My dog went for help solo when I hurt myself in the forest. I told him to go get Boy. Boy was the name of a dog on the property. Where you found Boy, you found his owner. My boy ran off without hesitation and was back with help in 30 minutes. RIP Romeo. He’s my hero and I miss him every day. Hubble’s story reminded me of how Romeo went for help.

My dad would take a draft horse into the woods in the winter pulling a tank trailer to pour maple sap into. One time he broke his foot, the horse was a ways off still hooked to the trailer. She came to him by voice command while still pulling the load and not getting it hung up on any of the trees. He was able to climb onto the wagon and bring them home.
Another time the same horse pulling a cart refused to take one more step. That was unlike her. Even when my dad swatted her with the long reins she refused. He hopped off the cart to see the dogs leash had gotten tangled around the wheel and reeled the dog in. He was able to cut the leash and save the dog. One more step and she could have broken the dogs neck.
She was one of the best horses I have ever worked with. Sadly we lost her to an asthma attack/tracheal collapse a few years ago.

I've always put more hope and faith in animals, because people just aren't using the God-given brains we were given. Not all people are like this, of course, but even I need help from animals. I've had four Guide Dogs during this life, and I've also had cats, and they're even smarter in some ways. They certainly know how to help us heal when they purr.

AmericanPatriot a bird remembers that when they say these words they get praise. They are mimickers. Dogs (such as my old baby) can remember a LOT of words and what they mean. Birds don’t exactly care about you, just that you feed them. Dogs however, have a massive emotional intelligence, has been proven that they recognize faces, basic human facial expressions, and look at faces left to right, the same as humans do. They exhibit incredible problem solving, they protect you (my aunts dog circled her to keep distance from a creepy guy who approached her and was very threatening to him. Moose was a good boi and never did stuff like that) and they have an incredible memory and word comprehension.
When’s the last time a parakeet displayed enough emotional intelligence, fully understood words, phrases, and facial expressions? not just mimic, memorization, and repetition to make them say it consistently. Intelligence isn’t just based on the problem solving, and the mimicking of words without understanding what most of them mean. Dogs are EXTREMELY intelligent, and I would bet you my current and future income that they are absolutely smarter than a parrot or parakeet.

oh tell me about it! my horse likes trolling his blacksmith by continuously "tickling" the crook of his neck with his fuzzy horse lips when he's getting his hoofs done and the smithy is bent over :D
and i swear i hear him quietly laughing whenever i ask him to lift his right hoof for me to clean, but instead he will just lift his LEFT hoof and put all the weight into his right hoof. i'll be like "okay, left hoof then." then i'll go around to the left hoof and he'll put it down and shift his weight there........ same game again. he thinks it's incredibly funny. but after a few minutes of play he will give me the hoof i ask for..... i love my horse so much! he's very well-mannered, but sometimes he just likes to troll people. and he pouts too. there was one occaision where i had to wash his head instead of just wiping it down like i usually do. he did NOT like that and didn't "speak" to me for DAYS. and the stink eye he gave me was just.... epic. I had two horses for over 20 years. One had injured her leg in the field and couldn’t walk very well. A friend of mine kept her horse on my land, she found my horse injured in the field 500 yards from the stable but my horse would not move for her so my friend came up to my house to tell me and I walked down to where my horse was in the field and as soon as my horse saw me she just walked by my side, no head collar, up to the stable area and went into her stable. She obviously had a bond with me and trusted me more than my friend although my friend had known my horse for 3 years.
My 2 horses were both almost 40 years old when they died within 6 months of each other. They had been together for 34 years and with me for almost 22 years. I still miss them today almost 7 years ago.

My little puddle-terrier cross was once attacked by a pit bull. He survived but had nightmares crying and twitching for weeks to come. And my cat, who until then was always teasing and biting the dog, slept next to him every single night, hugging his hurt leg and purring non stop. Cats usually purr if they are unwell, since it produces chemical substance which makes it easier for them. Time passed. The dog recovered. Nightmares slowly, slowly stopped. And yes, the cat also went back to her usual mean(ish) self, with the dog teasing as her favourite thing to do.

His dog definitely saved his life! And the second story is incredible also, with the man being chased down by a bear, and this one horse, who was a little standoffish, coming over and finding him on the ground to help this fellow get out of there and get some help! *TRUTH, Melissa!* God sent me a series of dogs that saved my life as a very unwanted and very battered child. I had three people beating on me at the slightest provocation. The reason is that I was not the boy they wanted after having six girls. Each and every time my aggressors beat on me, my dogs would rush in and frequently take hits meant for me and/or got kicked for their loyalty, love and protection of me.
Since then, I have never been without dogs my entire life, even when I traveled, even taking one to another country and back. They always went with me. I will never, ever be without a dog or three in my life. Dogs are the best company God ever gave humans and I would risk my life to protect them. The gang I have now all sleep in our bed with us every night. I married my husband because he loves animals and dogs in particular and doesn't mind them crowding him to the edge of our big bed each night.
*Animals are my "thing" and I know God chooses dogs for me to show me the shining example of what true love really looks like, as opposed to humans who do terrible things to other humans. Currently I have three beauties and they enrich my life **_every single day_** just as much as my two daughters do as well. *Please be kind to your dog. They love you no matter what!*

God Bless these Animals..We have a lot to learn from Them..I learned from My Dogs of Their unconditional Love and Protective Loyalty..In Genesis it refers to The Animals with Souls..You can take The Dog out of The Wolf..You can never take The Wolf out of A Dog..Thanks for these great accounts. Happy New Year to all from Dave in Vancouver, Canada..P.S. I highly recommend the Lassie series available on You Tube..Best Regards

Not just " assisting the Alfa"- Saving and helping a soulmate/friend in dire need (sometimes even a stranger!!) and helping even if they are scared- that´s only achieved if you respect the animal, give back It´s trust & love! Abused animals seldom help "their owners" out of a free will.

Jeanne Nilsson - yeah, I get kinda irritated when they try to explain the magnificent love and altruistic motives animals have and their capacity to think, with words like "instinct" or "something out of place," so they have to fix it. Animals sometimes have more love in their heart than people. They're Not relying on instinct - they actually "know" what they are doing!

Why did they not fact check this before making this episode? Alpha theory was taken back by the person who created it in the first place. Wolves in the wild live in family units it’s mom, dad and babies they aren’t alphas they are simply the parents when their offspring can successfully hunt they will go off on their own to create their own families.

I love horses and dogs. My horse broke my fall once. We where in a full canter and as we where going over the jump my stirrup slipped out and I was hanging on trying to pull myself up back in the saddle and he slowed down and broke my fall or I would crash landed. His name was Gus. He was a quarter horse Horses can sense fear and danger.

I had one of these angle grinders. They are exceedingly dangerous. When they have the cutter chain on them they are essentially chain saws that are inches from your hands, with an incredible speed that makes them jump toward your body with little provocation. I looked at that angle grinder for several years before giving it away to a friend who worked in construction--with a lot of warnings about safety. I never used it even once.

As a vet tech I can say that I truly believe and always have even before becoming a tech. Animals have spirits they have character and personality just like humans and experience the same situational awareness and feelings like depression and sadness, fear, happiness & joy, anger etc. they are very intelligent to know when to save a person or protect them from attacks, police dogs or emotional or disability working animals. I’ve had plenty of dogs who know the drive to the vet vs say the dog park or something because they remember surroundings and directions and it’s amazing.

When I was 7 yrs old my shetland pony smelled a man hiding in the bush about to jump out and pull me off his back. My pony snorted and would not step forward. I kicked my pony in the ribs but he wouldnt go foward. Therefore I turned him around and went the other way. The man came out and hollered at me from a distance to come back. I think about that pony quite often. He saved my life. I will always appreciate that pony. ALLWAYS.

I will never forget when I was growing up riding my first pony at about the age of 10. I had wanted to cut down this little dirt road between some fields and a forest and he wouldn’t go no matter what I tried he wouldn’t go so I gave up and went home. Later my mom and I drove by and I asked her to stop so I could investigate, and sure down the path - not too far was a swarm of bees that I couldn’t see or hear before because I wasn’t close enough. My pony was!

A lot of human food is really fattening for dogs! 15g of cheese for example is the equivalent of 2 burgers for a human! You’re not doing your dog any favours! Dog food is the perfect balance for them if you follow the recommended guidelines!

Wow! I had a horse which did 3 amazing things, two of which were potentially life saving. A 13.3 hand Snowy River mountain pony, aged. Trail riding one day leading other riders, approaching a steep climb in a pine forest, she suddenly leapt off the track and stopped, looking up hill. I gave the Aussie coo-ee to alert whatever was up there, and two mountain push bikers bucketed out of the timber with their brakes squealing. Not that she stopped, but that she leapt off the track, and clearly warned me. The was a horse never gave me any trouble, and had an amazing brain, so I always listened to her. Another day I was packing along with her sister fully loaded beside me, up through an easement in town, overpasses for the busy road above. The tunnel looked a little lower than any we'd ever seen, but she had her ears up and was going in, until I ducked my head a little and she baulked. She said very clearly "If you don't have head room, this is dangerous, I may need room to manoeuvre." I heard her clearly, and we backed away and along and up over the road between traffic. The best thing she ever did, and it was not life saving, was I'd dismounted, and put my stock-whip on the ground beside me. I was tailing cattle out droving, stopped for a spell, cattle moving along, camp and horse herd all ahead. I re-mounted and she only went about 10 paces and baulked. Totally out of character, so I gave her her head and she walked back and stood over the whip, which I'd forgotten to pick up. She definitely knew she couldn't shift cattle without it, (one crack without even touching a beast will shift them) so would be reduced to biting them on the rump. But horses don't think like that. I've seen some smart horses, and the smartest are the travellers, they rely on us so much more, the bond is deeper. No home to rush back to at the end of the ride, we make all the arrangements, and they drink when its offered, because they never know where the next water is. If they spot a patch of feed and indicate they want it, I'd always stop for a bellyful. A horse with a bellyful of green grass can stand a dry camp. Oh yeah, horses and dogs are amazing. Thanks for this video, first time I've looked here.
