized, when he retires we are going to be full timers in a fifth wheel.

+Spot The Scotts // FULL TIME RVing Life! My husband doesn't retire for 10 years yet. He works for the railroad so unfortunately we can't take his job on the road. LOL!!!! So while we wait we travel during the summer and also have a permanent campsite so we can get as much use as possible. It will give me lots of time to research RV manufacturers and tour different fifth wheels. Thanks to you and Brian I have a list of places we want to see because of your travels. Maybe one day we'll be able to meet. My husband is like Brian in so many ways, especially the cooking part. They could cook for us and we can sit back and watch. Safe travels.
OMG....... I am in Passport Heaven. I recently got wind of this back in October 2016 and have been on it since. My family and I are NP junkies and every vacation is centered around at least one . We have been traveling 3 times a year for the past 4 years and I am bummed that I wasn't able to collect all those stamps because I didn't know about the program. You guys have given me great insight on how to minimize my collection because between my 5 children and I, I'm spending about $70 bucks each stop. Thanks again. #newsubbyhere
That's so awesome! Did you know that you can write to any National Park, send a piece of paper and a self-addressed, stamped envelope and let them know the date you DID visit, and they will take their stamp, turn back the date, stamp the paper for you and send it back to you? Get to collecting all those ones you missed out on!

Never knew this program even existed! Thanks so much for explaining & sharing. Went to a local national park here today but it was full (gorgeous weather & Mother's Day: everyone out at the parks :) so ordered our book & pins of parks we've been to over the years online. Got a 15% discount as a first time shopper. So excited!!! Thx again.
+ncylee4 That's awesome! FYI - *IF* you happen to remember when you visited certain parks.... you can mail them a piece of blank paper along with a self address, stamped envelope, tell them the date you were there and request that they stamp the date and return it to you. They will!

The passbook folder is an excellent way to map your travels. I travelled across the Nullarbor a few years ago from east to west, down south and back east again. I collected posts cards (as I have since I was a teenager) and a bunch of pins which I put on my Texas "cowboy" hat lol Happy travels :-)

So cool, guys! I love the Parks and am an avid collector so I appreciate your warning on being choosy on what we desire to collect. I've been sticking with the cancellation stamp and a picture/video in front of the welcome sign. ...And an occasional magnet. Nice video!

I’ve been purchasing patches and the stickers that would go on a water bottle or something, but patches and stickers are large, so you can’t put many on a single object, and I don’t need to have two collections. So I might switch to only collecting pins because they are smaller. I’ll have to remember your glue idea so they don’t fall off.

This was a great video guys. I have two kids, 11 and 8, and live on the East Coast and am going to pick up one of these passports so we can make some memories. We are hoping to travel across country in the next year or two to visit Yosemite, so thanks for a great and easy to watch video!
a tip for the stamps: when you apply the stamp move it around a little bit so the stamp looks optimal :) thanks for the cool video im from europe and ive been to the usa once but maybe ill go this summer too. i already saw yosemite and death valley but i want to see them all
We do the magnets of all our vacations and when someone ask "where did you get this magnet" the memory of the trip comes back and we can tell them what ever they want to know about the trip. However I do think the next time we go to a national park we will do the passport binder like you have that is pretty cool. Thanks for the great info... ;-)
+Burns Travels Apparently my reply vanished! I love magnets but we don't have a magnetic fridge or any other magnetic spot so the pins work great for us! :-D I hope you get a binder!
You guys are great! Thanks for the video! I'm trying to decide between the different sizes of passorts to get and your video did the perfect job of showing/explaining the insides (unfortunately I'm still undecided, lol). I kick myself for not getting one when we were in Glacier National Park this summer and I wish I would have know the passports exsisted a couple years ago because we went through at least 7 on a loop through Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. Thanks again!
+Kirsten Griffith well here's a good piece of news once you get your passport. You can mail a piece of paper and a self addressed stamped envelope to any national park along with a note saying "I was there on (month, day, year) before I had my passport. Can you please send a stamp?") and they will!
I have the small passport book but have so far only got stamps from Cali... I also collect bumper stickers for my car, although they have to look good for me to buy them... I don't buy every one! I also don't buy the actual passport stamps... I get the ink stamps because they r free.
Just today I bought a leather bound blank sketch book to use as overflow for my ink stamps because the small book won't hold all 417 stamps lol

Awesome you guys. We collect the brochures at each national park as well as 2 postcards( and always a picture of the entry sign...and( You guessed it) we make a youtube video for our channel. My wife started collecting the 1dollar tokens and purchased a token book but because we started late. are missing a bunch of the parks weve been too. if you try and contact the visitor centers. they say they can mail them but charge you like 7 bucks for a 1 dollar token,,plus the token books are not very well made as the coins seem to fall out alot...Wish we would have started with the stickers instead,,,Good video and safe travels!
P.S..If you ever try and contact a visitor center to mail you any thing...you're lucky to get it by next year( im still waiting on some swag)
Surprisingly, our daughter mailed in 7 junior ranger packets and got ALL of her packets and badges back within 2 weeks! :-O
I also love using my National Park Passport book. Unfortunately there isn’t any groups that I could find to share my love of them. So I created a Facebook group! It’s named “Passport to National Parks” I would love if you joined so we could have a little community! I also collect pins too!

your video has been really helpful in helping me pick out which kind of passport I want to choose. i figured I would go for the super nerdy one but you've confirmed that its the right choice for me by going through it. thank you so much! i just heard about these today and im so excited to start collecting! i have already visited some of the parks, but didnt know about the stamps. i heard you can get them backdated. do you know of they will stamp the page from the binder if i sent them that with a letter or would I have to send a piece of paper instead? I'd rather it the stamp be stamped directly in instead of being stuck on there!

I use use to collect pins but they kept falling off so I switched to patches. I still like the pins. How do you keep them on?
You are SO right. I figured that out pretty quickly, but, not willing to accept defeat, we superglued them! Not to the bag itself, but basically supergluing the pin inside its mount. Once we like it's spot we superglue it. We find that the metal ones don't need it but the rubber backed ones do, which is the majority of them.
Another cool video. Have you cats run into any issues with your rig being to big for the NP's?
+Son of Dad Oh it definitely would be. Most parks have a 35 foot limit, some even have a 30 ft limit. We have never taken our trailer into a National Park. We just stay nearby and we drive the truck when we go in. Glad you liked the video :-D

How is your magnetic/dry erase board time management system working out? I love the idea but wanting to know if it is helping yall out since you are always so busy with tons of projects going on at once! :)
It was working well but a couple of them fell down (need a thicker layer of command strips because of the way the back of the boards are)... Haven't had time to put it back up. Hopefully soon!

I like the nerdy books!! I want one for our travels...And since I work in an office, I'm a total junkie for pens that are "worthy". Do ALL National Parks have these stores? I have to find a park near me...Not sure the closest one. I grew up near Gettysburg, PA, so I'm thinking that might be the closest park to me.
+Diane Craig Most NP visitor centers have a bookstore (or sometimes it's a separate building) but they vary in size. This is on the bigger end. The biggest one we have seen was probably Grand Canyon. Some are teeny tiny. Not all of them carry the binder but most carry the regular passport. You can also order them online at eparks.com
