Both engines together made a great look. They told me after they arrive in Silverton one of the engines will head back to Durango by itself. Since only one engine is needed to bring the train back to Durango.
So glad to see #476 finally out-shopped and on-line once again. Congratulations are in order for the crew there in Durango for doing such incredible work and thanks to Al Harper for preserving this unique, engineering gem.
476 looks amazing with the diamond smokestack and old style headlamp by far my most favorite locomotive of all time on the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge Railroad because I have a painting of 476 sketched crossing the animus river before Silverton with Cascade Canyon in the background and I also have a metal Desktop model of 476 and truly sound amazing to hear her wear a five chime whistle quite a contrast to her Colorado & Southern lukenheimer 3 chime whistle that metal desktop model wrist on a spike that came off a narrow gauge Railroad north of Silverton that a friend of mine gave
Well that headlight and smoke stack looks pretty cool I'm wondering if they had the same opinion and chose to leave it like that or they don't have time to change it the roundhouse machninces are vary busy but that 5 chime whistle sounds pretty close to the whistle on our 1932 440 Edison locomotive at Greenfield village
Cool! A doubleheader with 473 and 476. And truly, 476 looks stunning in her movie props. The old diamond smoke stack. And an old time box headlight.

Rode this in 2011, my first and only train ride. Cool fun, with a nice little layover in Silverton. I recommend Thee Pits Again barbeque for lunch.
I rode to Cascade Canyon. Next time I would like to ride all the way to Silverton. BBQ would be a great lunch.
@@rlaiiialr I'd like to do it in winter. I live in Arizona and I'd also like to do the Verde Canyon and Grand Canyon railroads.
