In case new players are wondering, play the EU destroyers, they are the only ones with sufficient AA to survive on your own against a CV.
Also, I believe German destroyers are the best gunboats, because they are better at smashing enemy DDs. German DDs turn better than Russian or Japanese ones and have sonar to keep you safe when brawling other DDs. While their HE is relatively weak, it is still workable, and you can shoot this incredible AP at basically everything anyway.
And WG, please give destroyers an overall gun damage buff. They need it.
The AA on the EU destroyer is cancer.
German dds all the way for me i love em. I just recently acquired z-52 and z-31 (recon dd cruiser line) both I've had much fun with. The havoc i cause charging camping bbs and carriers the reactions were absolutely priceless. Flushing them right out into the open of friendly bbs gun range.

I’ll tell you the best set up for these Destroyers
From to Z23 to Z52
Equipment:
Slot 1: Aiming Module 1 or Main battery +20
Slot 2: Propulsion
Slot 3: Concealment
Don’t use HE on any of the lines except Yorck, German He sucks and focuses primarily on AP
Alternative line: Z31
Slot 1: Aiming Mod or main battery +20
Slot 2: I went with rudder
Slot 3: it’s your choice between Rudder or concealment so I settle on concealment
This line is primarily focused on guns more then torpedos, so you then wisely!
Anti-Air destroyers like Halland? Destroyer brawlers like Z52?
This is missing a lot of things
Forgot to put this in my last comment, mines would be cool in world of warships blitz like if you just a small light cruiser fighting a destroyer and then Bam! 20% of your hp is gone
I use destroyers fast speed and concealment to capture the enemy base

Staying Invisible, Spamming Torpedo, HE Spam and most of all....being annoying
I hate those DDS it's why I went with German DDS. Really no need to stay invisible when you're main weapon is the powerful German guns. It gives me great satisfaction when i charge the torpedo spammers and he spammers in my German dds and watching them and campers panic

Minesweepers should have a single gun and a lot of AAA guns and of course mines in the rear.it can drop 5 mines before it has to reload.the reload should be 20-30 seconds.of course it should have smoke cause it has a single gun! it should also have sonar and radar for enemy ships nearby .there should also be special equipment for the minesweepers.they should also be fast.minesweepers should have a low hp pool too.minesweepers are smaller than destroyers .the branch should start at teir 3.mines should also have a specific amount of damage for each ship.for like a destroyer,a mine can take have or a third of their hp.for cruisers,take a fourth of their hp.for light cruisers,third of hp and heavy cruisers,fourth or sixth depending on their nations.wargaming please take my idea for a new type of ship!

Well, this 'playstyle' video, barely passable. I'm not going to list the reasons why, figure it out yourselves.
yeah, the suggestion are not as disaster as the cruiser video, but there are some rooms for improvements
Honestly for this, almost all the destroyers need concealment in order to be effective. But for the Russian gunboats like Khabarovsk, the player needs to decide if concealment or rudder shift is the better option because tbh, this line is constantly spamming HE rounds.
