First of all, prayers for Deb’s heart procedure to go perfectly and without a hitch! And prayers that her healing and recovery are fast and painless. Good explanation of “long and low” and the difference between English and Western and the reasons for it. Thanks. God’s blessings to both of you as you deal with medical issues.
Praying for you Deb, for full recovery, strength and peace and for your medical team for wisdom, a fresh mind and a steady had and for Pat for peace, courage and support. Love your videos Pat. Take care
It's beautiful to watch your horses do what they were trained to do. Deb, I will be praying with others around the world for a smooth sailing and speedy recovery. We look forward to good news on the other side of the procedure. May the Lord give you both peace, strength, and many more years together.
Just an o-ring ? That’s bunkhouse humor. What would your mother say if she heard you say that. Definitely sending out good vibes for Deb. Pat, amigo, you’re the best. I’ve learned a lot of good things from you and Deb.
France will be better with a happy ticker! Prayers it all goes well, and that you're soon tucking into some lovely French food. The pines and log corral gave me Bonanza flashbacks!
Know you both will be in our prayers here. Have faith all will be well. Just relax and do what you need to do to get healthy and back in the saddle again, as they say. Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
Prayers for a good outcome for your surgery and rapid recovery for you Deb..❤ Nova Scotia awaits good news. Love the smile and chuckle from you Pat, when you commented about being together for a few years now. You both deserve to be proud of all the knowledge you share with us.
I always wondered why my horses head was so low. I. didn't know I needed to correct him and get him on his hind quarters to raise his head. Speedy recovery Deb. Praying the surgery goes super well and you heal fast.
Best of luck with that heart procedure, Deb. We are fortunate to live in a time of such astounding medical advances and you will reap the benefit of that knowledge. Vaya con Dios, Señora. That sure is a good looking black gelding you've got there, Pat. I laughed at that bull just lying in the middle of the arena saying, "Don't bother me, man. I'm comfortable."
Thank you Pat and Deb for all you do , and explain, about being a better horse person. To you Deb, my thoughts and prayers for you on your medical journey.
Thank you for sharing! The term long and low had me confused in my earlier years of riding. I like my horse to be in balance. It may look a bit different from horse to horse. Thats how I see it. Just want to say how much I appreciate what you and Deb put into your channel. So much wonderful nuggets and words of wisdom I have learned since joining your channel years ago. My thoughts are with you and Deb as she undertakes the surgery. Sending you both many blessings and a speedy recovery for Deb. ❤
Best possible outcome for Deb.❤ Long and low is a warm-up exercise used in dressage to stretch and loosen a horse's back & hindquarters only. It's the horse version of stretching before you go for a run. It works really well. It is not intended to be used when riding outside for all the reasons Pat mentioned.
It's really touching to hear you speak about your lovely wife's condition and surely you've had a good look back into your many days together when doctors come up with such diagnoses and surgery... honestly I wish Deb all the best and good nerves for you, dear Pat! Best wishes from a German fan of your work goes all the way to USA Bianka
This is for m’s deb I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Just know that god will see you through it all. I’m praying for the both of you. Maybe someday I’ll get to ride with you guys.a most speedy recovery.
Deb, Hope everything goes really really well with your heart procedure and that you're back on your feet and feeling 100 per cent in no time xxxxxxxxxxxxx❤❤❤❤❤❤
prayers and healing energy from Poland, everything will be fine . good that they found it and can fix it. don't worry too much, trust dear Lord. I know how you feel
I worked at guest ranches and it was interesting how the English riders were so freaked out about riding on unlevel terrain. Also, we had to tell them to stay out of the horse's mouth or the horse wouldn't go.
Pat, that horse is saying, "Come on dad, let's go!". I agree with your pragmatic attitude and techniques. Those high dollar "peanut roller" western pleasure and equitation show horses look so lifeless, unnatural , unhappy and pathetic. It really hurts to see them just go round and round endlessly. And they spend most of their time in solitary confinement in a barn stall. They are herd animals and need to be out in the open with their buddies. Mine all run together in a large pasture, are healthy and lively.
When horses are used in ranch country, they will cover lots of miles in a day. It doesn't take long before they learn that they will need to conserve their energy. So, a "broke" or finished horse will usually be willing to do only what is asked of them. Nothing more. No runaways. An arena horse seldom has the need to learn to conserve their energy. Even broke horses can become bored and develope bad habits. They are usually considerably more fresh when compared to a broke ranch horse, given equal time ridden. In my experience and humble opinion at least... 😊😊😊
I'm wondering if the letter writer thinks "long and low" applies to western riding (as well as english) is that she's seen the peanut rollers in Western Pleasure classes @ horse shows . They don't look like what I think of as "long and low" because in the WP classes the horses don't look like they're stretching their toplines. They just look pokey and lifeless. But maybe that's where she's getting that.
She wasn't referring to western pleasure. That's a whole other story! Since we don't ride with constant contact, we want our horses to carry themselves in a more natural frame on a loose rein whenever we aren't asking them to do something that requires collection. When a horse is made to travel with its head lower than its withers, the weight is put onto the forehand which is something we don't want.
Praying 🙏 for Deb for a successful surgery and speedy and full recovery!!

Where can we find a list of clinics Mr pat is putting on? I'd live to go to one.
Unfortunately we’re no longer doing clinics in the future beyond an annual one in Oregon and when we want to travel overseas to help pay for the trip.
@@PatnDebPuckett weren't y'all building some something to have a school at your place?
