You got my like the second you had the sagacity to show the timeline of your video. I can only use paint brushes so I appreciate seeing where I can skip to.
Thanks for doing this video! These paints were an impulse buy and kinda tricky to use at first, but once I saw your video and got a GLOSS base coat, not a matte, they turned out great! Specially the Space Dust Electric Blue Intense Violet.
Glad you got through the company wars , saw lots of support in UA-cam continuity for you. Great job on the color review , awaiting my sets so I can do my colored plastic spoons samples.
Oh man, this makes me want to buy whole squads of emperors children, paint every part of armor in a random violet variant (for cohesion) and have my enemies eyes fall out. My wallet hates this.
That electric blue intense violet is awesome and the green yellow gold right after it. That gold yellow orange might be handy for a future 40k Minotaur chapter. Some awesome options for insect carapace! Thanks so much for this review, I am still waffling about what airbrush to get so I love seeing how they go on with a regular brush.
Or the business ends of flamers, meltas or plasma guns. I like seeing when people paint the oxidation of the copper barrel on a flamer, and i think some of these paints could achieve that quite well.
I hope I won't sound creepy - I really like the softness of your voice. The quality of those paints seems good, especially on marines. Thanks for your great work!
Ditto. Naomi, I love the soft and calming quality of your voice. And, I love your videos. Thanks for the great review. I ordered each set and I am looking forward to painting many Battletech minis with them.
Thank you for this video! Several years ago I was totally into Tyranids (too much stress at work and depression made me stop though) and made my own colour scheme where I made the chitin parts brownish-yellow-Gold to give it that shimmer. I once talked to a games workshop guy about it but he told me I cannot use metallic paint on them because they’re biological. I think it turned out well though. But I think it was the same guys that was appalled when I showed him my broodlord and he asked what the stuff in it’s hands and on the base was and I answered “intestines” (had some green stuff left and made it look like intestines to make that more gruesome). You could read on his forehead “but... but she’s a girl! Girls don’t do that!” 🤣 I think I now found a way to make them look way cooler than before! You inspired me to try to paint minis again! 😘🤗
This will be absolutely amazing to paint on Slaanesh models! Noise Marines rejoice everywhere! Oh, and Harlequins will love them too, maybe on a cloak, or weapons. Great video too, soothing voice and great timestamps so I can find what I want to see quickly. Earned yourself a sub!
Seems my local hobby shop does carry these kits, and I was really intrigued by the blending of colours you displayed... thanks for that. I have done colour fades and blends in the past, so I am really looking forward to playing with these effects. Once I get better control/consistency with the airbrush that is.
Gonna have to get me some of those paints and make some thousand sons scarab colored armor... Great video as usual, And thank you for inspiring my poor financial decisions :p
This was very helpful. I usually prime with white, so I do wonder how that would look compared to your models. I especially like the turquoise/violet and the electric blue/ intense violet. I don't use airbrush, but I can see how that would give a more smooth transition and finish, Thank you.
I know I'm terribly late but this was a really nice review, especially where you went over the hand painted review too. I'm building an eldar corsair army and haven't sorted out an airbrush. I've been playing around with Greenstuff World colourshift paints as well and they're a lot of fun.
I wouldn’t mind trying out a few on some gundam kits. Time to pick up some cheap HG’s I think. This is a SUPER comprehensive breakdown of the colors. Amazing work Naomi.
Turquoise violet and Green Blue Violet were my favourite overall. I would love to see you drybrush the range over gloss and matt black just out of curiosity. Great video, you have been very busy. X
Love the vid! Super helpful for helping me decide my future project colors. These are expensive paints and it's so helpful to know what they look like on a model before I drop the cash on them! Thank you!!!!
Oh wow. The possibilities with these paints are fantastic. No more 7 steps to get a heat effect or carapace pearlescent chiton (sp?). Thanks to Gamza linking your vids, your supporters during the censorship bump and to you, Ms. Steele, for your wonderful attitude, practical delivery and reviews. I've binge watched several vids and now time to paint stuff!!
I'm thinking about using one of these, probably turquoise violet, on Alarielle's beetle. Then see if I can matte it down a bit with a wash or diluted contrast paint on top.
think I'm doing this right.... I completed the previous 2 tasks... my most memorial painting/ hobby events would have to be getting a Knight Vallent from my son for fathers this past yeah with him using his own my to get it for me and the racing to finish for a paint comp at local game store... taking it in when we thought it was only to have it top part fall off onto to the floor and find out we have 5 more days and then winning the comp.... we both are beyond proud of it
Really interesting. I didn't know these existed until I watched this video. The painted Tyranids sparked a few ideas. Using something like GBV over black for the chitin bits for a beetle like carapace could look good. The OGGV over black gave me some Giger Xenomorph vibes.
I am into paper craft/home decor etc. My channel got caught up in the GSW issue and Vallejo very kindly sent me the whole set! I love them. I've now got some pretty coloured tape dispensers, tried them out on black mugs (very pretty). I find myself looking for dark stuff to paint :) I prefer the Vallejo to the GSW ones.
There used to be a very small British sports car company called TVR who painted a lot of their cars in this type of paint. I think purple/green was the most popular.
"...Brother! This unicorn barf that I seem to be covered with, does this classify as heresy?!" "-Don't worry Brother(!), this barf is inert. No purging needed." Nice pigments indeed - thx for testing sharing!
And to top it off ..... there's no WarGame ASMR channel on UA-cam ?? Asmr painting , rule book reading with finger scanning etc .... Kerrrchinggg ⚔️💰💰💰
Seeing all these different kinds of paints and all the techniques to paint.....makes me sorely regret I didn't get more into the painting aspect of my 40k days. I used to be decent but seeing Naomi's techniques shows me how much further I could've gone and improved. Naomi, what's your preferred technique for painting minis?
Currently trying to find the Space Dust set for my Necrons. I wonder what they might look over Chainmail primer. Also interested to see what they might look like either covering or sitting alongside other metallics and inks.
Thanks for the review and overview. At first I thought there wasn't a lot of distinction between some of the colours but looking a bit more closely it looks like they do actually have pretty distinct colours. Good stuff from Vallejo, I really like the set. For me it would be used really well on birds, especially something like a phoenix. +1 Subscription :)
Doing up three Umberhulks. Useing three of the space dust on the shell parts to give them that June Beetle look. Also already have used this stuff on a Nightwalker with some teal ink and flicking of white paint to make him look like he's made of the night sky. Even without an airbrush this is fun stuff 😁👍
I just bought a box of the space dust set after watching this. I'm curious how this will look over a matt primer as I had a crazy idea to try this on some blue horrors to give them a more crazy warp energy look. Y'know very Tzeentch right?
Electric blue Intense violet will make for nice Warp energy effects on my Librarians. I also intent to use the subtle pearl effect when they are painted on white surfaces. My Space marines will have some very pretty ornaments on their gear, soon.
You must be very lucky as Vallejo must have sent you them before they were available to the general public at least thats what I assume since I have just checked locally in Australia as I would like to purchase them due to your review, I was completely unaware of these products before your video and you sold them to me so Vallejo got their moneys worth just one me lol. Sadly for my wallet they cost $40 AUD per set and I will be buying all 3 sets, they are so awesome. ETA Feb 5th
As for the questions: I honestly can't pick a favorite. I like them better on curved surfaces. I actually like how they look on white quite a lot; my choice of undercoat would depend on the theme I'm going for. And I am delighted that they look perfectly nice when brushed on, too.
I really hope these are not really expensive because I am going to have to buy them all lol. I much preferred the curved surfaces but I liked both sprayed and brushed on.
First of all and most importantly..VICTORY to You!!! Secondly...yeah I'll get back to you on that because you were treated so very wrong and you are still standing!!!...which leads me back to...VICTORY to You!!!!
@@swordnsteele712 oh I guess I should have watched the rest of the video before I commented😊. But I did mean mixing them wet and then painting them on. Not sure if that it would have different results. P.S. love the vids❤
I lovr the dark blue/purple variants, I think they will add a lot of beauty to a dark elf army. I think I would use it in moderation, like on sea dragon cloaks, and a hydra here and there. Make thing look a little magical and exotic.
These are awesome! Thank you so much for doing this video, I've been in love with these paints since I came across them but was worried that they wouldn't be friends with my paintbrush!
Very comprehensive review, thanks for showing them on models as well as bases. Not sure which set I'll get but I'll be doing it by paint brush not air brush
Ravendelve Tactica you can brush them too. They work really well with just a regular brush. I meant to say that, but i was also trying to get kids to their sports.

A well educated and elegant person to present these paints. thank you for this video
And you've made it with brushes. Great paints I guess. I'm in a hurry to use mine now 😀
I would watch you talk about literally anything!!! Enchanting you are!
Those are some nifty COLORSHIFT paints from VALLEJO.

Thanks for making this ! Makes it alot easier to see how all the colour shifters will look out of the bottle before buying them.
Thank you for this video. Helped me confirm that yes, I do indeed want this product.
The iridescence of these paints would look awesome on either the beetle that comes with Alarielle (Age of Sigmar) or varied dynasties of necrons
I'm doing my Nids' carapaces with them
I plan on using for tyranids
