Good night ash and Kate glad to see that you are wearing the right motor bike gear and I love your videos of you fixing up every thing and keeping a old motorbike from the scrap yard please keep it up with your videos on your you tube channel
Another great vid - enthusiasm by the bucket load! I'm learning some great tips too. Always great to get a bargain on eBay as well - Thanks, mate - keep it up - loving it 😁
I use a small steamer to clean the electric connectors, does work, after cleaning I put same Vaseline for protection, some people don't agree with it but always worked for me. Good for the project.
Shocking ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Well, after that terrible attempt at humour I’ll be studying your progress before I even attempt to do something with my bike. I always thought electrics is some form of magical wizardry that required a long beard and magic stick. 🤓
thats a cracking design of fuse box, not seen one like that before that holds all the relays too - nice to have all that lot in one place together rather than scattered about the loom.
That was one clean fuse box even before you started Ash, but its squeaky clean now. There is a blue/white wire that is usually corroded and that will give trouble but you have been very lucky there.
Really enjoying this. You are pretty good at this I would have been on the internet for a new fuse panel and ended up with somebody else's old shonker barely better than the one I started with.
Dielectric grease is great stuff …. Watching this is quite something …. Like watching a train wreck and you just can’t look away ….. makes me feel better about my mechanical abilities though, so there’s that anyway ….. I would have started with a multimeter and a power probe ….. and look for bad grounds ….. but, now I’ve seen the inside of a fuse box :)
I appreciate the content, but surely do some basic power checks before ripping things apart? You’d said the battery had enough oomph, but if you put a volt meter here and there you’d know?
Have you made sure of grounds as has been suggested, and that the alarm wiring you cut out did not remove a live feed that you require, get a 12v test lamp probe looks like a screwdriver with a light in the handle and sharp pointed blade to check wiring 12v keep it up i look forward to your videos
Surely I can service and replace the seals... hopefully they'll be OK... I pressed the release valve on the rh front shock and some air came out, it doesn't now though 🤣
Yes but I tried using it and it didn't like it, it's a bit too modern for the bike and kept switching itself off, I think it was putting too many volts out, i.e. like 15, and the bike was saying "no no no, too much buddy" 🤣

Thanks mate... don't worry, I'm not going anyway

Thanks mate! I'm learning loads too 🤣
Cracking video mate! Entertaining and educational (electrical is not one of my strengths) 👍👍
Thanks mate, not sure about either of those things 🤣
Doing well Ash, you do realise you've got loads of of current and former 900R owners watching this and rooting for you!
Thanks mate, yea, they're probably all screaming at the screen because I'm doing it wrong, but hey ho 🤣
I'm enjoying watching you because I'm working on a 85 gpz900 and a 84gpz1100.
Thanks for reminding me to get a spare key for my motorcycle. I keep forgetting and I only have one!
I still need to do that! Today's job! 😃
Nice work Ash. Trying the key, optimism at its finest 😂

🤣 its a lot simpler than modern bikes

I know right, brilliant!

I think I know the one you mean and it look like new under the insulation tape
This is going to take a long time Ash, fingers crossed for good weather/compression and spark ! Thanks for documenting.
Thanks mate 👍

🤣
Great videos & was nice info on relays/fuse box👍
Thanks buddy 😃
Hopefully your starter clutch is good lol
Great job ash, your channel is great , I need get me a bottle of that elbow grease 😂
Thanks buddy, no idea where it came from, Home Bargains probably 🤣
The grease on the fuse Bo is probably dielectric grease (keeps water and moisture from your electrical system

🤣 Hopefully I can keep the train on the track
Really good video
Thank you 😃

I probably should have but the fuse box was filthy so I wanted to clean it up anyway 😃

Just watched more of the video and you have a test meter, check your power feed
I thought there would be but couldn't see one, the alarm just seemed to immobilise the coils and not the ignition, weird right?
I'd check continuity of earth through the frame there seems plenty of corrosion around
Surprisingly, the earth straps look pretty good
Deoxit D5 is your friend ;)
Tricky to get in the UK, and its very expensive... If I get a really stubborn one and the WD doesn't work then I might invest
Before you go much further with your project and spend money check is your front end and rear shock is keeping air.if not well it ain't worth fixing
Surely I can service and replace the seals... hopefully they'll be OK... I pressed the release valve on the rh front shock and some air came out, it doesn't now though 🤣
Cut your losses mate. Burn a few quid in the fire if you want to waste money. It's a boat anchor😂
@@therealslimshady4555 🤣
I'll sell you a totally mint one it's on tube.same as yours. Save you some hassle ash😂
How much?@@therealslimshady4555
Did you check fuses are ok?
Yep, all good
Do you have a jump pack?.
Yes but I tried using it and it didn't like it, it's a bit too modern for the bike and kept switching itself off, I think it was putting too many volts out, i.e. like 15, and the bike was saying "no no no, too much buddy" 🤣
Crazy more like mad,cor that's cheap.
