Even as a DD main I love seeing this video .. the more people learn the better the battles will be! While it has gotten much harder to be a DD main .. I still thrive in them. If you have hyper awareness DD should be easy for you .. if u dont watch minimap you're not going to do so well. Keep up the good work Terry!
If I may suggest a topic for the next video, Focus fire/ Target selection.. I feel that is a major downfall for alot of players! Cheers!

As Jingles said, you don't need hydro to know there are torpedoes coming, you just need to be capable of thinking and breathing at the same time.
In other words, gitgud : 3

Honestly, Bieng a destroyer player is only getting more difficult all the time , while torpedoes remain the same. Ignoring the torpedo indicator cone while playing in many destroyer aggressor situations is more important than ever before.

Just finished reading Japanese Destroyer Captain. It was neat to read about torpedo dodging in the various encounters, some reality behind the game. Great book

There were one or two paragraphs where the slightly skewed view many Japanese have on the IJA's conduct showed, but I was really impressed by the Japanese view on things, and how far a destroyer captain actually came, as well as how critical he was of how the war was waged on the sea.

I learned to torpbeat the hard way, now i almost dodge 60% of the torps thrown at me during the battle
Because i know a torp run when i see one

It's all mind games. DDs need to up their ante, and use tricks like feints or rushes to get torpedoes in. No more low risk / high reward if you're playing in the open.

Honestly, DD,s are starting to get the small end of the stick. With more things being able to counter them, the less they can do

How do they explain the phenomenon that you pointed out at 7:20, when that column of torpedoes hit the (invisible)outer tip of the island? Is that a consistent phenomenon, where torpedoes are always stopped a short distance from the shores of islands(as if running onto sand bars close to shore)? Or does it only occur at specific spots on certain islands?
Somehow I'm guessing that it's more of a glitch than a design function, because I also see shells from guns occasionally being stopped in mid air by an 'invisible force field' that seems to reach out a short distance from the outer edge of island mountains.
Also, how can a tier 10 carrier survive the entire battle and end up only with 15k damage? Maybe all his planes were shot down early on? Or he was AFK.

I doubt that they have modelled the underwater landscape. The island hitboxes are generally out of sync with the visuals - you'll often see shells splashing on them that clearly should have gone through. It's one of those problems we keep reporting. The parts of islands I generally look out for are the "chest-high wall" equivalent. Due to the arcs, you can often fire over them (since you're starting from a higher place - your guns are on top of the ship), but incoming fire, especially on flat arcs, tends to get caught before hitting you. It's like going hull down with a tank. And it works against torpedoes just as well.

Isnt the indicator based on velocity, not speed? Cause direction

There comes as apposed to here comes. I learned more about English studying German. It may be in part because I would take the week of school when I was a teenager.
